Chapter 31: The Lord, The Knight, The Alphas, And The Witch's Potion
The moon, on its highest peak, shone its mild light. Underneath the thin clouds, a midnight battle took place in the kingdom's heart in the south. Beast soldiers and guards surrounded the intruder, keeping their numbers up as the young knight got them one by one. Wielding his flame sword against anyone who got near him.   "How naïve," a redhead alpha said, leaning on the pillar while striking a pose. "A kid like you has no place on the battlefield. Go home while I'm still being nice to you," he suggested.   Seth smirked and slit the beast soldier's throat in a second. "Naive you say, why don't you save that for your useless men?" he mumbled, clearing his path towards the alpha by taking down his guards in one blow.   "Leo," Mathew called the werelion when he exited the palace. "Be wary of that kid, he's got some skills."   Leo curled his brows on the werewolf's reminder. "You're thinking too highly o

Chapter 32: On The Other Side
In the Eastern region of the empire, rumors have it that a village of witches existed. But without any specific evidence, the said tittle-tattle remained as hearsay.    "Ow!"   A loud groan echoed in the midst of the night. Even the crickets paused for a bit and peeped when the lady's head came out from the crack on the ground.   "Ugh," Latina groaned when her skull hit a hard object. She lifted her head and could barely see the moon in the sky from a small hole up above. Tall trees surrounding the area and the hard thing that hit her was a huge tree root.   "Impossible," she muttered. They were going down all the way, yet they emerged from the ground. "Argh," she flinched when Azrene bumped into her.   "That was fun," the girl exclaimed. She pushed Latina when she adjusted her position. "It's weird, why did you stop? Is there no exit?"   Latina shook he

Chapter 33: Marco's Blood
The forest went foggy as the temperature dropped, slightly frosting the tree leaves and causing unexpected snow in the middle of summer. Latina noticed the sudden changes, cautiously, she put her guard up. Running away came into her mind but considering the fact that she was not familiar with the topography, she hesitated. Besides, she was not alone. If she does something that may place both Azrene and herself into danger, their effort on running away from the kingdom would be wasted.   The boys led the way, and they followed while the old woman walked silently behind them. The ladies could feel the intent stare from the back, they knew that they were being watched.   "Aren't we supposed to run away?" Azrene whispered, pulling the sleeve of her robe. "The old woman said they're having a feast. Don't you think they will eat us? Even the boys were hunting for meat in the middle of the night," the girl continued. Her voice, after trying so hard

Chapter 34: So Close Yet, So Far
Latina was speechless, not sure of what to say, she drifted her eyes elsewhere.   “Wait, you just said that this Marco kid died eight years ago and never left your village even once. Are you sure that Latina came and drank his blood while he was still kicking?” Azrene asked, confused.   “Tsk, honestly we need to leave as soon as possible.”   “You’re avoiding the question now!” Latina unconsciously covered her hand on Azrene’s mouth. Wrapping her arm around Azrene’s waist, she lifted her without getting rid of her hand on the girl’s lips. She gave a signal to the boy to lead the way.   “Stop struggling,” Latina whispered to Azrene’s ears. The latter nodded her head. “Let me carry you until we reach the village. It’s safer to leave fewer traces.”   “Quick,” the boy flicked his head to the side. There was a giant tree with beautiful orange leaves sparkling in the moonlight. It stood

Chapter 35: Wines And Kisses
The buzzing of people in the capital was endless. Merchants were making do of the remaining time before midnight to sell their goods. Shoppers were everywhere, visiting each store, purchasing what they needed, not minding the time. The steeds tied on the trees on the sideways were making sounds, unsettled by the loud commotions around. Wagon wheels hitting on the bumpy road was added in the not-so-pleasant harmony while the bugs and other insects composing their piece made the sounds more incomprehensible.   “So many patients,” Claudia complained. Sitting on a comfortable seat in Rupert’s office with her legs crossed, her thighs were visible on both sides with the long skirt she wore, thanks to its three-feet-long slits. She plopped her left elbow on the table and lounged her cheek on her palm, playing a pen on her other hand, Claudia sighed. “I should have come with the lord earlier. Invading the Wyslien Kingdom seems more interesting than staying in this borin

