Chapter 20: Day 2
It was barely sunrise but Simon had gotten out of bed. Something was nudging him at his heart. As he stood watch over the ocean he felt a familiarity for this place. He heard a voice tell him that this water has seen it all. That this water knew his story. He bent down to dip his hand into the water. As he touched it, something mysterious happened, the water began glowing blue.  "What in the world?" Simon said, removing his hands instantly. The glowing stopped. He placed his hands again and the bluish glow returned.  He repeated the process of dipping and taking his hand out of the water and the glowing started and stopped respectively. A man on his early morning jog stopped to watch Simon.  "Hey mister what are you doing?" the man yelled at Simon as he approached.  "It's the water that's glowing each time I put my hands into it and stops when I take my hands out," said Simon dipp

Chapter 21: Day 2
Arthur Griffin was standing at the front of the porch when his nephew Kane had come to open up the door for him. Kane received his uncle with a hug. It was just a few moments after the first light of the day and it should have been a little too early for a visitor or a hug.  "Uncle Arthur! What a pleasant surprise," Kane said, stepping aside to let the man slide into the house. It was indeed a pleasant surprise.  Arthur was a cool man who liked minding his own business. He was not in attendance for Shane's burial but Kane recalled him calling and expressing his profound apology for missing it. He was an oceanographer and at the time of Shane's burial he had been on duty with his team somewhere in the Atlantic region.  "No more pleasant than it is to see you, my boy! Mehn you've become really buff. Life's treating you good now, eh?" Arthur said, giving a lopsided grin.  "Life's bar

Chapter 22: Day 2
Simon was slouched on the couch operating his mobile phone when it rang. It was Simone’s number that was identified as the caller’s ID. He wondered if their plan had gone wrong, but when he answered the call, he learned that the plan had eventually turned out to become something else entirely. He had been invited for breakfast at the Griffin’s beach house. When he stepped out into the sunlight, he felt like he had been born into this world as a vampire. The sun was scorching hot. He looked toward the direction of the ocean and it was bare. The water was still reddish in color.  When he arrived at the main beach house he realized this was his furthest he had been from his own lodge and on this beach. Something in his emotions made him feel like though he was the furthest away from his lodge that he was walking towards a familiar territory. He suddenly remembered Peter Brooklyn the astrologer and mystic. He told himself that he was going to

Chapter 23: Night 2 (Stephanie's Gone)
Kane's emotions were on high for the rest of the day. The Solomon twins had left to their own lodge and the only ones left with Kane and Stephanie joined were Anna and Jim. Kane reflected on the discussion that ensued during the morning breakfast. He approached Stephanie with the firm determination to get an answer. He was going to give her an ultimatum of the next forty eight hours to make up her mind as to whether she loves him or not. "Hey Steph there's something important that I'd like to discuss with you," Kane said.  Stephanie turned her head towards the direction of the door. She saw Kane hanging there on the hinges. His shirt was either buttoned halfway or unbuttoned halfway. She had been sitting on the rocking chair for almost an hour precisely. All she had been doing was letting herself get lost in the view. Although at the initial moment when she had come out around four PM she wanted to think about that… She also knew

Chapter 24: Night
Simon slipped away when everyone was basking in the euphoria of the bluish glow of ocean. Couples were snapping and posting pictures. Who knew that there could be a picnic on the beach late in the evening? Humans were as always despicable. People were selfish, Simon thought, the whole timing for a celebratory evening was wrong.  Simon had a gut feeling about today. He came out that morning so he could understand what it was he was feeling. He felt like the reincarnated part of himself was taking over his entire affair. Stephanie, Kane, the ocean, beach, and California all seemed interrelated to the soul that had taken over. He became slightly distracted about the feeling when it was replaced with this event of red tide.  Seeing Stephanie as she left reignited his former feeling. So as he crossed the front porch to the house of Kane he knew he had come to meet with not just his rival but his brother. Kane opened the door and Simon c

