Chapter 1

Night of the festival of the millentians has come. Tonight all twenty one year olds go to this dance for the mating rituals. The festival happens every eight years because it is believed that the creator chose that day to bless people with their rightful partners. "When you find the one on that night, you will be in love forever. "Is that so? "Every day is your wedding night. Love, pure love. "Interesting that! "The connection is so strong to your one you feel like they are pulling you to them ."Alright !"You never fall asleep. "But I love sleep! "The love never ends. "Such a dream, sigh! "You literally walk on air. "Really now? "Your one becomes so beautiful beyond your imagination. See my children, I am lucky I found my one . We are so happy I don't even know how to explain it. But I'll try, it is more than magic or burning embers of a flaming torch. It is indescribable but I'll try to describe it. It is like having the bigge

Chapter 2

Festival of the millentians for sure is the most beautiful thing ever. Each bigger and better than the last. Bigger because of population growth of course and better because each group personalizes their festival according to what they hear has happened before blended with what people of their time want. Young men and women looking so glamorous. People you didn't think could ever dress up looking like royalty. You would too sell your everything if need be to buy clothes, shoes and accessories to go meet the maker and your one. It is rumored that the maker attends the festival and only a few get to know the form of the maker. So there is this thing where you are advised to not leave early . People stay at the festival until morning. Of course by midnight at least two thirds of the party is passed out around the place .There is food and booze so of course there has to be people passed out. It is also rumored that the location of the festival is in a different realm onc

Chapter 3

For fear of being reported for not attending the festival and the repercussions that come with that, the two had to come out of hiding and be at the party. With Winter threatened to never mention to a soul what she saw and happened back there. The last thing Sao wants is to be captured and tortured. As soon as he can leave this festival, he should escape this kingdom. Not sure where to go but he can't stay either. Not with a girl already suspecting him. Girls with the way they never shut up who knows when they won't have much gossip to share while bathing in the river then end up talking him. Before you know it the whole kingdom is talking about Sao with the way men too like gossip and idling around with each other. They may profess out loud about how they don't like gossip and go as far as announce that it is not gossip they are spreading right before actually delivering the gossip. But do we say? Sao keeps a close look at Winter. According to her ,too close a look.

Chapter 4

Screams, cheers ,whistles and more mad energy engulfs the festival grounds . It's time for the rituals. It's the moment of truth. Everyone is coming out of here with a wife or a husband . Your one. Only question is whom? Sure thing is that everyone was made for someone. Especially when you are twenty one in the night of the festival of the millentians. The creator hand picks your true one for you. So why not start the rituals and find out whom you are destined to be with. Exciting? If not for you, then for these folks in this festival it is very exciting . They will get to tell about the incredible love from their one. This is the most fun activity of the evening . Most anticipated . Most magical . Time to experience what has only been described in stories since one was a kid. Time to find love and let it take you wherever. The men drum, whistle and dance around for a while. The women say enchantations. The women are so still. The deal here is to channel their in

Chapter 5

"No! That one no. It is cursed forget about it. " The tattooist dismisses Sao. Something about the tattoo makes him not look away. On the mention of a curse, the other couple come to see for themselves the tattoo. Fahara is what it's called. In some dessert outside a mudwalled house a rooster is trying to swallow a blue glowing stone . Nothing very interesting about the tattoo but Sao can't take his eyes off it. More particularly, the blue glowing stone. In his eyes, the stone is visibly glowing he could say like a pulsating artery. Even when he takes his eyes off it for a second it still glows. He shakes his head thinking he must be imagining it. "Come on boy, look at other tattoos. See this one, a dagger. You like a dagger, huh? " The tattooist insists on pulling him away from the Fahara. For a moment he considers other tattoos and all the rest are too. But Sao keeps looking back at that tattoo . It somehow looks familiar but he is not so sure about that be

Chapter 6

In the Fahara it is day time. In the desert where it is hotter than anyone's mother's fireplace. You could get roasted from walking around. Sao ,Modei ,Michelle and Winter are laying on the sand in the Fahara. What the tattooist didn't know is that the tattoo was a created realm whose entry could get activated by royal dragon blood because it was forged using the magic of the stone along with royal dragon blood. But of course even if he knew this he wouldn't have cared much about it. What all humans know is that the dragon king was slain along with all of his sons. Twelve of them. They buried them themselves in marble tombs in a shrine, they would never forget. Besides, the shrine was turned into a brothel of a kind. Sao's identity was not known. He was the last son. Unlike his brothers before him, his birth was never announced publicly . He never got a marble statue in the hall of honor like the rest. But he was h

Chapter 7

The hailstorm passes soon and the four think they are safe now. But they are back to the hot dessert like before. They all groan in exasperation .They start to walk away from where they are looking around as the sun scotches them . The sun must have missed them because now it burns like it has never before. "My face is melting off! " Michelle complains fanning her face with her hands. Modei wipes her face with the corner of his shirt. She smiles like a fan girl. How sweet of Modei! Winter looks at him and rolls her eyes while Sao just shakes his head at his best friend's actions.'Such a hopeless romantic! ' Sao thinks. 'What is he trying to prove! ' Winter wonders. The four are concentrating on walking in the thick layer of sand as they go up a sloppy area. Takes them a lot more energy to walk and being dehydrated doesn't help much. Now they are tired and hungry. They haven't the slightest clue where they are still and why. Then they realize too late

Chapter 8

Any probably of a tiger popping out of nowhere in the desert? In the Fahara there is a lot of things and apparently a vicious looking tiger is one of them. The four travellers freeze on their tracks. They are paralyzed with fright. Running is not anything that comes to their mind . And they couldn't even if they wanted to. They are just too tired. Each one wonders whom it would attack first. Could it eat all four at once ? Could the tiger just walk away like a good big cat? Or does it just want to scare them from it's territory! Could this place get any more dangerous? Yeah, someone is dying this round if not everyone ."Shoo! " Is Modei's weak attempt at scaring the big cat away .Obviously it doesn't even understand it's supposed to run away with a tail between it's legs. Sao standing next to Winter notices tiger seems to mostly look at her and growl lowly. He finds it strange because it looks at everyone else from time to time but it's eyes are mostl

Chapter 9

They all start leaving two knights supporting Sao. Modei, Winter and Michelle just follow the others. They would have walked in another direction but these are knights and they need answers about Sao's past, let's not forget the soldiers who may attack any time and of course the many other attacks waiting to happen in this strange place. "Excuse me your highness, " Modei calls from behind the group. Everyone stops and leave path for Modei which he realizes he should walk to the dragon king. So he does just that. When he passes by knight number one he pulls him to himself and says sternly ,"It's your lordness! " Then releases him to keep walking to Sao. Modei nods stiffly and walks up to Sao. "May I, your lordness, ask if are we allowed to tag along because we don't even know where we are and could really, really.. ."Sao cuts him off, "Yes Modei you can. We are still friends. And I'm me, believe it or not. ""Lord Dragon, pardon me but, you shouldn't ex
