11. Chase
"T-not that's fair," I yelled, throwing my hands in the air. This attractive six-foot-tall demon is cheating and acting like he's fighting. Everything is unlawful and unjust. Logan rubbed his temples, an annoying smirk creeping across his lips. "You're cheating," I said, pointing. "I'm not, you just don't know how to play," he said. I gasped and glared at him. If my eyes had the ability to generate lasers, he'd be the first to vanish. Logan and I were sitting on the couch, playing chess. This is our second time playing the game, and he has won both times. Scarlet and Patrick were laughing as they played video games. Now I wish I had chosen video games instead of this brain-teasing game. "How dare you accuse me in such a way? When I play with my neighbor's son in Worcester, I always win "I declared proudly. "Keep in mind that her 'neighbor's son' is ten years her junior." Scarlet pointed from her vantage point, and I gave her a deathly gla

12. Throbbing heart
I take a drink of steaming hot coffee and turn the page of the novel I'm now reading. The book isn't one of those that pique my attention and makes me want to stay in this room until I finish it. It's more of a case of "I don't have anything else to do, so let's give it a shot."  The sound of the evening breeze could be heard through the open window in my room, prompting me to sink further into the couch. I didn't realize a week had passed after Grecia left because the last two days went so nicely. Apart from the odd mood swings from Logan, living with him wasn't all that unpleasant. But, contrary to my expectations, we didn't regularly bite each other's heads off. Unless we have dinner together, we rarely see each other in the house. Logan has always seemed to enjoy my food, so I always cook for both of us. Logan would usually get home late at night, but there were times when we would eat together in silence in the dining room. I had asked him the day b

13. Devil
I knocked on Logan's door, biting my bottom lip in worry, hoping he wasn't sleeping. I shift my weight from one leg to the other, debating whether to knock again because there was no response from the other side. As I raised my knuckles again, I was relieved to hear the sound of the lock turning before he opened the door. I gulped as I saw what was in front of me. Logan was shirtless, rubbing a towel through his silky hair. His muscles shook beneath his skin. I swallowed and cleared my throat. “Yes?” he inquired huskily. “Uh…” I began, and he raised an eyebrow at my lack of response. I cleared my throat once more before continuing, "The ceiling light in the restroom isn't working." “Would you please look into it?” I spoke softly. Unlike the master bedrooms, which have a plethora of small bulbs in the bathroom, my room, which is one of the guest rooms, has only one ceiling light to illuminate the space above my toilet. “I'll call someone tomorrow to fix it.”

14. Punishments
Munching on my cereals, I concentrated on my essay, which was due the following Sunday. Today's class was just like any other day; to put it simply, it was dull. I was desperate to return to the mansion as soon as possible. Fortunately, the last class I had was free because our professor was away for an emergency, so I was able to return much earlier than expected. I sigh before putting down my pen and stretching my back muscles, which relieved me. I've been working on this for two hours and think I deserve a break. I rose from my position on the bed, where I had curled up like a cocoon wrapped in a blanket. I had forgotten that I needed to do laundry today, so I went to gather all of the clothes that needed to be washed. At the very least, I can make my break productive by doing some cleaning. Before leaving my room and going down the stairs, I gathered a bunch of my dirty clothes and threw them in a basket. I looked around the living room, expecting to see Log

15. Guest
Five minutes! Five minutes have passed since the woman, whose identity I have no idea, arrived. Her long auburn wavy hair and curved backside were all I could see. She appears to be tall, almost reaching Logan's nose, and she has a body that I could only wish for. Perfect like a model. She exudes a rich and confident aura around her as if she knows people will stop to give her a second look, which I'm sure happens frequently. I think I've seen her somewhere. I wish I could just look her in the eyes to confirm my suspicions. The way she clings to Logan and how he responds to her demonstrates their familiarity with one another. She even addressed him as L, which confirms they've known each other for a long time, but I'm curious about their relationship. I confirmed my suspicions when she turned around to instruct her driver to retrieve the luggage. She's the same girl I saw in the picture with Logan and Patrick. She's more mature now than she was in the p

