Chapter Sixty
Kyra- It was a little off putting being around so many people, I don’t think I will ever truly get used to it. Yet I was having the time of my life. Gone were the thoughts of my troubles, as I was enjoying myself. It may take some time, but I was thinking that maybe pack life was agreeable. Standing next to Hunter as he discussed pack politics with his father, I tried to pay attention. It was all very confusing, and my head was hurting from information overload, but I found it fascinating. Who would have guessed that I was soon to be the Luna and standing beside an Alpha to lead a pack. I know I sure hadn’t. Then again there was a lot of things I hadn’t thought would ever happen to me. “I don’t see why you insist on seeing to everyone’s training, Hunter. That is the Gamma’s responsibility.” Hunter’s father was saying. “No, Nick’s job is to oversee the warriors. It is an Alpha’s duty to look out for the best interest of the pack. I don’t oversee the tr

Hunter- “Alpha, there is a man approaching the border.” Aiden linked me and I inwardly groaned. Was it really so hard to have one night where there wasn’t an issue? “I am on my way.” I linked back. Turning to Kyra, leaned in to press my lips to her cheeked. I really didn’t want to leave her, I know she was feeling overwhelmed with everything right now. She had just opened her twentieth present and there was still a pile of gifts on the table. I appreciated the effort the pack has made to make her feel welcomed, but I can see that she still needs time to adjust to everything. “I have to go check on something, do you want me to send over Brett or Caleb?” I whispered into her ear. “I think I will be okay, hurry back though, okay?” She whispered back. “I’ll be back before you know I am gone. If it gets to be too much for you, let Caleb know and he will send everyone home.” I spoke, a little louder so Caleb can overhear me, who was standing

Kyra- “Hunter!” I cried out, my body unable to move. I felt like my chest was being held down by an unseeable force and I couldn’t breathe. My body felt numb and every time I attempted to move, another sob escaped me. It was like I was drowning and no matter how hard I struggled, I couldn’t surface. I tried to reach out to Alexia, but I came up with nothing. I was alone once again, and I just wanted everything to end. If I was going to die, I just wanted it to be over with. Everything I tried was of no use and I was trapped within my mind. Was there no end to my suffering? Just when I think that my life is finally getting better, I am hit with another challenge. Each one was worse than the last. I don’t know what I did to deserve everything I went through, all I knew was that I wanted it to stop. I was so tired of trying and trying but never getting anywhere. Nothing in my life was ever going to get better. I didn’t even know why I bothered to try so

Chapter Sixty-Three
Kyra- “Little One, did you hear me? I said your Biological father came here last night.” Hunter Stated again as if I didn’t hear him the first two times. I had heard him as clear as day, but just couldn’t believe what I was hearing. My father had been here, and I hadn’t known. Not that I hadn’t already known it was going to be just a matter of time before I met him. Heck Selene had already warned me of such. Though, I wasn’t sure how I was supposed to feel about it. On one hand I was angry at Hunter for keeping this bit of information from me until now. On the other hand, how was one even supposed to feel about a man that she had never met and was the one who had sired her? There seriously needs to be a manual for these things. “Kyra?” Hunter pressed when I have still not answered him. “What?” I asked, still trying to wrap my head around everything. “Did you hear me?” He asked, his brows drawn together in concern. “Yeah, I hear

Hunter- To say I was pissed was putting it mildly. The nerve of this guy waltzing right into my territory and no one even knowing it until he was standing right in front of the packhouse. If it hadn’t been for Aiden, Caleb would have surely attacked him. Aiden had been the one to find him standing on the porch and had let him just come right in. I needed to have a talk with Aiden about that. I didn’t care if he was the King of all wolves or not, or even Kyra’s father. For him to just come right in unannounced and was seriously pissing me off. I had every intention of letting him know just where he could stick it, but I was trying hard to keep my temper under wraps for the sake of Kyra. No doubt in my mind she was going to have a hard enough time with this all, let alone dealing with my outburst. It certainly wasn’t the kind of meeting I wanted her to have with her father. She must be in turmoil right now. I couldn’t even imagine what I would feel if I had a f

