Closing distance

Gray’s nose flared in anger as his eyebrows narrowed onto Robin.“You…..you mongrel!” he shouted, about to slap him hard on the face. But then something happened.Robin stopped the slap with his hands right away.Gray purred at him.“What are you doing?”.“You don’t have the right to slap me in the middle of the street with so many people around watching us,” Robin replied with a smile.“You are going to ruin your image, you know?”.“And what do you care about my image?” Gray yelled back.“How dare you hold onto my hand?”.“Leave it!”.Robin slowly pulled away his hand and removed Gray’s hands from his collar.“Have a nice day.” He goes back into the car after this statement.Gray watched their car go away.Gray clenched his fists tightly in anger.“Ugh!”.“Why did I have to cross paths with that scoundrel?”.“He has gotten a lot cockier than before. We need to shed off all anger from his head.”“He needs to be taught a lesson.”He recalled something and smiled.“We have her anyway. W

Apologies

“Is that Lucy?” he dashed towards the bathroom right away.He stood outside the door and knocked on it.“Lucy!”.“Are you alright?”.“Can you hear me?”.“Hey!”.She gave no response back. He stood there all puzzled unable to understand what was going on.“Lucy!”.He heard another groaning noise coming from inside the room. He was able to understand she was in pain or something else.“I should check her out. What if she’s not in any condition to call out?”.“I should go inside.” He placed his hand on the doorknob feeling hesitant.“Is this alright for me to “.He kicked aside all the hesitation and without a second thought enters through the door.“Lucy, are you alright-“ his eyes searched for the figure only to see her sitting on the ground with her knees hugged closer to her chest. The shower was on, and she was sitting there getting wet. Water was dripping down from her hair. she sat with the white towel wrapped around her chest which was already drenched with water that came down f

Foreshadowing danger

Lucy’s cheeks became redder with each passing second. She clutched onto the towel tightly out of frustration.“What is this?”.“This only makes me look like a bad person who doesn’t know how to accept her faults.”“This is not fair for him to do that.”“If he apologizes for his mistakes, then I should……..”.“Gosh!”.“Why’s it so much harder to apologize as an grown up adult?”.“It wasn’t so much hard to do it in the past. But now, it’s hard to apologize.”“Who told him to be so honest with me?”.She looked down at her hands, then at his face. She removed her hand from his hold, and adverted her eyes away.“I’m…….”.“Also sorry for going anywhere I wanted without informing you.”“That day, I was angry at you so I accepted Henry’s proposal of eating lunch out and then we bumped into each other in the taxi.”“I’m sorry for behaving rudely with you after that. You didn’t deserve any of the behaviors I did with you.”“I’m sorry for everything that I have done to you these past days.” “yo

Speculation

“Why did she call me suddenly?”. Christina puts down the phone.Suddenly she received a call from Richard.“Yes.”“Noir called me.”“What did she talk about?”.“Just getting enough information about my whereabouts.”“Oh.”“Maybe she doesn’t mean any harm. But still, be careful. Don’t leak any information about you.”“Sure. I’m hanging up for now.”She puts away her phone and looked out through the window.“Noir, what exactly are you planning? I just can’t get the suspicion off.”“How did she know Uncle was talking with me earlier in the morning?”.“Was she spying on him?”.Noir cuts the call and sits down on her bed with a thumping sound.“Gosh, she’s so nosy.”“I wonder if she suspected me or anything like that.”“But the way she was talking, she sounded quite strange.” “I wonder why?”.“If she’s not working with Uncle, then he would have said something about her to me right? There’s no point in him lying to me.”“Maybe, all of it is just my imagination and nothing else.”Meanwhile,

New obstacles rising

“Come in. There’s no need to freak out,” added Hughes. Julia came up to him and moved away some of the files that were sitting on the bed to make a spot for herself.“Don’t they look like office files?” she comments, picking up one file and examining it.“Yes.”“Are you working?”.“Not exactly.”“I’m just……”.“Trying to search for ways to beat Lucy. As we can’t do anything to get her into trouble, we have to work hard or do something else.”“After all, everything has been arranged by grandpa. We have to be cautious enough for him not to find out anything.”Julia puts down the file to look at him.“You don’t have any other methods to kick Lucy out of this?”.Hughes looked up at her with a puzzled face.“Don’t even speak rubbish.”“If you try to do something you’ll get blamed totally without any person to cover up for you.”“Do you think grandpa is going to put up with these tricks of yours? You’ll be banned from the family forever without any connection to our business.”“You are only