“Want some more?”Rupert’s question echoed in Claudia’s ears. She wouldn’t deny the fact that she was enticed. The man had a charming face and in good shape. Despite being an infamous banterer, Rupert was one of the few bachelors in the capital that every lady wished to notice them. His booming business gave him additional points in ladies’ standards. But Claudia’s standard was way too high, for a pure-blood like her, having a true-blood mate was enough to boost her pride and walk around with her head up.“Nah, I rather buss a bottle. We agreed to drink, not to make out,” Claudia responded. She rested her back on the table when Rupert’s grip loosened. Grabbing a bottle beside her, Claudia chugged it down while laying down. The wine dribbled on her neck down her chest but she felt hot. As for the reason why; she preferred to blame it on alcohol and not because of someone else who kept staring at her while she d

The growls and grunts were gone. The presumed to be storming massacre to the vampire intruder turned against the beast tribe. Their battle cry ended when droplets of death fell from the sky, causing numerous casualties and a huge amount of corpses scattered all over the place.“We let our guards down,” Leo growled, laying on his chest. If not for his strength, he might have died along with  others.Mathew didn’t respond and strutted up instead. There was an inexplicable feeling inside him that he couldn’t shrug off, drawing all his focus.“Sire! I have an urgent report!” A servant from inside the palace came scrambling, he bent his body to pay his respect when he saw the alphas. That was when he realized that there was a bigger problem while he was guarding inside.“Fool! Look around you,” Leo roared at the servant. “Is there anything else that&r

Chapter 38
“Umf!” Seth abruptly pressed his palm on his mouth when he emitted such sound. He held his breath almost an hour ago, and he couldn’t afford to take a breath just yet.‘Damn, how long will this oldie stand there? I couldn’t make a move and look for Latina if she’s around,’ he thought to himself.Following the vampire lord’s order, he headed to the east to find Latina. He was lucky to find them immediately when he arrived in the forest. There was no village around, and he kept on wondering where he could find the village that Sebastian spoke of. He was about to tag along with the ladies when they suddenly disappeared. Seth wasn’t sure where they went, so he flew higher to get a better view, hoping to see them down below. His senses caught something dangerous approaching, and so he had to land his feet on a tree.Seth dropped his jaw when he witnessed how the old woman finished off a pack of werewolves who emer

The dawn was approaching. The birds' tweeting made the leaves swerved livelier with the breeze. It was yet another day, the moon went in hiding and the sun was patiently waiting for its turn to show up, to shower the lands with its bright and warm light. This phenomenon happened almost every day, giving hope in everyone's life. However, there was a certain place where the sun couldn't reach. It remained cold and distant from the rest of the world. A place where for the most human who found it by chance, considered enchanted and dangerous since it was ruled by witches.Latina knew that something was off when they were tracing the way that was said to be headed to the village the old lady had mentioned. After watching the old witch massacred the werewolf pack, they were told to carry on. Led by Sheila and, the young boy called Fred behind them, the journey was quiet and kind of suffocating. That was what Latina thought when she felt the heavy atmosphere as they got nearer to th

Terror consumed everyone’s system when Latina stood high and proud in the middle of an inferno. The robe she wore was burnt into ciders, leaving her bare naked but it seemed not to harm her. Her scarlet eyes were glowing as if there were balls of fire inside them. The strands of her lengthy black hair were coated in the flame too. A shinning red stone on her chest began to break into pieces with the tremendous heat, turning it to dust, sparkling with fire. She was dazzling; with her goddess-like features, anyone would think she was one which fell from grace and was being penalized with the eternal flame. Even the witches and the men in the witch village who rushed in to check the commotion quivered in fear. If they didn’t know about the death of the legendary flame fairy a hundred years ago, looking at Latina’s appearance would made them believe that she was the fairy who had been long gone instead of the blood queen. The idea made them tremble more in panic, after
