"You wouldn't have insisted that Brian excused us if something wasn't wrong. Please tell me what it is?" She pleaded. Laurel moved closer to Vanessa where she sat and intertwined her hand with hers. "I don't know how to say this, Vanessa. It's meant to be good news but due to circumstances, I don't think it's right to term it as good news." 

After Laurel had instructed a maid to take dinner to her room, She proceeded to Brian's suite. She met him seated, pouring himself a glass of red wine. Laurel took a seat beside him. "How is she?" He asked as he turned his attention to her. 

Brian plopped down on the couch beside him. Suddenly, he felt hot. He felt as if someone was choking him so he loosened his tie. Not feeling comfortable where he was seated, he rose to his feet and started pacing up and down, running his fingers harshly through his hair. "It has to be a lie. There's no way Vanessa is pregnant. I've always been careful during intercourse. I'm so damn sure the baby isn't mine." He tried to convince himself. Unconsciously, the memory of his last conversation with Laurel came rushing back. 'The baby conversation' 

Knowing who was at the door, Brian Matthews rose to his feet and went to answer. He came face to face with his best friends, Ethan and Lorenzo. It was evident from their outfit that they came straight from work. "You look awful, man!" Lorenzo exclaimed with his strong American accent. His father was American and his mother was from Spain but grew up in the states. 

In thirty minutes, Brian got home. He sat back in the car, thinking of what to do. A part of him was telling him to go to Vanessa and beg for forgiveness but he was too embarrassed for that. He knew he had hurt her a lot and he had no idea if she was ever going to forgive him. Brian was lost in his thoughts until a knock on his car window brought him back to reality. He
