Lahat ng Kabanata ng Heiress of Rome: Kabanata 41 - Kabanata 50

"Master Jacob, Lady Krista, come join us in our morning meal!" Came Gaius' voice from the other side of the door waking Trix up.She watched as Jacob make his way to greet their host."We will join you shortly. And please sir we are no nobleborns." Jacob said as he peeked out the door."We will be down in the dining room." Gaius said in response and left."I don't have any clothes that would suit this place." Jacob said with a worried face.Trix stood and opened the chest at the foot of the bed."It seems our gracious host has taken care of that for us. Come take a look at this." She called to Jacob.

The sun had set on Rome. Hector was anxious. His captive was comfortably seated on a couch across the room from him. For a kid that grew up on he streets Jacob seemed learned, this made Hector cautious around the boy."Lord Hector I recommend you calm down. I'm sure Krista will be fine." The boy said as he examined a trinket on the table. "Although I must admit I am surprised at the concern you've shown for Krista. I've not known a master to care so much about his spy."Hector looked at the boy, trying to pick up any signs of him realizing who Krista actually was."I care for the safety of all my staff." Hector replied flatly."If I may speak so boldly sir?" Jacob asked in a tone that Hector was not sure if the boy was mocking him.Hector looked at him and nodded."I almost thought that she was your.... Errr... Woman of comfort." Jacob said.Hector's blood began to boil. The nerve of this boy to speak in such a way

Upon their return to Gaius' home the nobleman welcomed them with glee. He asked Trix how she had managed to save Jacob from Lord Hector's arrest. When given a suffice answer he allowed them to retire from the night, implying that Jacob needed to do something in thanks for Trix saving him. They soon managed to escape the nobleman's badgering."So how was the palace?" Trix asked as they prepared to turn in for the night. "Did Lore hector treat you well?""He did. I was allowed to stay in a large room, fed rich foods, and kept comfortable." Jacob said smiling."I am glad to hear that. Did you meet anyone there?" Trix asked."No." He said shaking his head. "I had a guard at my door at all times and only Lord Hector was allowed in.""Well I'm glad you enjoyed your day of pampering while I was sneaking around." Trix teased as she climbed onto the bed."So what are you planning to do about the Lady Livia?" Jacob asked."For the moment I do n

"Was your day fruitful?" Jacob asked as he entered their room.Trix looked up and smiled at him."I guess it was then. What did you do today Krista?" He asked as he set his daggers aside."I met a new friend." Trix said with a large grin on her face."Why am I worried about this new friend of yours?" Jacob asked."Her name is Lady Aria, wife to nobleman Gaius." At this Trix winked towards Jacob's direction."And did you tell her who you were?""Wife to one of Gaius' men. She isn't as dumb as they think Jacob." Krista said."No one

Trix could not believe what she was hearing. Lord Felix was arranging his marriage to Gaius daughter, a woman clearly of much lower rank than him. It was uncharacteristic."I would be honored my lord for such a union to occur." Lord Gaius said with a grin. "It most definitively would further strengthen our plans.""What plans?" Felix asked the older man."My plans for my children sir." Gaius said quickly covering up what he had let slip, leaving Trix much more confused than ever."Ah, a father good must indeed look after his kin. Tell me sir when might I meet your daughter?" Felix asked."We could arrange for a small gatherin
