Chapter 11
We talked for a few hours, had a light breakfast, and, then, I sent Max home to shower and cool off after the heated remarks and jabs that he kept slipping to Evan.  I could understand his desire to keep me safe, but I felt that he’d taken it too far with my boarder; especially when I knew it was coming more from jealousy than concern.  Evan offered to go with me to pick up the supplies that I’d need to study the creature and I gladly accepted his company.  We checked on Megan to make sure that she was doing well before we securely locked the house and hopped into his van. He’d barely closed the door and started the engine before the stench of werewolf overwhelmed me.  Although his offer to drive me was considerate, I knew that I wouldn’t be able to tolerate being in such a stinky vehicle for the hour ride to and from the supply place. So, I strongly suggested that we use my car.  He flashed me one of his handsome

I lay, in all my naked glory, on the top of my desk while I watched him put himself back together and waited for the euphoric sensation of just having had unbelievable sex subside enough for me to want to move.He looked down at me and smiled before he bent over and suckled each nipple and then kissed my navel.“You have the perfect hourglass figure,” he cooed.  “Fantastic breasts, a tiny, flat stomach and smooth, rounded hips.  Not to mention that every time I enter you, you’re so tight that I feel like I’m taking you for the first time.  You’re every man’s dream of the perfect woman… and you’re mine.” I moaned and writhed with delight at the feel of his lips as they moved downward. “Why did you get dressed. I could stand a bit more.”“You do seem insatiable, my love,” he said as he slid his finger inside of me while teasing my sensitive nub with his

We walked at a quickened pace while Max kept his car parallel with us.  I have to agree with Megan.  It did make me feel a bit childish, but I could understand his need to do it since he didn’t want to drive on without us and I was refusing to get into the car. When we reached the driveway, he pulled past us and headed around to the morgue entrance.  I pulled my keys from the pocket in the waist of my yoga pants as we walked around to the back of the house and opened up the door to the morgue.  Max was quick to open the trunk of his car and heave the limp werewolf over his shoulder.  Even though it hung lifeless, I still put a cautious distance between us.  After all, the werewolf that Evan had brought to me had looked dead too.Max heaved the beast onto the examination table with much less grace than Evan had done with his werewolf.  I shook my head and silently chastised myself for comparing the two men.  One was a vampir

With Megan at my side, we cautiously checked each room on the second floor of the house.  It was only my second time going through it so thoroughly.  My first time being with Evan just hours earlier when he selected his rooms.Megan found it odd that I would rent a house and not do an in-depth exploration of all of its charms.  Perhaps, it was.   Besides the fact that the place gave me an eerie feeling – which I attributed to its size verses occupants- it was more time constraints than lack of interest that kept me from checking out the house, room by room.  There always seemed to be something pulling on my time and then, when there wasn’t, I was so tired that all I wanted to do was to find my bed and sleep in it.I found the house a pleasure to explore, even if it was to search for invaders. The architecture was interesting, and the house was in excellent condition; especially for a building that was an easy century old.

Chapter 15
I was at the bottom of the stairs when I remembered that Peter had sent me a message through my computer.  I raced back up to my bedroom and grabbed my laptop from the nightstand. The sound of Max singing in the shower made me smile.I headed to the kitchen and opened my laptop to look for Peter’s message while I waited for the coffee to brew.   To my surprise, there was nothing there.  I scowled.  I could have sworn that I saw a message from him before I went to sleep.  Was I seeing things now?  Was it just wishful thinking because he’d yet to reach out to me?  Did I even want him to, now that I knew what I did about him?I scolded myself as I closed the lid on my computer.  I needed to get over Peter once and for all before my mind went crazy and my life was ruined.I’d just finished frying a few eggs to make egg and bagel breakfast sandwiches with when Megan entered the kitchen.“Is M

Chapter 16
The selection at the local theater consisted of a spy thriller, a horror movie, and a children’s animation.  Since we’d had enough thrills and horror to last us a very, very long time, and neither of us were into animation, we headed to the nearest new age store for the supplies necessary to sage and clear the house of spirits. Megan’s first thought was to fetch what we needed from her house, since she possessed a complete stock of such things, but my gut warned me to stay in a populated area.  It may have just been from being wary after all that we’d been through, but Megan thought it was more.  She suggested that we begin working on fine tuning my psychic skills as well as teach me some simple magic.  It sounded fun and interesting, so I readily agreed. Our biggest obstacle would be time.  I had my growing practice to run and I was just beginning my research on werewolves.  So, when we returned to the

The sound of Evan’s van pulling into the driveway distracted us from our conversation.Megan placed her hand on my forearm to get my attention as we watched through the kitchen window as he parked his van and hopped out. “A word of warning.  Max isn’t the only one who will feel the effects of the potion.  Any man with love for you will have their emotions enhanced; as you will for him if you harbor any feelings of love for him.  Even the smallest amount will be strengthened and brought forth.  It’ll be especially potent from drinking the tea.  Once you start bathing in it, the energies will align and be less erratic.  You say that you don’t have feelings for him in that way, but I’m telling you that Evan has feelings for you that go beyond sexual, so be careful not to touch him any more than necessary until you’ve completed all of your baths or we’ll have a problem on our hands.”

Whether Megan realized it or not.  The potion had done more than allow me to get in touch with my true feelings about Max.  It helped to heal the hole in my heart that Peter had created.  For the first time since I’d listened to that cab take him away, I felt happy, whole, and ready to live life to its fullest.  It came to me that I could love more than one man and it was okay.  I didn’t need to hold back from Max because I had love for Peter and probably always would, no matter what he’d done to me.  The love I felt for Max was a good love.  A peaceful love.  A secure love.   It was a love that I knew would last the test of time.As I stood with my face and hands planted against the cool wall as the shower water fell on my back and Max pumped his seed deep into my womanhood, I moaned, “Marry me, Max.”He was so shocked by my words that he stopped in mid thrust; frozen.“Don&rs

Chapter 19
We went to three upscale jewelry stores before we found a ring that we both agreed on.  Either Max took Megan’s teasing to heart or he was just a very generous man because the ring he insisted upon getting me was a lot bigger than the modest one I’d chosen and ridiculously expensive.  He claimed that diamonds never lost their value, so it was not just a symbol of our love and commitment, it was an investment.  I didn’t know how I felt about carrying the responsibility of such an investment on my finger day in and day out, but there was no changing his mind.My romantic man paid for the ring and then got down on one knee before everyone in the store and formally proposed to me.  It was touchingly romantic. It was early afternoon, so we decided to take a stroll down through the shopping district and window shop. Max wanted to go wild and purchase things for our new life together, but I wasn’t ready to look at china

Chapter 20
The following morning, I crawled from my bed with the worst headache that I could remember having.  My first thought was that I should have had white wine because it contained fewer tannins.  Not only did my head ache, but every muscle in my body felt like it had been abused.   I found a note from Max on the nightstand saying that he’d been called in to work at pre-dawn and that he would check on me at lunch time.Alone and feeling like crap, I staggered to the bathroom and looked at the tub. Had I taken that bath the night before?  I just couldn’t remember.  I felt like I needed to cleanse myself - especially my female area – but I didn’t dare wash off the potion.  I settled for washing my important parts at the sink.I found some over the counter headache tablets in my medicine cabinet and popped two into my mouth.  At the absence of a glass, I leaned over and drank directly from the faucet while I washe
