Chapter 10

NOLAN“I think we should head back now.” I turned to Amansinaya when she spoke. I looked at her with my eyebrows rising.“Huh? What do you mean?” I asked. She moved her eyes on me before she spoke, “It’s already night and the whole place is dark! It’s not safe around here when it’s evening!” She exclaimed.E=Eh? But she’s a goddess, she can do anything!“But you’re a goddess, you can just use your powers, and don’t worry about us, we have weapons to protect ourselves!” That’s my point! I looked at Orlene, smirking. In addition, we have to find her as soon as possible. What if she’s not safe wherever she is right now?! What if she’s getting tortured by the…I don’t know, maybe the one that captured her!“I am safe. However not the tw

Chapter 11

NOLANMy legs are now hurting. We have been walking for almost an hour now. We haven’t stopped or rested. I didn’t care if my legs are hurting so much as if they want to separate from my body. I looked at my watch. Amansinaya explained that the time here is not different from our time. We’ve been walking for quite a while yet we haven’t seen a single sign of the mermaid.“Let’s stop here.” Amansinaya turned her head to us. I looked at the place where we are. We’re in the middle of a forest. It’s not bad to camp here. Luckily, I bought myself a sleeping bag that I found in my room. After we’ve set up our own sleeping bags. We lay down staring at the stars displayed in the beautiful night sky.“Beautiful isn’t?” I looked at Amansinaya when she spoke.“Mm!” Orlene replied with a nod.“I always admire how they shine their light, unafraid of the darkness that was brought by the cold night.” Amansinaya continued.I nodded at her then looked at the sky. I wish you’re here so we could see th

Chapter 12

NOLAN“AARGH!” I shouted as I jump towards the direction of the two Manananggals.I aimed my sword at them, ignoring the throbbing pain on my feet. I sliced their two ugly heads, green gooey fluid splashed as the time their heads were cut.Wow, I didn’t know I could do that!“AAHH!” I winced when I saw their heads, what the actual hell?! Their heads are freaking moving!I looked at the two Manananggals as they began to fall down onto the ground.I screamed as I fall. I looked at my feet, the pain got worst. Looks like the rock got freaking deeper! Now, how do I get it out?!I rested a bit, a heavy pain dawned on me. The pain and tiredness are eating me up. Slowly, my eyes started to close. Until I let myself give in to that sleepiness.“Hmm, was it painful?” Asherah spoke then she grinned. The sun started setting, s

Chapter 13

NOLANI woke up. I stared at the sun. The morning breeze made me shiver, so cold!I yawned. Damn, why do I feel sleepy again?“Finally, you’re awake!” I heard Orlene spoke. I looked at her irritated. She’s freaking blocking the view from the beautiful sun!“What?” I asked her.“Dalikamata said to hurry up, we have a long journey that awaits us.” I was about to speak when I heard my stomach growled. I laughed awkwardly; right I haven’t eaten anything since last night.Orlene sighed at me, “Get up,” She stopped as she saw me standing up, slowly. “Hurry up and eat!” She said. After I stood up, I looked at Dalikamata. She’s looking at the sun. Maybe embracing its beauty, maybe she’s waiting for it to set.Amansinaya’s

Chapter 14

NOLANDamn! What was that?“Arius I said fricking stop you jerk!” We heard Niara’s scream from outside. Arius only gave her a burst of laughter.Minutes passed, Niara and Arius explained everything. Apparently, Niara’s mother was Anitun Tabu, the Goddess of the wind, while Arius’ father is Kidlat, the God of lightning. They’re so-called, demigod. A demigod is an offspring of a God and a mortal. However, there’s still something off. We both looked at Orlene when she spoke. “Wait! You said that your parents asked you to help us. Is there any reason why?” That’s what I’ve been thinking for quite a while! Niara and Arius both sighed, “We…actually don’t know.” I looked in front of me when Niara spoke.“We only know that Bathala ordered our parents.” Wait, Bathala?“WOOOW! Bathala as in the King of Gods?!” I winced when Orlene spoke.“Yep! You got it, Miss Pretty Beautiful!” Orlene blushed at Arius, who’s beside her. Bruh, this freaking guy. Then he kissed her hand.“Oh−” Orlene’s face is

Chapter 15

NOLANMy eyes widened as I saw myself glowing. It was me! I’m freaking glowing!I glared at Arius, like me, he’s also stunned. “Bro, HAHAHAHA you’re glowing you bastard!” He roared while looking at me funny. He’s not even helping! “Have any idea what happened?” I asked, then suddenly he became serious. He stopped laughing as he held his chin. Probably thinking of possibilities who could have done it or what happened to me. Then, like a bulb lit upon his head.“Ah! Maybe someone’s pulling a prank on you.” I looked at him in disbelief. Can’t he think of a more believable idea?“Bruh, I would believe you then again with your personality, I won’t.” He then looked at me dramatically, as if I’ve said something offensive.“Bro, that&rsquo

Chapter 16

NOLAN "Woohoo!" Orlene screamed at the top of her lungs. We all looked at the beautiful and harmonious view. The world looked so small up here! "They looked so distant." I murmured. I looked everywhere, trying to find something. My sight drifted to Amansinaya when she spoke. "Hey are we like—you know...gonna find her here? I mean she's a mermaid right? Wouldn't be more believable that she's at the depths of the sea?" She ranted. Then I wondered, she got a point. "Yeah yeah! But we have to make sure that she's not here." Arius spoke. Amansinaya rolled her eyes. "So...ungodly." Orlene whi

Chapter 17

NOLAN"So, let's eat!" Niara joyfully shouted. We smiled as we looked at our food, in rhythm. I smiled, the food in our house was tastier, but here, it was more enjoyable with them.I took my spoon and fork. You might ask how a spoon and fork ended up here, well...I brought some.“You’re using that?” I weirdly looked at Arius. Damn, what is he expecting me to use? Of course, I’ll use utensils to eat properly.I nodded."Ohh, you're not using these?" Then he showed me his hands. Nah, no way that I'm gonna use that.Should I be using that? Right, Filipinos are accustomed to using their hands when eating. I was also taught how to use my hands, then again, I didn't like it.I'm more comfortable using utensils. When I was young, dad forced me to be 'etiquette' in eating. YES, ONLY IN EATING.Though, I didn't know why. I always thought that he

Chapter 18

NOLANI ran.I ran as fast as I could. She's near, I can sense it. I stopped and hid. I had to calm down, I'm shaking too much.S-She's devastating to look at. Her deep black eyes that reflect the void shows that she's not messing up. Her messy hair covered her whole face. Her dress that had once a beautiful and majestic color turned into a darker shade that made her horrifying."Come out now, wherever you are!" I heard her voice. I thought being near her was terrifying enough. But hiding in an unknown place where I can't see her is more terrifying. What if she's near? What if she's behind me?Goddammit! What the hell am I saying? I have freaking powers! Why am I so freaking coward huh?!What am I so fucking afraid of?!I'm all alone. We've hidden in different places. We panicked freaking too much!"You can't hide. I control this forest!" I could hear her vo

Chapter 19

NOLAN "That's what she said." Amansinaya added. I'm really confused.
