Chapter 11: The Phoenix

"You're up next Ms. Kimberly" a girl informed Anastasia. She made her way backstage when Liam approached her "Anastasia!" She knew that voice well, so she balled her fist in frustration and kept walking but again, as usual, he didn't take a hint "Anastasia! Wait a minute, please". She begrudgingly looked at him but didn't say anything "Hi ....um. I just...look I'm sorry for the other day I didn't mean to upset you or anything. It's just that I've never been rejected before and that got the best of me. I'm sorry. I just wanted to say congratulations for making it to the finals and wish you all the best for the final round" he gave her a charming smile, the smile she used to melt over in her last life however now it only made her want to punch him even more. Without acknowledging him she turned around and walked away as if he didn't speak all those words to her, however he didn't give up "Anastasia please, I really love you. Please give us a chance, let me take you out after the compe

Chapter 12: It's a surprise

Anastasia's POV-I reached home physically and mentally tired. As I entered I saw my father and stepmother already waiting for me in the living room. I rushed to my father and hugged him. I'm grateful that nothing had happened and it was just a false alarm, but why would someone call up randomly and lie about this. "Congratulations dear! I'm so proud of you my girl. I'm sure if your mother was here she would have felt the same" my father said proudly. His words made me smile. My stepmother came to me patted my head and hugged me too "I'm sorry sweety, about the news I gave you. I was just so shocked and didn't know what to do. Cordelia was unreachable, I tried calling your father, but he too didn't respond" I knew it wasn't her fault, she panicked too "it's alright mom, I can understand, it's not your fault" I hugged her back. "Oh enough with all this you two, I'm fine and in front of you, it's time to celebrate my daughter's success" my father interrupted. "Oh! Be

Chapter 13: Time for a swim

It was a forty-five minutes drive from my place and I still don't know where we are heading. Hades tried making small conversations but I answered him briefly, I wasn't a morning person and didn't feel like talking, and on top of that I was getting hungry and this drive seemed to take forever. He understood I wasn't in a mood, so he kept quiet, silent music playing in the background. We reached a forest-covered area and I got a little excited thinking we were going on a trek "Is it what I think it is? Are we going on a trek" I'm sure he could see my eyes lit up with excitement? "Yes and no. Well, we aren't going on a trek today, but we can always plan on another day. Today we are going to trail through the forest and when we are done I'm sure you'll love it" I was still excited, trailing is fun too. Surrounded by nature is something I've always loved. Did he already know it was one of my hobbies? I'm sure he did, he did say he's investigated me, I thought to myself. "Here! Take this

Chapter 14: Never judge a book by it's cover

Hades's POV- She's absolutely beautiful. When I asked her out I didn't know where I'd take her or what I'd do, the only thing I knew was she deserved the best. I already know her likes and dislikes, her hobbies, the things she enjoys most, and so I planned the day accordingly. But seeing her happy as she was mesmerized by the place, made me happy too. I used to come here with my parents when I was young, my father had gifted this place to my mother and this was the place where he proposed to her so it held a lot of meaning. I still don't know why I like her. She's beautiful, yes, but I've seen a lot of beauties and none have compared to her. Her personality? Damn, she's a spitfire! She looks like she can take over the world. I always saw how deeply in love my parents were and still are, and secretly always wished that I found my forever too. But I lost hope, every girl I had been with was just another bitch, who wanted to be with me for the title and the money. It was a

Chapter 15: Insecurities

"Both of you need to calm down, I just said I was pursuing her, she hasn't said yes...yet" I said scratching the nape of my neck. Patty moved forward and held Ana's hands "Did he do something dear? Let me know, I'll give him enough beatings to set him straight. Is he not treating you well ?" "I...uh..no... that's not the reason Ms...?" She hesitated and looked at me, but before I could answer Patty spoke again "oh just call me Patty, dear, that's fine" "Oh okay Patty" "So tell me what's wrong why haven't you said a yes?" I saw Ana trying to come up with an excuse, but she just gaped. I thought it was enough for the day, so I stepped in "Patty relax, she hasn't said a yes, but she's ready to give me a chance, so nothing to worry about. Now, can we please have your special dish, we are starving." "Oh right ...right... I just got excited and forgot to offer you anything, I'll get it right away kids. Common Mark, we have

