Forty-Nine: Mating and Marking Chris I tell whoever is at my door to come in. I hear the door open and then shut. I still have my eyes closed because it’s probably one of the guys coming to talk about the recent events and the vamps. I hear the lock click and think that’s weird, but I pay no attention. My hands attach to a set of hips, and my mind is having a problem registering what is going on. That’s when the caramel and vanilla scent hits my nose, and I know who it is.
