Chapter 003

Nathan

I woke up early the next morning and prepared for school. I wanted to leave early and not have to put up with having breakfast with everyone else but Lexi beat me to it.

I headed to the kitchen to grab something but then found Lexi already setting the table, “ Great,” I murmured to myself.

“ A happy family breakfast, just what I needed,” I said between gritted teeth, then curved my lips to great Lexi.

“ Lexi…you're up early, what's the catch?” I greeted her.

“Good morning Nathan, did you sleep well,” she said warmly, still arranging the cutlery on the table.

“ I slept great,” I lied, infact I kept on tossing and turning all night.

“Well I wanted us to have breakfast as a family, I think it might be a great start for all of us,”

“ You're too kind Lexi,” I said, “ but you could have left that for the maids,” I reasoned.

“ Oh no dear, I got this,” she said offering me another smile.

Just as I was about to make up an excuse to avoid breakfast and apologize profusely for it my dad came down stairs still in pajamas.

Great now I had no excuse.

“ Oh hi son, how was your night,” he said while walking towards Lexi and kissing her forehead.

“ I slept well dad.” again I lied.

“Is Leo awake?” Lexi inquired as her eyes shot up to the stairs.

How the hell am I supposed to know, am not his nanny, I cursed inwardly.

“ Maybe he's tired because of yesterday, the moving and all,” sweet dad reasoned.

A man, tired and still sleeping because of what…moving, they had the moving team help them with everything, Leo was just lazy.

Just as Lexi’s worries had gotten the better part of her and was preparing to climb the stairs to wake his little darling up, Leo appeared up the stairs, wearing that infuriating lazy expression on his face.

“ Great,” dad exclaimed, “ now that everyone is here, let's dig in,” he said as we all settled on the table, Leo sat next to me, i felt like standing an moving to the farthest chair at the dining table, but he seemed unbothered by my presence.

“ Leo, did you sleep okay,” dad inquired.

“ I slept fine,” he replied lazily, I rolled my eyes.

“ Great, now Lexi and I have some news,” dad's expression changed to seriousness as he laid out the words.

Goddess, I hope it's not what I was thinking, Leo was already a headache and now I hoped they were not planning on expanding the family with a new pup.

I frowned and Leo just raised an eyebrow.

I was about to mutter something when dad cut me off, “ Lexi and I are planning on getting married,” he said as he held Lexi's arm affectionately giving it a gentle kiss.

I couldn't help myself but let out a loud breath, I felt grateful to the moon goddess.

“Now you boys will help us with some of the arrangements, we have already picked out the date, it's in two weeks.”

“ Two weeks?” I raised a brow.

“ Yes,” dad smiled, kissing Lexi once more, “ it's just that Lexi and I can't wait to give our union a legal title,” he said, still wearing that weird smile on his face.

I stared at the chewing Leo, he seemed unfazed by all this and I could smell it radiating from him, it's like he really didn't care if the world stopped or something.

“So what do you boys say?” He looked at me and Leo, for a brief second we exchanged looks, then I blurted out, “ if it makes you happy,” and Leo, with his half filled mouth answered, “ cool,” Lexi smiled nodding her head as she touched her chest, as if we had any choice, even if we had said no, I don't think it would have mattered, dad just asked to show respect.

Lexi was about to say something when Luca appeared, I smiled inwardly, finally someone was here to save me from this hell of a breakfast.

“ Ready,” I asked, and Luca nodded.

“ Well guys I hate to spoil our breakfast but it's time for me to leave,” I said feigning concern.

“ It's alright son,” dad said encouragingly.

I took my bag and headed for Luca at the door but my dad's voice cut in.

“ You can give Leo a ride, besides you go to the same school right,” it hit me like a nail in the forehead.

Great, just great, this was what I was avoiding,I stared at Luca and the frown on his face was visible, I could smell the displeasure radiating from him.

I waited for Leo to say no but no words came from him.

“ Alright, I turned with a smile that didn't reach my eyes.

It seemed that he, too, didn't like the whole breakfast thing.

The ride to school was a quiet one, I sat in the front with one of dad's enforcer who was driving and Leo and Luca sat at the back, they looked like they could tear each other into shreds.

I sighed when we reached the school gate, as we got out of the car, all eyes were on us.

“ Oh my gosh!” A girl exclaimed in a weird tone, “ did the sun rise from the west,”

“ Leo and Nate came from the same car,” another one exclaimed with excitement.

“ They look so hot,” another girl exclaimed in pure excitement.

Leo seemed to be enjoying the attention but I wasn't having it.

Just as Luca and I were about to head to class, a slim girl with big boobs wearing heavy makeup and a very short skirt run and kissed Leo hungryly.

Luca couldn't help himself but let out a mocking laugh, I rolled my eyes and headed to history class.

During class I sat next to Nora, she was one of my good friends.

We chatted a bit when Mr Woods' voice cut through, “ Hayes, is there something you and Nora want to share with the class?”

The class chuckled, “no not at all,” I said.

“ Then pay attention,” he said with finality.

The class was boring as fuck and I was busy counting the minutes until it was done, we submitted our research assignment and I went for hockey workouts.

I met with Luca at the boys locker room, we chatted as we changed.

“ This time we're going to beat their ass,” Luca said, referring to Leo's team.

I tugged my jersey straight over my shoulders and jogged onto the field with the rest of the team, our couch Ronald was already barking instructions.

He paced in front of us, “Play tight. Pass fast. Trust each other. Today we show them why this is our field.” he said with a sharp voice fired with confidence.His words lit a spark in my chest, and when the whistle blew, we launched into the drill.

Our sticks clashed, as our feet pounded the turf, I fell into rhythm with my teammates until something felt off, I couldn't feel that annoying scent, I scanned the opposite side of the field, expecting to catch those familiar green eyes glaring back at me.

Nothing. Leo wasn’t there. Of all days for my self-proclaimed rival to disappear. I snorted under my breath. What, did he decide to give himself a day off? The thought was bitter and strangely disappointing, although he was my rival, it was not normal for him to miss practice, maybe classes but not practice, or was something wrong? My focus kept slipping, my gaze drifting to the empty space where he should’ve been. After a few sloppy passes, I muttered an excuse about grabbing something I forgot and jogged off toward the locker room, my curiosity gnawing louder than the coach’s whistle behind me.

As I approached the boys locker room, I could hear hushed mutters coming from inside, I could also feel two heartbeats and that familiar scent.

Curiosity got the better part of me, I went in but I was shocked beyond words at what I saw, this was not something I could have imagined.

In the shower Leo was standing naked with his back to the wall and his face facing upwards, but he was not alone, there was someone else, a guy, he was on his knees, sucking Leo's cock.

My breath caught in my throat. For a second, I forgot how to inhale. Leo seemed to be enjoying himself, then he opened his eyes and faced my direction, the bastard didn't even flinch, instead he gave me a wide smile.
