Hatred
Emma's arms were wrapped around him in a firm grip, there wasn't even a slight space between them. Though Adrian didn't return the hug, standing there with indifference, that didn't stop the churn in my stomach and the tightness in my chest. Noticing me at the doorstep, she jerked away from him. Crimson colored her cheeks, her eyes went wide. But not even a muscle of Adrian's features moved, as stoic as ever. Though those electric blue pools pierced me with an anonymous emotion lurking around them. "H-hey!" Emma's meek voice snatched my attention. Shifting on her legs, she cleared her throat. "Uh, I will take my leave now. See you later."  Wiping her cheeks, while passing me, she stopped for a moment.  She was crying? "It isn't what you're thinking it is. It was just an innocent hug. I- I just needed some comfort. Please don't misunderstand me," she explained.

Jenna?
Later in the day, I went to meet Emma in her cubicle.  I wanted to apologize for my cold behavior earlier. And being a sweetheart she was, she shrugged it off.  "You don't need to apologise, Sofia. I can understand. I would've reacted the same way if I found another girl in my man's arms out of the blue," she said, smiling in understanding. I didn't comment on the fact that she addressed him as my man. Because he was. Squeezing her hand, I lowered down my voice to a whisper to avoid giving any new topic of discussion to some interested ears around us. "Thank you. And why didn't you tell me about your ex? I found out about it later from Adrian." The topic dimmed the light in her eyes, getting a sigh out of her. "I just got to know myself this morning when the police called to inform me about his escape. I didn't know what to do or whom to want help f

The devil's den
Slicing the tomato in the middle, I then cut it into cubes while still lost in deep thoughts. Everything has turned more messy and suspicious. Things weren't as simple as I thought they were. Something major was going on. Some grievous secrets were lurking behind the darkness. But I just couldn't reach out to it no matter how much I endeavored. Robert was one of the most trusted men of Dad, his right hand. He has been there for us all our life. I couldn't just accuse him on the basis of my perchance theory. But after whatever I saw...  He was definitely making Jenna do something against her will. He was threatening her. Whilst Jenna's behavior was also questionable. I didn't even know when she returned to the city, nor did her Mom. I asked Marie when she arrived this evening for our family dinner with others. She was actually surprised when Mom mentioned that Jenna dropped b

The man with a scar
Slamming the door shut, he pinned me against the wall. And the next thing I found was his lips crashing on mine. Holding my hands above my head, his mouth ravished mine in a rough punishing kiss. I could taste the metallic taste of my blood on my tongue when he bit on my lower lip, hard. But I didn't resist him. His anger was radiating off through the kiss, and I didn't want to make him more mad. "You're fucking mine!" he growled against my lips. "How dare you flirt with him right before my eyes!" Those electric blue pools blazed with fury and jealousy as he gripped my chin in a firm grip, but not tight enough to hurt me. "I wasn't flirting with him!" I frowned at the accusation. "But you let him flirt with you!" he snapped, his nostrils flaring. "He was watching you like he wanted to eat you alive!"  "He wasn't! He was just being nice, unlike you who acts like an ass around

The past
Son? What? But how? How was it possible? Adrian hated criminals, and Sinister was the mafia himself. Almost the entire underworld moved with his orders. There was no way they could be related. Especially not father and son. While I stood there, gaping at the totally unexpected turn of the situation, Adrian on the other hand stayed calm; ominously calm. "What are YOU doing here?" His tone was low, dangerously low that sent chills down my spine. But Sinister Petrosyan's expression remained blank, void of any emotions.  No matter how much I wanted to deny, now that I looked closely, I could find the resemblances. Similar electric blue eyes and dense dark hair I was so familiar with. And their behavior definitely proved of them being aware of each other's existences. "Answer me! Why the hell are you here?!"  I f

Pleasure
Calm down, Sofia. Just calm down.    But my pounding heart didn't pay any heed while I brainstormed for a believable answer.   "Uh, everyone knows him. He is an international criminal after all," I lied through my teeth.   I let out a discreet sigh of relief when he gave me a slow nod, a grimace lacing on his features.   "You didn't tell me. Who's after you?" I asked again. Not wanting to go back to the previous conversation.   "Not sure. All I know is it's some relative of his, who's also his rival, got to know that Sinister Petrosyan had a son. So they decided to target me to get back at him." His voice came out hard, jaw clenched. Then he met my gaze again. "And that's the reason I was ignoring you. I didn't want them to come after you knowing that you were involved with me, didn't want them to know how important you were to me. I didn't want to put you in any more danger

Scream
"Max, trust me! I saw them with my own eyes! Robert has the envelope Dad is looking for."   A shake of head. "You must be mistaken, Sofia. I'm not implying that you're lying, but it must be something else. Robert is the most reliable man of Dad. So it's not possible for him to betray us. And there isn't only one manila envelope in this entire world for God's sake!"   And he didn't believe me. I knew, saying something this major against Robert without any solid proof would be foolishness, but weren't my words enough?    I was saying what I witnessed.   I didn't get to speak to Dad, he stormed out of the house before I could even say a word. So I decided to inform Max instead. But here he was thinking that I was terribly mistaken.   "And what about Jenna sneaking into Dad's office? Her avoiding me since I caught her red handed? And those papers went missing all of a sudden aft

Caveman!
With panic setting in my mind, I thrashed in his hold.  Soon the lights turned on, causing my eyes to snap shut for a moment. "Shh, love. It's just me!" His familiar voice spoke close to my ear.  Turning my head, I found those blue eyes peering down at me. Slowly, he removed his hand from my mouth. A concern soon etched into his features. "I'm sorry, did I scare you… oww!"  He grimaced at my stomping on his expensive shoe covered feet.  "You should be sorry! Who does that to someone?" I glared, taking a deep breath of relief. My heart still thumped down my chest. "You almost gave me a heart attack!" Recovering, he pulled me into him even after my protest and softly kissed on my lips. "I'm sorry, baby. I didn't mean to scare you. I just arrived when I saw you walking away wearing this sexy dr

Destruction
Adrian's POV  "Is she alright?" I asked one of the guards I ordered to keep an eye on my tigress. "Yes, Mr. Larsen, she is fine." His reply came through my Bluetooth. I let out a sigh of relief.  In between handling the journalists' questions, she somehow slipped away from my sight. The last time I saw her was approximately seven minutes ago, standing alone at a corner. Not only it was her safety that concerned me, there was something else in those beautiful green eyes that bothered me.  My tigress was throwing daggers at me just a while ago, but then her mood took a u-turn.  "Mr. Larsen, what do you want to say about the incident that happened in Toronto?"  Another stupid question was thrown by one of the reporters. "Is it true that you're going to sign a business deal with the Saudi

Heartbroken
Fluttering my eyelids open, I squinted against the shadowed ambience around me. The throbbing of my head followed soon.  Letting out a groan, I sat up even with the heaviness in my head and gazed around. The only source of light that illuminated the room was the street light that sneaked through the floor to ceiling window. Adrian's office? When did I get here? I was at the party, right? And the headache… I rubbed my temple, my face grimacing in pain.  I could clearly remember that I didn't drink. Then how come I got here and didn't remember a thing? What's happening? Then my gaze fell onto the silhouette sitting on a chair close to the window. With his figure hunched forward; his elbows rested on his knees. His back was facing me. Adrian?
