Two more weeks passed, Nathaniel was all better and we had almost arrived in Kingspin. When we were setting up camp, Merlin and I went to collect firewood and we found ourselves in front of the same wolf that had tried to attack us earlier in the journey. I turned to run away, but Merlin stopped me and pointed to its leg. It was injured. It had an arrow in its left hind leg and couldn’t walk or move for the matter.

We travelled through the mountains for what felt like three long, tedious days, but we had no way of knowing how long we were encased in the ridge since we couldn’t see the sun. I do remember the walk to be a very somber one at the beginning. After Nara cleaned my wound, none of us spoke to each other, with the exception of George and Donatello following a map Merlin had left us.

At one point, George started an argument on the right way to cut sandwiches and it split the group into teams, with Arthur and I as the spectators. George and Nathaniel were affirmative in the resolve which states sandwiches should be cut into triangles. Joan, Donatello, and Nara opposed stating that sandwiches should be cut straight down the middle for the most efficiency.

The Great Forest has always been a magical place. A place filled with hope and wonder, but I always thought that was just an exaggeration. That is until I laid my eyes on the leagues upon leagues of trees, stretching as far as the eye could see until it made contact with the sky. The sun turned those forest greens into warm orange tones as it rose over the vast wood.