Meeting her again

The next morning came.Robin had gotten up faster than Lucy, so he went to draw outside while carrying his canvas in hand without telling Lucy as she wasn’t awake. He searched for a spot to do it, but couldn’t find any suitable places to do it.In the end, he decided to go near the lake nearby their house. It was a 20-minute walk from there. He sits down on the green grass and watched the lake. Ducks were swimming away while the ducklings were following behind them.He took out his painting things and started to draw.At first, his mind goes blank thinking about what to draw. But after a lot of time, he decided on what to draw. When he was in the middle of drawing there was a woman with a similar resemblance to Lucy sitting near the lake playing with the ducks and feeding them.He drew it with a smile on his face.“Didn’t think she was going to be an inspiration to draw.”At last, he finished drawing in a couple of minutes. He stared at it with a satisfied smile on his face.“Finally!

Reason behind her appearance

Christina patted away the dust from her dress and turned to Robin.“You met your friend after so long, but still, you don’t seem too happy about it, why?” she grunted.Robin took off his glasses and sighs.“The behavior you did with me previously, why do you think I’ll be happy to see you?”.“Things would have been different if you tried to stay my friend just like always then none of it would have turned out like this.”“You ruined our relationship,” with the last sentence he clenched onto the hem of his shirt tightly.“You just, ruined everything.”Christina’s eyes widened in shock. His words were sharp as a double edged sword, hurting them both when he spoke them. He was saddened by her choice of words.“I never wanted to hate her, but she made me do it, and I feel partly responsible for it also.”“Robin, I-“ her voice was cracking up, unable to say out anything to him. Tears brimmed the corner of her eyes.“Is he blaming me for the way how our relationship turned out?”.“Is he bl

When Christina left, Robin looked down at the brushes down at his feet.“She created enough mess for me before leaving. Whenever she comes back, a bad feeling always remains.”“Hope she’s not looking for trouble again.”He heaved a sigh and goes back to painting the drawing that he drew earlier. When he goes back home he searched for Lucy. But she was nowhere to be seen.“Where is she?” he goes back to his art room and puts down the canvas before heading towards their room to search for Lucy.“Lucy.” He called, opening the door. But the bed was all folded up and she was nowhere to be seen.“Did she woke up already? Or is she in the kitchen?”.After searching throughout the house, he sits down on the couch and dialed her number. He called her and she picked up after two times.“Hello.”“What’s the matter? Why are you calling suddenly?”.“Yes, that’s for a reason.”“Where are you now?”.“Um…..in the office.”“Office? Why?”.“Isn’t this your day off?”.“Yeah, but….”.“Grandpa sent a mail

Lucy sighs in response.“Fine then, come along.”“You are the only one I managed to fetch among the crowd of people. I can’t just let you go right away, can I?”.“What?”.“Come!”.She and Henry took a taxi and checked out the nearby five-star hotels. They took the first one which is the number one hotel in their city, Angel Wings.Lucy and he took the elevator and went to the counter to search for the manager.Henry waited while she went away.He was doing something on his phone when Lucy came back.“Come with me. He agreed to let us go to their cooking area.” Henry didn’t hear her, so she tapped on his shoulders.“Are you listening?”.He looked in her direction with narrowed eyebrows.“What?”.“Didn’t you hear me?”.“Ah…no.”“God, I can’t believe it.”“Take your work seriously.” She grabbed him by the hand and dragged him to where she was telling him to go.“The manager agreed to let us check out the cooking area. What are you waiting for?”.“We have to check out all the food. I hop

Gray was in the office, talking to someone when Olivia came up to him from behind and tapped on his shoulders.Gray accidentally was about to drop his phone by reflex. He turns around in her direction to see Olivia behind him.His face had gone pale for a second before he composed himself.“Um…what might you be doing here?” he ends the call without letting her realize then tucked it away in his pockets.Olivia stood with a puzzled face. “Were you talking with someone?”.“Um….kind of.”“Why? Do you need anything?”.“Hm……”.“Do you have time a little?”.“Time for what?”.She gave a bright smile back.“I have something on my mind. Would you like to hear about it?”.“Uh…sure.”“Tell me.”Olivia walked past him and took a seat on the chair. Gray turns to her.“What are you planning to do about the function?”.Gray placed his hands in his pockets, lifting his chin.“I gave in charge of the decorations and all. Why?”.“That’s not it.” she sighs.“Then?”.“Are you planning on letting Lucy go
