Chapter 30: Rival
“Again? Are you out of your mind, Cole?” “I’m not. Let me pass through, Marcus.” “Hey, hey, If that woman again diverts your attention, I swear I’m gonna be the one who’ll drive her away.” “Okay, listen. I was not the one who forced her to come with me. She pleaded to be with me.”           There’s something in my head that goes irritated, causing me to pinch his skin below his arms with my eyes still close. I could’ve enjoyed my sleep if it weren’t because of these two people arguing noisily.           If I’m not mistaken, I heard that voice

“I said I don’t have to. Everything’s fine, what are you worrying about?” I repeated when he again dragged me out of the room. “And there is nothing wrong getting you checked up. What are you worrying about?” he nagged, making me breathe in heavily and force a smile out. “Get out. You have a lot of work to do, why don’t you prioritize that first, huh?”           His eyes narrowed looking at me. “Why have you changed so suddenly? You’re laughing and joking a while ago, then here you are glaring at me irritatedly.”           My knees collapsed without any warning and streams of water started gushing out of my eyes.     &nb

Chapter 32: Falling down the Cliff
Three months later… “Do you have any updates from the frontier?” I asked the moment I opened the wooden door leading to the headquarters.           But instead of an answer, a woman with her long red hair raised her head and gave out a contemptuous glare at me. “I have.” “What is it?”  “Hmm,” she sneered and placed both her palm on the table afore her, forming a mocking vibe towards me. “You don’t have to know. Unless… you became the Luna.”           I scowled at her and slapped the glass table between us. My lips automatically smirked arrogantly as I tilt

Chapter 33: My child
A storm of arrows was buzzing and fizzing through the sky. A blizzard of spears was shrilling and slicing through. Battering and beating the enemies under a sunless empyrean. A lesion of lodestar-bright light illuminated the benighted sky.            The battleground became slimy with intestines scattered and greasy with gore. Titian-red blood spurted from their wounds as men wailed and screamed. Sounds of bones were snapping and shattering as a flood of horrendous rebels broke the lines of defenses.           The effluvium of death was all around. The battlefield had been baptized in blood and the bitter, mordant perfume of corpses emanated from it. This is the scenario I see afore me. I can’t define it even more than a single word… This is horror.       &n

Chapter 34: I love you…
“I have built walls around me for years to stop this stupid thing called ‘mates’. I didn’t expect this to happen any sooner than I expected.”“Maybe there was a reason why he forced you out. Maybe because… like you, he has something to protect. I-I don’t think he’s that bad.” You think?“What if you try loving him back, Denise?” Hearing that, I chuckled. “How about you? Why don’t you try loving your mate back?”“Hey, it is your matter. Not mine. We have different situations, Denise. Don’t change the course,” she grumped and tightened the bandage intentionally, making me exclaim in pain. “Get it?” I nodded and diverted my eyes to the vast mountains afore the opened window. “I don’t trust people I just bumped at. I don’t want to trust mates particularly.”“But at least try to?” she repeated. My mouth shut. “Maybe it could be the one healing the scars of the past.”“I don’t want to take a risk, Sydney,” I quickly replied. “I’ve had enough damage w

Chapter 35: Everytime
Third Person’s POV           The warm breeze swift past through her long blue-tainted hair. The sound of sea waves crashing through the rocks by the shore made the place so calming. There were no destructive bombings, no clashing of blades, and no cries that fills the air.           Just like the first time he brought her here.           She was wearing a flowing dress. There is this golden tinted lace that was encircling her neck and which holds the fabric covering her chest. On her arms wrapped a long blue silken fabric that extends down to the ground.           It was of different shades of blue. From darker on top and then it became lighter as it strides down to the ground. There wer

Chapter 36: It is Her I have to lose
The open place was filled with mourning cries. Of heartbreaking screams and desolations. The once vast field only occupied by grasses was now columned with stones engraved with names and numbers. Not hundreds but thousands of tombstones.           The war may have ended a few days ago but it left too much scars and wounds still bleeding. Nightshade lost half of its population and has its economy shattering. “Have you sent the letter?” Zaetron’s sister, Nevaeh, asked.           The Alpha nodded in reply, not quitting his eyes off the people on the field. “Do you think this was part of Father’s expectation?” Zaetron asked her. His sister tappe

Chapter 37: Rillejos
Zaetron Cole’s POV “You be good to your aunt, Keith. Alright?”            My son grinned with all his teeth showing out and his thumb pointed up. “I’m always a good boy, aren’t I?”            I gathered up a deep breath as my eyes closed, taking out the patience I have. “No, everybody knows you’re not.” He got all his facial features from me, but his temper and attitude? He resembles a lot like hers!           Keith frowned and jumped down from Nevaeh’s arms. “I know,” he agreed. “Can I come with you instead?” His deceiving pleading eyes emerged as his

Chapter 38: The Representative
Third Person’s POV “Dad, psst.”           Zaetron gently raised his hand towards the grand desk in excuse when Keith again tugged his tux. With his son seated on his side, he has to bend down to level his face. “What?”           An hour had passed when they arrived here at the council’s manor. As for this time, only the Alphas of Abberant, Madfur, Nightshade, and Sanguine were present. And just like the conference last year, all were wearing their suit to their own satisfaction. Marco Czeslaw of Sanguine pack wears this white-colored sleeve opened with three buttons, topped with a black suit, and partnered with dark trousers. On his upper left corner, the chest part is embroider

Chapter 39: Adriane Rillejos
“The intrusion of the vampires on the Kitezh part has risen up since the last attack inflicted by Abberant and Sanguine,” the second Panel alluded. “Have the both of you known that the vampire territory in the west was now uninhabited?” The three Panels were now grilling Diego Alfarro and Marco Czeslaw being the alphas of the said packs. Referring to the incident that dates back two decades ago. The war between the vampiric Daghum territory against Sanguine pack that almost dragged in a quarter of another vampiric territory, the Sinandaya. That battle was then followed by the Abberant pack’s sequential ambush attacks to several vampire towns along Sinandaya territory, causing the kingdom’s total fallout by the second year. And now, Sinandaya kingdom was nowhere to be seen. As if it had disappeared like a popped bubble.“Abberant will only stop at attacks if vampire mutineers would surrender in the Senate,” Diego answered frankly, sitting straight and chin up. Seri
