Chapter Six Part Two
A few Mavi’s that passed by us stared at me as if I was a specimen on display at a museum. I looked at Mike with a puzzled expression. He looks back at me. “You have red eyes.”, he indicated by pointing at my eyes. “Oh.” my mouth forming an ‘O’. I hadn’t realized until now that everyone in here has blue eyes. I instinctively looked down, now conscious about my eyes. I heard Mike chuckle beside me. “Don’t worry, they won’t bite. We just don’t see red eyed guys like you in our place.” He assured me. But I don’t know if that really did assure me. “And let’s get you dry clothes first before I explain to you why Leah brought you here.” He pointed with his thumb towards a stall down to a few te

Chapter Seven
After we ate that heavenly meat from the pub, we went to look for Mike –  finding him in the most unusual, or not unusual seeming as this was a world of magic, position. He was clinging for his dear life on the side of a floating hot air balloon a few feet high on the ground of the roofless garage. His scrawny body curled up, his clothes disheveled. I could feel his fear of falling, but what was most odd was that I found myself smiling at his situation, amused. I realized this and wiped off the smile on my face, hoping no one saw that. I looked at Leah who was also looking at me, our eyes met –  her emerald to my flaming red eyes. I couldn’t read her expression at all. Was she scared? She glanced up, pretending she didn’t see anything. My thoughts now filled with doubt, fear, and anxiety as I kept looking at Leah. Pursing my lips for the nth time, I gaz

Chapter Eight
As we got to where Tyson was taking us, I was met with the sound of short shouts, slashing and clanging of metal on metal with a few lots of Mavi’s training left and right in the field. Some were fist sparring on the right side of a field, some were target practicing with bows and arrows, some used their elements to shoot the ragdoll. On the other side of the field, there were sparring with wooden swords, beside them – a short fence divided them and few Mavi’s were sparring with real swords. This looked like in movies where there’s a camp for training people who have their own unique ability – either swords, bows and arrows or spears, but there were no spears of course, just their powers. A thought suddenly came to my mind as I stood there with everyone so busy with their training, as if I was in another plane – another dimension, another voice I was hearing but my voice at the same time. That's right, no one would look your way when you're gone. My b

Chapter Nine
Tik tok, tik tok, tik tok.The clock ticked continuously in the background. An eerie vibe could be felt through the air around me. It was thick – thick with poison. I could feel the anger fill up my chest, it was almost boiling, but sad almost – fragile like glass. It was unbearable, the quietness of the forest around me was deafening – there were no rustling leaves or birds chirping neither insects humming their songs. It was so oddly quiet that it made me crouch down to the ground, furrowing my brows deep, my hands clawing the dirt that I could feel some of it in my nails. I could feel my own heart beat in rhythm so loudly in the forest. And there was a ticking sound like a clock that I don't even know where it was coming from. The hurt I could fe

Chapter Ten
As I walked by beside Leah, I felt something was wrong. It was more of a gut feeling than a guess. I looked around me, the thick forest, the fog that surrounded beyond the road we walked upon, the graying sky, the gloomy song of the birds, and the footsteps that echoed muffly on the ground as we walked. It wasn't the things here that were wrong. Suddenly, I felt my bag on my back weigh heavily slowly as I walked another step. There was something in it that made me drag my feet. Leah noticed it and stopped the two brothers that were ahead. I shortly heaved a sigh.  "What's wrong?", she placed her hand on my shoulder lightly and grabbed the strap of the pack off my shoulders. Her eyes widened at the heaviness of it. She glances up at Tyson. "How many things did you put in her bag?!" Tyson looks confusedly at L

Chapter Eleven
There was a deep sadness in me that rest beneath the depths of my heart. The kind of ache that you could feel when someone punches you in the gut and it takes the breath out of you. But instead of having your breath taken out of you, you feel like your heart would stop beating any moment you exhale. There were things that I remember her saying to me when we fought. And maybe, she was right after all. The delusions I think, the things that I think too much – she was right. Catherine was right about all the hurtful things she told me. I thought, that those words she threw away didn't matter. That at least I was expecting something – thinking that I was prepared for anything if I expected something that would happen. But she was right about me, the delusions I make. I didn’t even think how it would have looked for others.

Chapter Twelve
We stood still in front of the basement door quietly. Tyson and Mike were behind us like scared puppies, clearly waiting for us to open the basement door. What was in it anyway that made them hysteric?“So what exactly are we looking at here?”, Leah asked, knife in hand.“Um…”, Mike started.“There’s something in the basement.”, Tyson continued.Leah rolled her eyes. “I know there’s something in the basement, but what?”“That’s…” Mike started again. But once again, Tyson continued. “Something shocking.”The woman with the knife groan

Chapter Thirteen
I sat up startled, gasping for air. The air felt dense, I felt something wet on where I was sitting, raising my hand up, palm facing towards me –  water? I looked around my surroundings and realized I was in another one of those dream-like phases. But this time, I was aware of it. I was aware that I was in the dream plane. Something was different though, this was not mine. It was too peaceful, too quiet and empty aside from the clouds above that moved at a slow pace. I turned my head to the side and saw a huge wide space reaching as far as my eyes could see – the clouds reflecting down on the waters like a mirror. There was nothing in here. It felt empty yet solace was hanging around the air like tiny orbs.I stood up from the wetness I was sitting on, only to my surprise, I was dry. “Huh, that&rsq

Chapter Fourteen
There was a moment of silence between Lyv and I as we stared into the clouds that moved at a slow pace. We were laying down on the mirrored-like waters a few feet away from the black obelisk. The waters flowed slowly behind our back – it was the only gentle noise that could be heard on the peaceful plane. There were mere seconds as we stared right up above the slow-moving clouds that I wished could be forever.I sighed loudly for Lyv to hear. I could see her look at me in the corner of my eyes. She propped her elbow and faced me, tilting her head slightly to me. “Are you okay?”I pursed my lips, shrugging half-heartedly, “Yeah. I just wished this could last.”She laid back down on the slow-moving waters making a tiny slosh sound, her hands entwined together on her stomach. “Well,

The Witch of Neverwhere.I sighed loudly. I seemed to have forgotten about what she said. How could I forget such things that are important? I wanted to bang my head against the counter for forgetting things. Why am I such a forgetful person?“You forgot, didn’t you?”, Lyv smiled gently, tilting her head to the side slightly.I embarrassingly looked down at my boots and nodded. I could feel my cheeks redden. “Yeah.”, I mumbled, biting my lip hard. The events that have happened must’ve taken my mind off of it completely that I forgot about that. I mean, who wouldn’t? Wanting to have peace instead of having a huge responsibility on my shoulders, or having this undeniable pain aching