16. Did he just...?
“What the fuck are you doing in my room?” I heard him say before he towered over me. My pulse quickens as my fear grows stronger. Oh shit! I didn't dare to open my mouth for fear of revealing the truth. I clenched my fists around the hem of my T-shirt. My eyes were as big as saucers, and my heart was in my throat. When I remained silent, he grabbed my arm and drew me closer to his bare chest. Logan likes to be shirtless most of the time when he's in his room, and fate loves to put me in these situations. My eyes began to burn slightly. “Lia, answer me,” he chastises, his grip on my arm tightening. When I looked down at the floor, my eyes welled up with tears. I have no idea why I'm crying!? Maybe it's because I knew I was making a mistake but still went along with it, or maybe it's the fear of being caught red-handed or the fact that everyone here will find out I sneaked into Logan Watson's room in the middle of the night. He connects our eyes by lif

17. Hysteric
In a trance, I enter my room and lean against the door. What just happened? I'm not sure why Logan did that. What made him kiss me? Technically, it isn't a kiss, but you get the idea, don't you? Memories of what happened on the balcony a few days ago resurfaced in my mind. I was in the same boat back then. Why does he always put me in it? I despise him. I despise him for causing me to feel this way. This is not acceptable. He kisses me while his ex-girlfriend, who will soon become his girlfriend, is two doors away. He's just fooling around with you, Karrie. This is not something you should fall for. As I consider what I should do, I straighten my back. I should disregard him. Yes, ignoring his entire presence is preferable. I decided to vent my rage on the person who had put me in this situation. I scanned the bed, expecting to see Scarlet in deep sleep, but instead found it empty. What happened to her last night's sleep? Is she with Patrick? I shake my

18. Unbosom
The leaves fell to the ground, adorning the streets and sidewalks with their vibrant gold and red hues. Through the glass window of Logan's sleek black Audi A4, as he slowly weaves through New York traffic, I watch the trees dance in the autumn breeze. The small world inside this car, the world that only consists of me and Logan, is packed with a tense and dull atmosphere, in contrast to the calm and happy spirit that followed the world outside the car. I haven't said anything to him except nod when he asked if he could drop me off at University because I was running late this morning. I would have taken a ride with Scarlet if she hadn't had to leave with Patrick so early this morning. I'm not angry with Logan for yesterday's prank; I believe I showed my displeasure by slapping him, but I've decided that from now on, it's better to give him the cold shoulder because Natasha's words kept nagging at me the entire time. 'You don't even have a right to b

19. Reunion
Logan’s POV The starlight cloth runs all the way across the ceiling of the massive room, which was the assembly hall back in our high school days, and the LED uplighters attached at the bottom of the four walls enclosing the room to create a dramatic effect, taking this ‘High School Reunion 2014' to the next level. I stare blankly at the blue lagoon in my hand, attempting to erase the image of Karolia from my mind. I recall her stunned expression when she saw me in a black satin tuxedo, and the way her eyes followed me discreetly as I left for the party with Natasha. It had been two hours since the reunion began, and I couldn't concentrate on anything because of a brown-eyed girl who kept passing through my mind. Her expression of surprise when I threw her in the pool the day before was amusing. To say she was enraged would be an understatement. But I've always liked her feral expression. When she is angry, her ears turn bright re

20. Broken
It’s not the years we count, it’s the days we spent with them   Hammering, Banging, Pummeling, you name it. All of those things are happening to me at the same time. I groaned loudly before opening my eyes, but I winced immediately when the harsh rays of sunlight hit my cornea. I sat up straight, my hand on my pounding head, and blinked my eyes repeatedly until my blurry vision became clear. When I realized I was back in my room at Watson Mansion, I looked around the room and frowned in confusion. What the hell is going on? I don't remember much from the night before, other than getting dressed up to go to the pub to fulfill Scarlet's request and taking shots with her. My stomach began to clench and my legs began to shake. I jumped up with wobbly legs and dashed to the bathroom. I puked after hurling my head into the toilet, emptying the contents of my stomach. I flushed the toilet after wiping away my tears, and then washe
