"It's as if someone intentionally did this. I really didn't send the goods to that mall, sir. I promise you." My secretary, Monique, spoke in terror as she stood by the other side of my table, her eyes down.  My nostrils flared, my blood boiling in anger. I knew she had done what I had asked her to do, but it was her job to ensure she monitored all the goods that were being moved around my malls. "Is this a joke? Do you wanna lose your job? This is gonna make us run at a loss! It's not just about the mix-up. You literally ordered thrice the goods we would normally order at South Dantry. The manufacturers won't accept them back after a week. What's this?" "N-No, sir." She finally looked me in the eye. Yes, she had tears in her eyes. She was definitely petrified. "I swear, I did it right. I also can't make our company lose million

I rolled on my big bed, my stinky breath attacking my nose as I yawned. Sitting up on the bed, I rubbed my hands against my eyes, and blinked slowly. The room was kind of bright, brighter than usual. My eyes caught the couch Rae usually slept on, and surprisingly, she wasn't there.  "You're awake?" I flinched when I heard that familiar voice coming from the bathroom door. To my surprise, it was Tanya.  She was wearing a night dress, her hair quite wet. Her chest was almost fully open, and it amazed me. Puzzled, I looked down at my blanket, raised it a bit, and realized I was naked. It made me gape.  With a cute smile on her lips, she sauntered toward me. She sat beside me, her fingers playing around my jawline. "Hey, baby. Good morning." She stretched her arms

I let out another heavy breath. Why had she come here? She still had the guts to face me, after embarrassing me on the day of my wedding? How audacious she was.  "Hi, Ivan." She stood in front of me, a smirk hanging on her lips.  "What do you want?" I asked in a low voice.  She glanced at Rae, rolled her eyes, and stepped closer. "Can you please tell that woman to leave? She'll invade our privacy?" "Excuse me?" Rae snorted. She ambled over to us, stood beside Tanya, a tiny frown on her facial feature. "Yes, it's fine if you wanna speak with him. It's none of my business. But, can you try to be a little bit nice?" "Hold it right there." With h

We settled to sit on a roadside bench. Goodness knew how Dale always discovered such silent places. I really doubted if anyone would be able to come here to disturb the serenity we felt. I stared up at the dark sky, sighed, and glanced at him. To get his attention off his phone, I took his hand.    "How's everything going on?" I asked. For some unknown reason, I wasn't feeling the friendship and love between us. I couldn't even tell if I was the one acting like a stranger to him. This guy had been my friend for two years, and had been my boyfriend for six months, shortly before I had gotten married to Ivan. He had always been my greatest supporter, so feeling awkward around him just wasn't right.    He smiled at me, intertwining our fingers in each other. "I'm cool. Just that I haven't seen you in a while. So, what's up wit

Like the tired and sleepy person I was, I rolled back and forth on the couch, debating with myself on whether or not it was time to wake up. I had had a crazy night, so it felt like I hadn't gotten enough sleep.  "Are you awake, ma'am?" The tiny voice coming from the side of the couch caught my attention. I opened my eyes a little, peeping through the small opening of the duvet which was over my body. Wait, who was that? Spotting a young, black woman in a casual sky blue dress, something like the maids' uniform, I pulled the duvet off my body swiftly, and sat up. "Oh, hi." I tried to fix my tousled hair, smiling like a confused monkey. I was definitely confused. "Do you need something? I'm… surprised to see you here."

I glanced at the door, sitting on a red, lip shaped couch on the balcony of Ivan's room. Feeling a bit disturbed and uncomfortable, I stood up from the couch, walked to the other side of the large balcony, and leaned my elbows on the handrail. I didn't know why, but I was so terrified. My heart had not beaten this hard in a while.   How could he think of calling me? I thought I had told him not to attempt to do so, as long as I was still married to Ivan.    After a while of debating with myself on whether or not to pick his call, I took a deep breath, and finally swiped my thumb finger across my phone's screen. Yes, I picked his call. After all, Ivan was busy with his work. He probably wouldn't come here.    I breathed in. "Hi, Dale. Hi."

Rae°°°°° As I stared at myself through the mirror on the vanity table, I smiled, adoring how cute I looked. Though I seemed so happy, my heart and mind weren't at peace, at all. I was worried about Dale's loneliness, and at the same time, I was scared he could do something terrible. I knew for a fact that he wasn't patient, and that could absolutely be a big problem for us.  What would he do? Worst of all, I hadn't been able to speak to him long enough. That annoying freak walked into the balcony at the wrong time. Well, the only thing I was glad about was the fact that Ivan hadn't heard my full conversation with Dale. If he had, I'd be exposed.  "Now, you're on track." Dora grinned at me as soon as she was done wearing my jewelry. Now, this

One bad thing I knew about Dale was his anger. Whenever he got angry, it was so hard to try to make him feel better. He could go angry for a month, and wouldn't even think of giving me a call. And, now that he thought I was going too far in this game, there was no doubt that he would interfere in this, and even ruin all of my hard work.    Gulping, I turned to him. His stare became even intenser, no sign of sympathy or remorse hanging in those eyes.    "They won't stop attacking you, will they?" He smirked. "Guess it's because they need their boss to ask them to leave. With a snap of my finger, they'll disappear."   I swallowed the lump of tears in my throat. He had planned all this? Being careful, not wanting Ivan to know Dale and I knew each other, I looked away.

Brenda glared as she pulled her arms around her chest. She snapped her neck in the direction of my car window, sulking so much, and tapping her feet against the floor of my car. Whenever she was super upset, this was how she behaved.    I let out a sigh, a sigh of surrender. "Alright then. I give up. Bad that you don't wanna come in, but I think I understand you."   "You think?!" She snapped, her eyes widened at me. "You're not married to a human! My refusal is valid. Literally, he embarrassed me so much. I just can't imagine going back into that place."   I giggled. This wasn't funny at all, but it just made me laugh. "Oh, sorry, sorry." I waved my hands at her to apologize for laughing, trying so much to hold back my laughter. "Okay, girl. I get you. A hundred percent

This evening was a very awkward one for me. Every now and then, Rhonda and I glimpsed at each other. I was really wondering if Ivan noticed how uncomfortable I was beside her. Well, I hoped he didn't notice it.  "So, how've you guys been?" she asked Ivan.  With mouthful of pancake, he mumbled, "Great, great. My business has been going fine, and uh, my mental health has been cool lately." She beamed with a smile. The smile with a devilish intention. "Aw… sweet. I'm happy about that. And what about your social life? How's your—" she glanced at me. "—relationship with her? I believe I can see some improvements. I see you've been—" With a fake cough, I cut her off. I acted like I choke
