Chapter 40: Sorry
They just finished taking a bath together, a bathrobe wrapped around her body and a towel wrapped around his hip. She winced slightly and wrapped her arms around his stomach from behind. “Does it hurt?” Kook asked his wife and turned his head slightly. “Just a little bit,” she admitted. Yes, they were having a good time in bed and followed to the bath. It was steamy, heated, and exciting. They always found a way to try new things as a married couple and they were loving it so far. They walked out of the bathroom and to their room to change. After they were dressed, Kook grabbed her face with both of his hands and kissed her on the lips. Their moment got interrupted by a blaring phone from the nightstand. He looked at his phone and walk towards it to pick it up. He saw Cayne’s name on it. “Cayne,” Kook picked up the call and greeted him shortly.

Chapter 41: Talk
Katherine had been holding on to his hand from the moment they got out of the car. She was holding it too tight for him to not be bothered. “Katherine.” He let out a harsh sigh and pulled his hand to tuck of hers. “Enough, she’s not going to eat you alive.” “Then would she, if I am dead first?” She asked and shot him a glare. He sighed again and just let it go. He brought his hand up and formed a fist to knock on the door. Knock. Knock. “Are we expecting a guess?” Jilly asked Cayned with a frown. It was dinner time, were people not aware of that to visit someone’s house?                                “Maybe,” Cayne shrugged. He ha

Chapter 42: Barbeque
Jilly kept her words to let Katherine meet Grace and at first, Cayne was against it for an unknown reason. But, Jilly reminded him that he couldn’t be selfish and needed to let people embrace them and Kook, of course, made a fuss of protest to Cayne.                            As it was getting late in the night, Jilly announced it was time for bed. “Where do you stay?” Jilly asked as the three of them stood up and for Cayne to escort them out. Grace, who couldn’t keep her eyes open to see the guests leave just fell asleep in her mother’s arm. “We’ll see wherever is available and close by. I hope to see you again tomorrow.” Kook answered. “Then just stay here, we have rooms available since Mama Ria and Marco are no

Chapter 43: Love
“Where’s Cayne?” Jilly asked aloud to anyone that could hear her. She needed him, where was he when she woke up? He was not beside her and not waking her up. She had a problem with that. “You should not scold him, child. He was just opening the door for me.” Mariah tried to spare her son-in-law. Jilly was known best for her torture in many ways and she would not back down or back away from it when she was determined to do the job. “I was just asking about him, Mama Ria. Is it wrong?” Jilly turned to Mariah again who had a worried look. She did feel guilty a little bit for putting Cayne on the edge. “No, it’s not wrong. Marco! Where’s Cayne?” Mariah quickly averted her gaze towards her son wherever he was at the moment.                    &nb

Chapter 44: Wrapped
The family everyone waiting for finally made their appearance. Mariah made her way to Grace as soon as they came down. She took Grace away from Cayne and parade her to everyone. She was never tired to gush Grace to everyone.                            “Do you want something to eat?” Cayne asked Jilly. Not everything was ready but there was something they could eat.   “Hmm, sure,” Jilly replied shortly. Cayne frowned at her off behavior. She looked distracted for some reason he didn’t know about and he felt restless. She seemed okay a while ago in the bedroom. He felt like she had a double personality and it got him on his toes.   “I’ll get them and bring them to you.” He said and Jilly nodded. He walked away and Jilly felt like she finally could breathe. She was acting weird and had a reason for th

Chapter 45: Jam
After everyone left in the evening, Kook and Katherine did too. They decided to get a hotel room for the rest of the visit here. Cayne just had to wait for his family to come and he would introduce them to Jilly’s family.“How are your legs?” They were laying down on the bed trying to relax after the long tiring day. Thankfully, Grace was fast asleep in her room. Cayne suddenly sat up and moved closer to the end of the bed. He started to massage her legs softly as they keep the conversation going. He loved moments like this which they barely did back then. Small talks and late-night and even pillow talk, he always looked forward to them.“Do you know the way around here now?” Jilly asked as they had lived here for a few weeks now and Cayne was the one who go here and there to get something for the household, he barely go out either if Marco didn’t ask him to. They both got along pretty well and she was glad for that.“I

Chapter 46: Whisper
“Should we go to the store together with Grace?” Cayne asked Jilly as he was getting ready to go out to get groceries just like what she had asked him. “We can go to the park after that.” He continued to persuade her. It would be good not only for Jilly but also Grace to come out of the house to refresh their eyes. He always thought it was nice to go out as a family like he saw on the street whenever he went out.                          “No,” she refused almost immediately. “Why? Not even for Grace?” He looked at her hopefully. “Don’t even try to lure me with Grace.” She glared at him which shut him up right away. “Just this once, Jilly. I want to be able to go out with my family, you and Grace. I always e

Chapter 47: Re-do
“What was that?” Cayne asked but his eyes keep an eye on Vincent who walked away mysteriously.   “Nothing, let’s go and hurry up.” The cold demeanor change in her was very noticeable and the way her eyes hardened was proof that something Vincent said disturbed her. She started walking first not minding Cayne’s curious eyes. She walked in hurry and almost skip using the crutches like she was walking normally. She didn’t care, all she cared about was getting to Marcus’ house right after this shopping was done.   “Walk slowly, Jilly. It will hurt your legs.” But his words went out as fast as they went in, it passed like the wind and leave no trace.   Jilly took the lead and put the groceries she needed in the cart without talking to him anymore. Cayne was more careful now and just watched her every move. What happened? That was what he wondered. Something must be wrong to make her look rigid. At that moment, he didn’t see J

Chapter 48: Vertigo
They arrived at their house and get off the car, they usually walk to the door but when Cayne saw Kook already in there he stopped her right at the front door. “Why do you need them to come over?” He asked. “You’ll see,” her reply was short but not satisfying. That sort of answer was always making people keep wondering and wouldn’t stop asking. “Jilly, please, you’re being so cold towards me after you see that guy. You didn’t even tell me who that guy was, let alone telling me what he said to you.” Brag! She pushed him to the glass window while holding on to the crutches tightly. She pinned him to the glass making the guests inside of their house jump in surprise. His eyes widened at the sudden attack she throw at him. Her eyes were now burning in anger. “You don&rsquo

Chapter 49: Sold
After Katherine gave Jilly a glass of water, she was left alone in the kitchen as requested. She drank the water as she looked outside of her backyard, she still had the hammock they put up together years ago. Why it was still there? She had no idea.   “It’s not in his tooth. I would probably say in the nape.” Kook said and Jilly turned around to face him and then nodded.   “Call Marcus and ask his private doctor to come here and do a little surgery,” Jilly said to him as she glanced at Cayne. She got disappointed again by him even though it was unintentional. “I’ll be upstairs when changes are notified.”   “Have you eaten, Jilly?”   “Yes,” she replied shortly and then got off the chair to walk up to her bedroom. “Don’t let anyone bother me.” She continued but it was spoken directly to Cayne if he got what she meant.   “I’ll try.” Kook couldn’t promise something that might be bro