Chapter 25: Day 3
Simon wasn't sure if going to New York was the right decision to make. Stephanie literally had just shut everyone out. Her number wasn't reachable. He asked himself to think about it but he also knew he wasn't going to really give it much thoughts. However, he thought of a way to get through to someone who Stephanie might have reached out to. He decided to call Peter Brooklyn who hopefully should still be on vacation with Tiffany. He paced around the bedroom as he waited for the line to ring. In a few steps later he heard the thrilling sound. He pumped his fist in the air when the line connected successfully. "Hello Peter," Simon said, cheerfully. "You must've thought I've forgotten about you, I didn't. Are you alone?" Peter was in the Hawaiian islands with Tiffany but she had been putting on an earpiece grossly engaged in seeing a movie. "Simon my man, don't tell me… You're calling to tell me about your recent findings. You've figure

Chapter 26: Day 3 (New York Secret)
Simon was in New York and he was not not entirely clueless as to where he would start his search for Stephanie. Though he didn't know Stephanie's house he had a good idea about where to begin his search from. He went to the B and B restaurant and he talked to one of the waiters there and the guy directed him to the new art studio building on Pearls Street.  Simon drove down to the place without needing any description. He had seen the construction site a couple of times, however, he never really knew it belonged to Stephanie. The building had been completed, and it stood faultless. A perfect art studio. It even had Stephanie's name on it. He read what was written on top of the building: Stephanie's Art Studio (SAS).  He met a girl at the entrance to the studio, she wore a camera around her neck. Since the studio had just one in and out, the girl was exiting and he was about entering

Chapter 27: Night 3 (A Friend within me)
Lazlo hotel. Simon was still in his room but he was trying to remember where it was, what it looked like, or perhaps how many times he had visited it. Was it his favorite hotel? Annie once again resurfaced in his memory. He remembered her nickname to be Annieberry. She had earned his memory tonight and he couldn't explain how he had forgotten about one of the most crucial aspects of his life. Was it amnesia? If it was, then it was only partial because he seemed to remember every other events and people. Simon went on the internet on his phone and searched for the specific keywords Lazlo hotel but the search engine suggested a list of completion. Lazlo hotel and...bar. Lazlo hotel...casino. Simon tapped on the first suggestion, Lazlo hotel and bar. A new page opened. In it was the location of the hotel, pictures of the hotel, and pricing list of the rooms. It was about fifteen minutes to eight.  After viewing the pic

Chapter 28: Night (We sync well)
Simon Solomon took in a deep breath bracing himself as the hotel doors swung open. It was supposed to feel scary. The way he was talking to himself but he felt himself chuckle. He was becoming more aware of himself and the more he accepted the fact that he was no longer the same person he was before his accident, the more he wielded himself like a secret weapon. He ate meat, spoke Arabic, used both hands ambidextrously and now could even hear the inner voice of his new soul.  The interior of the hotel was elegantly designed. It was lit up with bright chandelier lights that hung skywards. Neon green, yellow, and red lights flickered on one sign post that read El Casino. Gold, gold and more gold, the place seemed to have been made up of gold. Slow low tune instrumental music filtered through the air. Hell was pretty, Simon thought.  As his eyes scaned the hotel's casino section around for Annie, he noticed something. He recalled that

Chapter 29: Day 4 (The choice)
Stephanie was on the verge of exploding in anger but she mustered up some self-control. She clutched the paintbrush in her hands tightly. She slashed lines upon lines and curves wherever necessary but the therapy wasn't working for her. Painting used to be her go to activity whenever she found herself distressed by anything. It was the final day in Kane's useless ultimatum. She told herself she frankly didn't care but after turning on her mobile number on the previous night, she felt a wave of loneliness overshadow her.  "Steph I'm sorry okay," Kane had said in his fifth voicemail to her. "Sorry I made you annoyed. Come back to me. I would've come over but my uncle Arthur is practically begging me to stay until the weekend. Okay even if you can't come just give me a call back. I'll come over to you by the weekend and we can talk things over. I got fed up, that's all. I'm tired of waiting
