"You better run faster than that," he snarled from behind me.  Tears brimmed my eyes as I ran. I couldn't believe what was happening. I heard the stories of how some kids have tantrums during their fist shift, or how their wolf is a blood-thirsty monster, but I never thought that Aaron would be like that. All of a sudden I heard his cackling and his footsteps stop with an oomph. I stopped dead in my tracks, turned around, and came face-to-face with my brother. How'd he get over here so quickly? I stepped back and tripped over a fallen tree branch, making me land on my bottom.  "P-please stop," I whimpered.  He gave me an evil smirk, diving right at me.

Channing POV I wiped my face off with a sweat rag, my breaths labored from running. Jacob stood, or more like sat, next to me on the dirt ground just outside of the training facility. His breaths were much quicker than mine and he could barely stand. I chuckled to myself as he finished off a third bottle of water and dumped a fifth onto his head.  "You alright down there?" I questioned.  His closed eyes snapped open and met mine, tiredness clear all over his face. "Yea...I just haven't...ever ran...that much before," he tried.  I chuckled under my breath.  "We only ran ten miles. A marathon

"What are you making?" My mates deep voice asked from behind, causing me to jump. I didn't turn around, just stayed focused on pressing the edges of the little squares. Aura was a little disappointed that we didn't smell him, though we were kind of in our own world. "Ravioli," I answered simply with a shrug of my shoulders. I continued pressing the fork around the edges of the dough before grabbing another and filling the center with cheese and Italian sausage I had to scour the house for, then repeating the pressing like I had several times before. "It smells amazing," he complemented. I was glad I was turned around so he couldn't see the flush in my cheeks. "Thanks." He sighed and I could feel him come closer making the hair on the back of my neck stand and goosebumps to cover my being. I mentally cursed this damn bond for doing this to me. I don't want to feel this way towards him. "

The meatballs I pulled out of the oven sat on an unused burner on the stove to cool. Tate would be in here in nearly twenty minutes and I was scrambling to get the harvest potatoes finished. All day I had been lazy and bored. This Saturday, apparently, was the day that Christine and Henry decided to leave pack grounds for the day to enjoy themselves. I didn't mind, but I was ready to finally plan a shopping trip with Cleo or even a day just driving around outside of pack territory. The potatoes still had seventeen minutes left to bake, so I decided to chop up some lettuce I gathered from the pack garden. I also got some tomatoes and kale from there. Christine said that kale was good for your immune system and that for how much I've been training, I should start eating it. It's pretty bitter and doesn't have much flavor other than that

"Alright little warrior let's see what you got," Cristian said, prowling his way around me in the ring. I cracked my neck and smirked deviously. Tate stood at the edge of the circle, arms folded across his chest and lips in a thin line. He was putting up a good facade, too bad I good see straight through it and noticed how much he was fretting over this sparring match. Damn mother hen is what he is. Last night while doing the dishes he suggested I train in the rings like he used to. Aura was ecstatic and honestly as was I, considering I've never had the opportunity to train let alone spar. He claimed it was mainly so 'when we spar for your initiation, you don't look weak.' I stomped on his toe for that one. That asshole knows damn well I could probably have him in the dirt just like his mother. I've experimented fighting with Nathan when I was 13 and beat him up pretty bad. My friend wa

The black t-shirt dress felt smooth against my skin, not irritating my wounds one bit. Blondie suggested I wear something like this for when the Luna comes in and I'm glad I listened, although I won't tell him that since I was so against wearing a dress in the first place. Growing up sporting rags and gross hand-me-downs meant that all those old t-shirts fit me like dresses; hence me despising wearing them in the first place. After Jacob had left, I practically inhaled the delicious eggs, pancakes, and bacon made by Christine. Never in my life have I eaten so much food in one day- that I can recall anyways. Tate's mother, Luna Frances, hasn't come to see me yet. It's been several hours so I decided to clean myself up to go down and meet her myself. Aura feels excited to meet the mother of the man we're destined to, but I'm just nervous; internally shaking because I'm not sure if she'll

The blinds shielding the windows of Frances's office didn't do much to block out the afternoon sun shining through, creating  yellow lines on the wall behind me. Tate sat next to me in the red cushioned chair, gripping my hand in his. Aura was beginning to appreciate his touch, slowly forgiving him for his sin, but I couldn't yet. My hand in his only added gasoline to the fire, more strength to the bond that kept pulling the other end of the rope. Frances stood in the left corner of the room, humming to herself as she combed through files and files to find the one on the Black Moon. I shifted in my seat, trying to rid my body of the sparks shooting through it from our hands entwined. My palm fit so perfectly in his. It made me nervous to think that I was liking this so much. I was giving in and he knew it; the satisfied smirk that tugged at his lips gave him away with ease.

I wiped the wetness from under my eyes and cleared my throat. "Come in," I told Tate. I knew this will be the day that the bond finally succeeds and pulls me into the mud while standing triumphantly, preparing to surrender me to my mate. I'm still wary, Aura whispered, her tone suggestive, betraying her words as I knew her body felt indifferent than her mind. She wants our mate and I believe that I finally do as well. His scrambling feet barged into my room, his blue eyes boring into mine as he hastily zipped over to me. His large hands enveloped me into his embrace, his face burying itself into my neck to sniff furiously in order to calm himself and his wolf. I sighed in content as I breathed in his intoxicating scent as well. I could feel my wounds mending faster from his touch. For once the thoughts of his affair, his poor leadersh

Sunlight barely peeked into my room since the curtains were drawn. I sighed in relief as my eyes didn't have to adjust so much. Quickly, I rubbed my blue orbs to clear them of last night's sleep. My naked body stayed wrapped in blankets comfortably as I remembered everything. Part of my feels pathetic for crying while trying to mate; the other part of me is proud that I didn't pass out from the stress of the memories I relived. That would've been worse. Stretching, I subconsciously reached for Tate and frowned when he wasn't in my four post bed next to me. Maybe he changed his mind. The thought from Aura drifted through my head. Anxiety creeped up my throat but I forced it down hard. No. I believed him when he said he loved us, I stated, mostly to reassure myself. A smile grew on my

"So, Love, what do you want to do today?" Tate asked, his hand rubbing circles on my hip while he stood over me, eyes blazing into mine while we stood in the dining room. Everyone had just left from lunch, most likely understanding that I wanted to be alone with Tate after listening to Frances give us all kinds of suggestions about the ceremony. "I'd like to go through the rest of the files your mom has," I admitted. Tate nodded and tightened his grip on me. "We can go get them then take them to my office. I'll call Layton while we're up there too I guess," he sighed out. I smiled lightly before pressing my face into his chest and inhaling. Us being marked almost doesn't seem real. Just yesterday afternoon I internally fought myself about him carrying me down the stairs and today, if he offered, I'd already be in his arms. "I love you
