The car ride back was quiet. Garrett was lost in thought, and so was Sara. She wanted nothing more than to see her aunt lose everything, but she knew she couldn’t really wish for that.  They stood there looking at each other with the contract they wrote up years before in the middle of them. He didn’t know why he hadn’t thought of the fact it was hanging up in his house where it was when he asked her to come over. He had forgotten about it being there. Though he was okay with her seeing it and knowing he thought of it often as he pondered different things for different cases he worked on, it was a surprise for him to have framed it and to keep it there among his other personal documents like his degrees and whatnot.
