At first light, they came for him. Unlike the situation at his house where they had caught him and Mia before he was aware of what was happening, this time they did not catch Asher unaware. He hadn’t slept a wink after Adaline left. He had spent every hour trying to think of a solution.  His thoughts had alternated between thinking of a way to escape and wondering if Mia was ok. It was not knowing about her that truly ate at him like acid. Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending from which angle he looked at it, Adaline had left him with quite the vivid image of what would happen if he acted foolishly. And even if he had still had a few hard ball ideas to do something, the sight of two men and two wolves entering the warehouse was enough to kill any foolishness in him like a bucket of ice cold water.
