Chapter 7: The Storm Within

The atmosphere in the grand foyer instantly turned suffocatingly tense. Rayyan’s presence was like an oncoming storm, his grey eyes locked onto Sophia with an intensity that made the surrounding guards tense up. He took slow, deliberate steps forward, his tailored suit jacket unbuttoned, exuding an aura of absolute power and simmering fury.

Sophia instinctively took a half-step back, her previous confidence faltering for a microsecond before she forced a arrogant smile onto her face.

"Rayyan," Sophia said, adjusting her designer handbag. "You're back early. I was just giving your new 'wife' a warm welcome into our world."

"Mrs. Gable," Rayyan said, completely ignoring Sophia as he stopped directly beside Aatika. His deep voice was dangerously calm. "Take the staff upstairs."

"Yes, Master Rayyan," Mrs. Gable replied instantly, bowing slightly and motioning for Clara and the stylists to follow her up the marble staircase. Within seconds, the foyer was cleared, leaving only Rayyan, Aatika, Sophia, and the security detail.

Rayyan turned his gaze to Sophia. "You have five seconds to state why you breached my personal security before my men drag you out of this property."

Sophia’s expression morphed into frustration. "Breached? Rayyan, I came here to talk sense into you! Have you completely lost your mind? You went and legally married a complete nobody—a broke girl with no background, no status, and no corporate standing!" She pointed a manicured finger toward Aatika, her voice echoing off the high ceilings. "Look at her! She is using you for your money, and you are using her to secure your grandfather’s board shares! Do you really think the board of directors won't see right through this pathetic facade?"

Aatika held her breath, her fingers clutching the edge of her simple dress. Every word Sophia spewed was a sharp reminder of the truth—that this entire marriage was built on a contract, a deal of convenience. She waited for Rayyan to dismiss the claims or remain silent, but what he did next caught her entirely off guard.

Rayyan casually closed the distance between himself and Aatika. Without taking his eyes off Sophia, he raised his hand and gently, firmly wrapped his arm around Aatika’s waist, pulling her closer to his side. The warmth of his hand radiated through her fabric, sending an unexpected shiver through Aatika’s spine.

"Who I choose to marry is none of your business, Sophia," Rayyan said, his tone icy enough to freeze the room. "And as for the board of directors, they care about performance, results, and stability—all of which I provide. What they do not care about is the bitter opinion of an ex-fiancée whose family failed a corporate merger."

Sophia’s face flushed red with humiliation. "You think this is over? The Malik Group Annual Gala is in less than three weeks. The entire press, every major investor, and every member of high society will be watching you two. The moment she opens her mouth, everyone will know she doesn't belong in our world. I will personally make sure your little arrangement falls apart in front of the entire country!"

"Is that a threat?" Rayyan asked, taking a step forward, bringing Aatika with him. His grip on her waist remained firm and protective.

"It’s a promise, Rayyan," Sophia spat back, clutching her leather folder tightly. "Enjoy your little game while it lasts."

Without another word, Sophia turned sharply on her high heels and stormed out through the heavy double doors, her security detail following closely behind. The grand doors slammed shut, returning the villa to a heavy, echoing silence.

The moment the doors closed, Rayyan released his hold on Aatika’s waist and stepped back, his expression instantly closing off like a iron vault. The brief warmth that had surrounded her was replaced by the familiar cold atmosphere.

Aatika took a soft breath, trying to steady her racing heart. She looked up at Rayyan’s sharp profile as he unbuttoned his cuffs and rolled them up his forearms.

"Are you alright?" Rayyan asked, his tone neutral, as if he hadn't just held her in front of his worst enemy moments ago.

"I'm fine," Aatika said softly, looking down at her hands. "I'm sorry... She came in before Mrs. Gable could stop her. She said she ran a background check on me."

"I am aware," Rayyan replied, walking over to the bar counter in the living room and pouring himself a glass of iced water. "Sophia is desperate. Her father’s company lost forty percent of its market value after I pulled Malik Group out of the merger deal. She is looking for any leverage to destabilize my position."

Aatika hesitated for a moment, then took a few steps toward him. "Rayyan... what she said about the Gala... Is she right? What if people figure out that our marriage is just a contract? It could destroy everything you've built."

Rayyan paused, turning to face her. His grey eyes searched her face, noticing the genuine worry etched into her soft features. For a second, a flicker of surprise crossed his mind—she wasn't worried about her own reputation or the money; she was worried about his standing.

"No one will figure out anything," Rayyan said, his voice quiet but absolute. "Because for the next three weeks, you are going to learn how to be Mrs. Aatika Malik. You will have tutors for high-society etiquette, media presentation, and corporate networking. You will be prepared for that Gala."

"Etiquette tutors?" Aatika blinked, slightly overwhelmed. "Rayyan, I'm just a normal girl. I don't know anything about high society or multi-million dollar corporate events."

Rayyan placed his glass down on the glass table and walked over to stand in front of her. He was taller, broader, and his presence was overwhelming, but for the first time, there was no hostility in his gaze.

"You don't need to know everything, Aatika," Rayyan said, his deep voice carrying a strange, reassuring weight. "You only need to trust me. Under this roof, you are protected. Outside this roof, as long as you carry my name, no one—not Sophia, not the press, and not the board—will touch you."

Aatika looked up into his dark grey eyes, feeling a sudden, deep tremor in her chest. She knew this was a business transaction. She knew he had married her only for power and convenience, and she had agreed only to save her mother.