The Alpha King- Well, that I had not expected. My daughter just called me out and put me in my place. Never in my existence have I ever been talked to like that. Even Selene knew better than to have a condescending tone with me. I had expected her to be upset at the very least, but she showed nothing. Kyra had grown beautifully, and I can see that one day she would do her mother and I both proud. I had wished I could have been there as she grew up, but alas I was not able to be. I hated that prophecy. Of course, one day she would step into Selene’s shoes and take over, but those hags of fate just had to open their mouths and place a prophecy over her. Because of this prophecy, my daughter had to grow up under the watchful eyes of another. I hadn’t like what I had heard about the man, I was just thankful that Selene had been there for Kyra. I at least was able to hear some details of how our daughter was fairing. If it weren’t for the war that has been

Kyra- I couldn’t believe I had pulled it off. Managing to walk out of that office holding onto my composure had to have been the hardest thing I had ever done. If it hadn’t been for Alexia talking me into letting him stay, I think I probably would have told him to leave. Alexia thought it would be a good idea to keep him around. For several reasons, mainly so I can learn more about where I came from. I had always thought that my father was just a wolf, but I could feel the power oozing off him. Not quite as strong as Selene. From what I did know was that Selene was a Goddess, but did that make my father a God? I mean I guess, but while he gave off the presence of a God, he wasn’t just that. My curiosity was definitely peaked. After Lunch, Hunter said he had to do somethings with the pack and he asked if I wanted to come, even though I wasn’t technically a member of the pack, I declined. I had other things that I was wanting to do. Namely, go speak to my fathe

Kyra- Waking up in Hunter’s office, I was a bit disappointed that he still hasn’t returned yet. Getting up, I put up the blanket and pillows and headed to the kitchen. When I got to the kitchen only then did I realize I slept later than I thought. I found a note on the counter addressed to me. “I hope you got some rest sleepy head. I left a plate for you and Hunter in the fridge. -Love Lucy.” I smiled at her thoughtfulness and placed the note back on the counter. Opening up the fridge, I saw that both plates were still there, which confused me why Hunter wasn’t back yet. Looking up at the clock on the wall, I saw that it was a quarter past nine. I was hungry, but I was more concerned that Hunter wasn’t back yet. “Caleb, have you seen Hunter?” I linked. “Not since four when he called the meeting to a close. Why what’s up?” Caleb responded. “He still isn’t back yet.” I replied. “Weird. Check the training building. I think I seen

Hunter- I am such an idiot. I wanted Kyra with a burning passion, but I had to remember she wasn’t someone I can just take in the heat of the moment. She was pure and I almost deflowered her on the workout bench. She deserved so much better than that, what in the hell was I thinking? I had lost control with her, and I couldn’t do that with her. I was struggling to keep my distance from her, her arousal was intoxicating. I could smell how wet she was from nearly clear across the room. If I hadn’t stopped when I did, I would have claimed her right then and there, the hell with the repercussions. I was nearly panting from the lack of breath I couldn’t seem to catch. I needed to regain control, she was sitting there with my scent all over here and her lips were swollen from how hard I had been kissing her. Her cheeks were flushed, and her hair was a hot mess. She looked sexy and it was taking every bit of strength I possessed to not attack her and claim her.

The Alpha King- “Come on Kyra. Push back.” I said as Kyra slammed against the wall for the twentieth time this morning. “Do you have to be so hard on her?” Hunter asked, I could hear the frustration in his voice. I know Kyra insisted on Hunter being her, but he was starting to get on my last nerve. I was trying to teach Kyra how to control her energy, but Hunter kept distracting her and babying her. There wasn’t enough time to teach Kyra all that I could in the time I was able to stay, so I had to push her past her limits. She was of my blood, so I knew she could handle it if only Hunter would back off. “If you don’t like the way I train her, you can leave.” I said, keeping my voice as cold as I could, wanting to make it obvious of my disdain of him. “If you keep going as you are, you are going to kill her.” Hunter complained. I didn’t take my eyes off Kyra, she was currently kneeling on the ground where she landed after hitting the wa