Chapter 16: The orphanage

Anastasia's POV- I was still thinking about what Patty said. She asked me to give Hades a chance, that he seemed happy after a long time. There was a glint of happiness that was shining in his eyes because of my presence. I don't know how much of what she said was true, but I did know that he made me happy too. He did show me a different side of him today. However, there's still a long way to go for me to accept someone in my life or think of having a companion. I was still a long way from getting my retribution. I could see from the corner of my eyes that he was trying to gauge my reaction to everything, but I'm sure he wouldn't find any because for the first time in forever I felt peaceful, I was relaxed and my mind was not racing to be alert at all times and think about counter-attacking my enemies. "Ana?" I realized Hades was talking to me " yeah...sorry I was lost in my thoughts"I gave him a sheepish smile. He just chucked "it's alright...I just wanted to check

chapter 17: The dream date

I made my way downstairs, but the place was suddenly so quiet. I was waiting for Hades, there was still no sign of him. Suddenly another boy came up to me and handed me another letter. I knew the dress would look perfect on your love! Now take the blindfold from Kevin and tie it.And don't worry Kevin and Tracy will bring you to me. I looked at the boy I assumed was Kevin who had a beaming smile on his face, I smiled too and crouched down to his leve

Chapter 18: He'll rot in hell, I promise!

The event was boring, father introduced me to some of his associates, as I'll be dealing with them in the future. Cordelia tried speaking and making small conversations here and there, Liam also tried approaching from time to time but all I did was excused myself and dodge them as much as I could. I had this nagging feeling that they were up to something. Eventually, they gave up and I sighed in relief. I was getting impatient now, I looked at the entrance again and again for a familiar face. Suddenly my phone buzzed, it was mom, I got puzzled and looked around, she was nowhere to be seen. I answered "Ana sweetheart I'm not feeling well, I'm in room 2040, can you please come here and help me and bring Cordelia if you see her, she's not answering her phone" huh? "What's wrong? I'll be on my way, let me go get Cordelia, and we'll be there" I hung up and started searching for Cordelia, but she was nowhere to be seen, I looked around for father, but he was busy with his partners,

chapter 19: Someone else has already stolen my sister's, precious heart

Anastasia woke up the next day with a pounding headache. She sat up and placed her head on the headrest of the bed. She tried to remember what happened. She couldn't understand why her stepmother would call her suddenly and then instead of her, she met Liam. "Is she helping them?" She thought and felt a pang of hurt "I need to confront her before concluding, even if the situation says otherwise, I want to know what excuse she'd give" she freshened up and went downstairs for breakfast. Jonathan saw her and rushed towards her "Ana, how are you dear? Are you feeling alright? Do you want me to call the doctor?" He was extremely worried about his daughter. "Father! I'm alright. Calm down. I'm feeling much better now, but how did I get home?" She didn't know what happened after she was unconscious. She remembers someone pushed Liam off her. Did Hades reach in time? She had so many questions. As if on queue, the doorbell rang, Jonathan left her side, and went to open the door. All of them

Chapter 20: The annoying ex

Ana paced around her room, frustrated and restless. She didn't know what to think of her stepmother anymore, should she trust her or not. Suddenly her phone started ringing, it was an unknown number "Good Morning! Am I speaking with Anastasia Kimberly?" "Yes, who am I speaking with?""Ms. Kimberly, I'm Jenny, this is regarding your internship with Moretti & Co. We'd like to know how soon can you start?""I can start within a week, we'll be on a summer break starting next week""Alright, that's great. I'll email you the time, address, and the documents that you'll require to finish your joining process" "Thankyou" "You're welcome, Ms. Kimberly! See you soon" Ana sighed "At least now I have something to look forward to" The following day she met a worried Ashley"Ana! Where were you? You just left me all alone at that event. I tried calling you but you just disappeared from the face of the earth" she said e
