AVA I woke up this morning with a malicious headache.  You know the type that makes you feel as though you've been hit on the head and when you try to move your head, the pain is transferred to the other side of your head, making you shut your eyes and hold your head. Slowly, I searched for the aspirin in the first aid kit that I keep in one of the cupboards in the kitchen. After I had taken the medicine, I began making breakfast. AVA It was Sunday morning. I and Melissa were alone at home and I think we are the only two in neighbourhood that weren't in church. Standing up from the bed, I moved to the bathroom. AVA   Breathing a sigh, I spoke "There's something you really need to know."   "It better be good." AVA   I was about to say a few prayers because it could be the last time I ever opened my eyes, when I felt how calm the car had suddenly become.   On instinct, I opened one of my eyes to observe my environment. The first thing that caught my attention was how close we were to the tree but still didn't collide with it.    Gradually inhaling and exhaling, I tried to control my breath. I turned slowly to face Helena whose head was resting on the wheel with one of her hands above her head on the wheel.    "Helena, I whispered, she turned her face to look at me, and gave me a sad smile before sitting up in her seat and resting her back on it.    The wheel was wet and I immediately looked at her face to see that tears were streaming down freely from her eyes.   That was when I noticed she had already unfastened her seat belt.
