Stop it, let me go!
"Really?" he furrowed his brows but a smile plastered on his face. I nodded and he pulled me to kiss my lips. "You have no idea how much you made me happy," he whispered and hugged me tightly. "Let's go to sleep," I said before I kissed him good night. I woke up to the sound of my phone and when I reached for it, Hailey's name flashing on the screen. I noticed that Brent's side of the bed is empty and I wondered where he goes.  "Kelsie!" she screamed as soon as I pushed the green button. "You're so weak when it comes to that Davis!" she scolded from the other line. My ears were full of her litanies because I didn't call them since we've parted from the club. She informed me that they didn't disturb me yesterday because Brent called her to let her know that we're back together. I couldn't believe that they have personal contact with each other.  "Where are you?" she asked after she acted angrily. "Brent's. Why?" I replied shortly. "Let's go to the ma

It's pretty expensive
Thankfully, I didn’t hear any complaint from Brent when I told him that I will be meeting my two friends. He smiled and said he will drive me to our meeting place. He informed me that he’ll be out to meet Simon too. "Here," he extended his arm and I saw a gold card. "What's this?" I furrowed my brows. "Use this to pay for your stuff," he replied. "Nah, no need," I refused and he frowned.  "What's wrong?" I asked in confusion. "Accept this card," he insisted. I reached for it because I know I'm running late. A smile flashed on his face right away like I did the right thing. I didn't want to argue with him anymore because we've already wasted a lot of time. “Kelsie, why are you late?" Hailey acted angrily. "Do you know that I already drunk a jar of coffee by just waiting for you?” she nagged. I smiled apologetically at her and motioned a peace sign but she eyed me sharply. “Stop with the drama!” Aira pulled her hair. “You could say that because I k

What is your connection to Brent?
We decided to look for a restaurant with private rooms where we could talk and listen properly to Hailey. We wouldn’t want to last the day without knowing what she is really hiding from us. I saw her hesitation when we dragged her inside the premises but we were eager that it was time to confront and corner her. “W-what do you mean, girls?” she stammered. “T-this is me. The real me!” she was trying to loosen our grip. “Hailey!” Aira called in a warning tone. "What?" she furrowed. “How can we trust you enough, if we feel that you’re hiding something from us?" Aira sounded desperate.  "Don’t get us wrong Hailey," I interjected. "We trust you but with the way you act lately," I took a deep breath "You’re giving us a reason to doubt you,” I stated the truth. “You're right, Kelsie," Aira agreed instantly. "We’ve been friends for many years and we respect your decision for keeping it," she paused and sighed. "But isn’t it better if you share it with us?" Aira

So what's your plan?
"What is your connection to Brent?" I blurted out of curiosity. I was really bothered that it was so easy for her to defy Brent in their past encounter. "He's friends with my brother," she revealed. “So you already knew Brent since then?" I questioned confusedly. "Yeah," she beamed and motioned a peace sign at us. "You giggled to meet the new owner of the restaurant that time?" Aira creased her brows. Hailey explained that she really had no idea that it was Brent who acquired the restaurant. She was surprised too but she managed to act like she didn't know him because she didn't want us to notice it. "Hailey, you know about my revenge on Brent right?" I sounded reluctant. "What about your revenge?" she arched her brows. I told her that I'm bothered to know that she knows Brent from the start yet she supported my decision. She explained to me that Brent is her brother's friend and I am her friend so definitely she will side with me. "Besides your plan for reve

Everyone is waiting for you
"Wow! y-you're  exquisite!" Brent blurted out when I was already in front of him. His eyes were clearly astounded by my look.  My body-hugging gown that indeed shows off my curve added to his interest.  "Damn! I am already jealous of those people who will see you tonight, baby." He held my waist and pulled me closer to him. "Can we just stay here? I just want you all by myself," he was still couldn't take his eyes off me while shaking his head. I chuckled and pinched his nose lightly "Silly! Everyone is waiting for you, Mr. CEO," and smirked with a hint of a tease. "Let's go because we're already late,"  I winked and he pouted in return. That made me leap out a laugh though I was trying to suppress it. How could he manage to be that handsome even he's acting like a child? I was like drowning in his charms.  "Kiss me first!" he demanded sweetly. I wanted to protest but I was thinking we'll be staying longer if I won't give in.

