Clarriese Zyah's POV   “Name?” “Clarriese Zyah Tehran.” “Age?” “18.” “Department?” “Journalism Department.” “If you were chosen to be one of the new members of the team today—” Dwight and I both stopped when we heard the bell rang. She was asking me questions like I am in actual interview or the search of new staffers. It’s already 7:30 in the morning and we need to attend our first-period class. There are still lot of students outside. Some are walking fast because they are getting late for their class. Yet most of the students who are in other department were riding in bicycle. This way, they'll arrive sooner at their building. The campus was quiet vas

Dale Daniel’s POV It’s already three o’clock in the morning, but I am still here, wide awake. Every time I closed my eyes, it’s her face that I saw, her smile. Her voice just echoed to my ears, breaking the deafening silence of the night. I rubbed both my hands in my face to let out the frustration growing inside my chest. It’s been so many days already but still, every night when I closed my eyes, I could picture her image in my head, her smiles even more vivid the more I thought to cast the thought away. I wonder what is happening to me. Are there damaged nerves or tissues inside my brain?  “You’ve never been alone, Dale.” When I hear that word, it creeps into my heart. I’ve had goosebumps. It’s been a while since I heard such words.  “Papa!” I cried. I accidentally lost the toy that my dad gave me. Since it’s the first toy that he gav

Clarriese Zyah's POV"I have something to tell you.""What is it?" I asked, excited to hear what he was going to say.Silence dominates the ambiance since it's just the two of us here. The other staffers are having their snacks at the cafeteria."Actually," he started hesitantly, his hand landed on the bridge of his nose. "Yes?""I—"He couldn't finish his word when someone came in at the office."Did I disturb you two?" Aron Ryle asked as he entered the room."No. You did not, kuya," I responded."You've been here for so long in Riona, Zy. You're still calling me "kuya." He flashed a quick smile. "You can call me the way you call Dale." "My apologies. I've got used to it." I chuckled a bit."What are you

Dale Daniel's POV Day after our Christmas, I got up early in the morning because Manang Lydia woke me up, informing me that my grandmother was calling. "Sir Dale!" I heard her from outside. I forced myself to open my sleepy eyes. "Madam is calling!" she added.  I felt the heaviness in my body, tiredness is still present in me. I got up lazily and opened the door of my room. "Thanks, Manang Lydia," I said after she passed me the keypad phone. Manang Lydia and my grandmother were pretty close. Back when I was a child it was both of them who looked after me after my father passed away. My father. . . Papa.

Dale Daniel's POV I never expected in my life that I could encounter something like this, that today would ever come. We walked over 2 kilometers, traversing the muddy way to our destination. Sweat beaded on our foreheads as we raised our feet for another step, ensuring that we wouldn't stumble. It’s a good thing that Zyah’s grandfather fetched us. When we reached Zyah’s grandmother’s house, a perfectly new atmosphere welcomed us. The two-story house was made up of woods, surrounded by its garden. Various colors and sorts of flowers and plants gave positive vibes in the area.  The ambiance made me feel that I was thrown back many years ago. The mood, it gives me chills.  Our feet were coated with dirt. We went straight to the Artesian well a