Yet, as she stood in the middle of his grand living room, looking into the eyes of the ruthless billionaire CEO, a quiet, dangerous thought crossed her mind—the ice around Rayyan Malik’s heart wasn't completely unbreakable, and surviving this one-year contract might be harder on her heart than she had ever imagined.

Chapter 29: The Eternal Dawn Part I: The Sunrise Over the Capital The morning sun rose over the capital like a slow-burning ember of liquid gold, casting brilliant, piercing rays across the sprawling skyline of glass, steel, and stone. For years, the metropolis had been a concrete labyrinth where fortunes were made and lost in the flicker of a stock ticker, and where shadows dictated the survival of those who dared to challenge the established order. But today, the atmosphere hanging over the city felt entirely different. It was lighter, clearer, and charged with an unprecedented sense of stability. At the very pinnacle of this skyline stood Malik Tower, its reinforced glass exterior shining blindingly under the early morning light. Inside the sprawling top-floor executive suite, the silence was absolute, broken only by the soft, rhythmic hum of high-end climate control systems and the distant, muffled whisper of city traffic far below. Aatika Malik stood near the floor-to-

Chapter 28: The Global lagecy. The Solstice at Lake Geneva The sharp winter wind swept across the pristine waters of Lake Geneva, carrying with it the icy breath of the Swiss Alps. Snow had begun to fall softly over the grand lakeside châteaux, dusting the ancient pine trees and polished stone terraces in a blanket of pure white. It was six months after the final collapse of the Grand Council in Milan and the total liquidation of the Vance family assets. The international financial world had settled into a new, unprecedented era of equilibrium—an era governed not by shadowy syndicates operating in secrecy, but by the absolute, transparent authority of the Malik-Valerius alliance. Inside the glass-domed conservatory of Château de la Couronne—the private European residence of Rayyan and Aatika Malik—a soft fire crackled in the massive limestone hearth. The warmth inside the conservatory created a stark, comforting contrast to the freezing winter landscape outside. Aatika Malik

Chapter 27: The Eternal Reign Part I: The Shadow of the Past The autumn wind swept across the marble terraces of Malik Tower, carrying with it the crisp, cold scent of the approaching winter. From the top-floor executive suite, the sprawling metropolis below looked like an intricate board of glowing lights, towering glass skyscrapers, and endless streams of traffic. For years, this city had been a battleground of ruthless corporate warfare, hidden bloodlines, and dark family secrets. But tonight, a profound, unbroken peace hung over the capital. Inside the grand office, Aatika Malik stood near the floor-to-ceiling glass wall, holding a warm cup of herbal tea. She wore a deep emerald velvet gown that fell gracefully to the floor, its rich color contrasting beautifully with her pale skin. Her dark hair was styled in soft waves over one shoulder, and on her left ring finger, the legendary blue diamond ring sparkled with intense brilliance under the chandelier lights. She wasn

Chapter 26: The Dawn of a New EraPart I: The Morning After the Fall in LombardyThe early morning light over Lake Como did not break with a gentle, warming glow; rather, it pierced through the heavy, lingering veil of the autumn mist like a cold, sharp blade. Along the jagged, tree-lined cliffs of Lombardy, the air was saturated with the quiet stillness that follows a seismic storm. Inside the historic perimeter of Villa Moretti, the frantic chaos of the previous night had completely vanished, replaced by an eerie, suspended quietude. In the grand reception hall, where the air still carried the faint, metallic scent of tension and high-stakes confrontation, Marco Moretti and Elena Helios stood near the massive mahogany table. Their posture lacked the unyielding arrogance that had defined their rule over the European syndicates for decades. The golden crests inlaid into the dark wood—representing the Valerius Raven, the Malik Crown, the Moretti Serpent, and the Helios Sun—seemed to

Chapter 25: Shadows over Lake ComoPart I: The Midnight Arrival in LombardyThe cold, biting mist of late autumn hung low over the glassy expanse of Lake Como, wrapping the historic Lombardy region in an ethereal, almost suffocating silence. Along the winding, cliffside coastal roads, a convoy of matte-black armored Mercedes-Maybachs cut through the shadows with absolute, unyielding precision. Their high-beam headlights sliced through the dense fog, illuminating the ancient stone walls and wrought-iron gates of Villa Moretti—a sprawling estate that had stood as a silent witness to European aristocracy, financial corruption, and blood alliances for over a century.Inside the lead vehicle, the atmosphere was dense with a quiet, lethal focus.Rayyan Malik sat upright in the leather-trimmed backseat, his dark tailored overcoat buttoned to the chin, exuding an aura of commanding sovereignty. His sharp grey eyes remained fixed on the encrypted tactical tablet resting on his knees, scrol

The roaring mechanical hum of the rotors cut through the crisp mountain air, shaking the dewdrops from the gnarled pine trees surrounding the estate.Inside the main drawing room, the air was warm, smelling of fresh coffee, cedarwood, and the faint metallic tang of newly installed security systems. The structural damage from the previous night's siege was already being erased. Elite crews from Malik Group’s private construction division worked in near silence, replacing shattered glass, patching stone walls, and installing military-grade tactical glass across every window.Aatika sat at a long mahogany table near the grand hearth, her mother’s velvet-bound journal resting open beside a sleek executive laptop. She wore an oversized charcoal wool sweater belonging