Is everything alright?
"Kelsie, stand up!" Natalia was thrilled but I felt the opposite. I slowly sat up and my gaze landed on Olivia behind Natalia's group of tables. The bitch face was indescribable and like something bitter was poured into her.  When I was able to stand on my two quivering legs, I inhaled a deep breath. All eyes were on me and I felt pressured to the core. I did a few steps but it was hard for me to go on. I'm not used to the kind of introduction and to face a lot of prominent and business people is no joke at all. "Kelsie, calm down," Natalia held my hand and pressed it gently. "C'mon I'll send you to the podium," her thoughtfulness eased a bit of my emotion. We walked slowly and as soon as we reached the stairs up to the platform, Brent met me and stretched his hand for me to accept.  "I'm sorry, baby. I know I surprised you," he apologized sweetly. He mentioned being surprised but for me, I wasn't. Truth be told, I'm shocked and totally panicked. My

You can't fool me!
Aira pulled us together in the couch area and I could tell that Hailey is not in her usual self. The latter was acting odd since the previous night. Her energy was drained and like spirits were lifted away from her physically.I cleared my throat, "I met Gregory Linch last night," and spoke carefully. "I know he's the reason why you're acting strange," I held her hand and squeezed it gently. "Did you meet him last night?" I furrowed my brows and she shook her head instantly. We talked about it for almost half an hour and I've learned that Hailey's father's abrupt decision to attend the party upsets her. A day before that event, Zach informed her that their father couldn't make it due to prior engagement but changed his mind at the last minute. She was aware he's coming that was why she stayed away from the crowd and chose to spend her evening far from the people she knew to avoid any drama."And what about Hunter?" I couldn't shove her rude treatment to th

Interesting!
I decided not to pursue my law school because I knew that my coming days will be occupied. Natalia kept on pestering me about the preparation of the wedding and I appreciate all her ideas. I could tell that she's more excited than us and I understood that as a mother, every step in his only son's life is worthy of celebration. "I like this design," I let Hailey do the wardrobe preparations. She's best in fashion and it's her cup of tea. She felt flattered when I told her that I will trust all the clothing in her hands."What wedding motif do you want?" Aira asked in good spirits while checking all the dresses that are hung in a rack at one of the best couturiers in town. Brent did not accompany us because I insisted it will be all girls bonding time. His suit could be measured anytime as soon as Hailey and I could choose the materials, design, and other things needed for the preparation of wardrobes."I like this vintage sunset orange. What do you think?"

This is not fun!
"How are you feeling?" Hailey was ecstatic because it's my wedding ceremony the next day. We were at a suite of a hotel pampering ourselves with beauty products she brought for us. "I'm nervous," I replied weakly and I was clearly unease. I recalled the previous night when Natalia hosted a small dinner gathering for all of us. The night was magical and I felt grateful for all the efforts she rendered to all of us. I wasn't able to have a bridal shower because I don't have a lot of people in my life to gather as I'm only living on my own aside from my friends. Natalia suggested that dinner and it served as a replacement party. Truth be told, our intimate garden wedding is only good for twenty people. To ease my emotion a bit, I changed our topic with Haileys. "Will you please tell us what really happened that night in the club?" I pursed my lips into a thin line. "Yes, I'm dying to hear it too!" our best supporting friend interjected from the washroom.

We can sort this out
I felt I was crushed into million pieces on the outcome of my actions. It was really true that regret comes at every end of our wrong decisions in life. But my intentions had a basis until I learned the truth of what really happened to my father. I knew that I humiliated Brent in front of his family and closest friends and I don't deserve their forgiveness. I'm so sorry," I told them repeatedly how much I remorse my evil plan of revenge. Natalia somehow understood my actions though I knew that she's a little disappointed that Brent was hurting. Only if I knew sooner about the truth, I might not be psychologically persecuted by my father. She knew that I was really bothered between my love for my father and my love for Brent. What concerned me the most was if Brent would believe me that I really love him despite that revenge I plotted on him. "Prove to him that you really love him," Natalia convinced me carefully for us to settle our issues. I felt grateful
