The two remained silent as they drove off to the empty streets and rather than saying anything, Shantal made the most of her time staring at Alex's face. Alex, on the other hand, pretended as if he could not feel that Shantal's eyes were on him as he reckoned that they were better off that way. In fact, he preferred this peace and silence more, compared to if they would  start talking only to end up bantering at one another They made their way to the said warehouse without exchanging any words. Meanwhile, the more Shantal tried to look at the other party, the more he reminded her of her robot, Alex. Not long after, the girl was sent to a trip to her memory lane as she recalled the time when she used to take  Alex for the drive. However, unlike their current situation, she was the one behind the steering wheel at that time as she could not bring herself to trust the robot with her life and safety.  Little did she know that Alex was actually t

Meanwhile, as Alex was busy looking for the fish basket whilst Shantal, on the other hand, was leisurely strolling inside the warehouse, they suddenly heard a noise coming from the entrance and when they went to check what could possibly the source of that sound, they saw the gate closing. When the two of them realized what was happening, they quickly ran towards the gate as fast as their feet could take them."No! Wait!"They shouted at the top of their lungs because it would spell them trouble once they ended up being locked out from the outside. They tried to stop the other party from closing the gate on them but it was to no avail."I am still here. There were people inside. Excuse me!"Alex pounded hard against the gate. But because the old man was wearing an earmuff, he did not hear a thing and all their efforts to call the other party's attention had gone to naught."There is someone inside!"Shantal also joined Alex but it did

"I am totally fine with this, Besides, it is not like I am not used to being locked up. My life has been no different from this for the most part of my life,  anyway. So if there is anyone who is fine with being in the darkness and left in the cold,  that would be."Shantal may have made herself sound nonchalant but only Alex knew that there was more meaning behind those words; hidden within them was her pain. It was for that reason why others might found the other party's words ordinary, but with  Alex's point of view, it has a different effect on him. Because he had already seen through Shantal, more than she allowed others to see her.At the same time, Alex could not help but feel sad about hearing those words from the other party. Because even though she was smiling, the look in her eyes was saying otherwise However, before the atmosphere could even turn sullen, Alex's stomach chose the right timing to act up as if it was trying to make light of thei

Finally coming to accept the fact that they have no other choice but to wait for the dawn to arrive, Alex and Shantal made good use of their remaining energy to look for anything that could at least help make them comfortable while they were inside the dark and cold storage room.   The task of checking with the boxes fell under Alex's hand and the job of making sure he has the light he needed for easy searching became Shantal's.   "Let us find something to keep us warm while we wait for  someone to come."   Alex suggested and Shantal did not try to argue anymore. She just nodded her head and made sure that she was holding the flashlight over the other party's head, so he could see clearly in the dark.   "There should be something here that we can use to cover our bodies."   Shantal seconded him afterward. Meanwhile, Alex looked around the place, and his face lip up and his e

As soon as Alex was done creating the make -shift bed out of scratch, he beckoned at Shantal right away."Climb up. That is your bed for tonight."'He even offered the other party his hand so he could help her to get up. But Shantal refused to take his hand and  with  confusion written on her face, she asked him."How do you supposed we can fit ourselves there? Don't you think that that bed is way too small for the two of us?"Alex did not expect to hear those words from Shantal and the thought alone of sharing the same bed with the other party was enough to make him blush."Err... I can....."Alex paused for a moment before he continued."I can exercise. I will do jumping jacks.""Are you trying to tell me right now that you are planning to do jumping jacks all night? Are you nuts????"Shantal inquired and Alex felt at a loss for words to say."Exercising is the best way to stay warm on a cold night. So
