Chapter 31
In the gloomy, spacious room among strange artefacts, stone furniture and unusual architecture of embossed wall prints and luminous blue light lamps, the thing that stand out the most to Lindsey is the unusual sword monument situated at the far end of the room. To a massive block of stone, a sword is thrust. From the looks of it, the heavy blue bladed sword wrapped in cobwebs had spent many centuries plunged in there, waiting for its Arthur or so as Lindsey imagined. It had curious carving on the blade, the profile of a lightning, Lindsey deduced.Lindsey settled on her knee before it and studied the inscription written on the stone but to no avail as the language was scripted in alien characters. Although it had a little bit of similarity to the Atlantean language but the correlation would not make sense, she decided for now.She sighed and looked around for other things of interest in the chamber. Somehow, the feel of the room reminded her of the temple room in the A

Chapter 32
Four sleek WDF spacefighters landed on the spacious grounds of the Kinski farmland against the light of dawn breaking in the horizon. Four pilots emerged from each of the cockpits and reported to Lieutenant Phil Wilson on the field with a salute."They are all 2-seaters, sir," informed one of the young private."Good. We will be leaving immediately," said Phil. Turning to Alec, he asked, "Is she not done yet?"  *******  "Hey, Miss Kinski, the fetchers are here. Aren't you done getting ready yet? I can hear the lieutenant roaring in my head, just so you know," Sanders called out from outside of Ava's bedroom door. Still no response."Uh.... just so you know, we are not going to a fancy party,"Silence. He shrugged and squatted onto the floor. 'I didn't think women like her can still have feminine quirks,' he muttered to himself."Master Ava is not in there," S25 said as she was pass

Chapter 33
Somewhere round the coordinates of Earth space are the vanguards of WDF spacefighters ships strategically positioned everywhere, Lt Phil Wilson and his men knew all too well. But the view from the exteriors of their cockpits had been nothing but the seemingly peaceful blanket of stars for the past couple of hours.Ava had successfully eluded them all - the three men realised. They had flown in silence for most of the 3 hours in space, their ships flying at their max hyperspeed of 30 kiometers per second, waiting for a command from HQ for their unprecedented situation, knowing that the enemy fleet is just a couple of hours trajectory from where they are, probably aware, in one way or another, of the rogue Earth unit that seemed to be headed their way. But there have been no movement from the adversaries as far as their radars are concerned...so far. They are probably just waiting with their guns for these trivial pursuers to appear within sight and annihilate, Alec thought. What a sens

Chapter 34
The three pilots slammed their speeding ships to an abrupt halt as they took in the uncanny scene all around them, their vessels shifting to its humanoid form as they did, but watched as Ava's ship sped its way to the fortress. Then they looked up as the swarm of ships above them began to break up and dislodge in a downward motion as the Zhinras advanced swiftly to intercept them from below. The three men quickly realised they are witnesses to an unprecedented war erupting.Firepower flared from each of the clashing side. To the young men, never has the silence of space been so deafening in a scene so violent and aggressive. They have fought the Zhinras before -- but not like this. In the initial few seconds of the clash, a number of ships, possibly a hundred, had already gone into flames or decapitated - most of which are numbers from the new arrivals. The Zhinras, as the men could see, were strangely on the defensive side and are heavily outnumbered - a role Earth forces had always

Chapter 35
The mother fortress looked like a massive, basalt rock in space - a clear-cut, uncomplicated structure, so marvelled Alec, Phil and Sanders. Like a nicely carved out piece of an asteroid that broke off. They watched as the ship opened up to receive them, a huge mouth into what appears to be the hangar, beckoning them inside. Ava's ship had gone in first and the boys followed suit in their spacefighters, into this dark space tunnel. As the hangar gates begin to slid back to a close, effectively separating them from the vacuum of space as well as their pursuers which the Zhinra fighters had engaged on their behalf, the sound of machinery grinding and whirring invaded their senses, even in the comfort of their cockpits. They all switched into their battlesuit mode and floated on, sans thrusters, towards the light at the end of the tunnel."Guys, I know this is pretty much an inappropriate feeling right now, but I am pretty much amazed to be inside an enemy ship rig

Chapter 36
"Alec, No -" called Phil in a vain attempt to stop Alec. But Alec had already made his maneuver. He ducked and turned, avoiding the brunt of the spear that was pointed at his back, and kicked the soldier who was directly behind him above the knees sending it staggering a few steps back.Sanders, grinning, joined in the fighting stance. "C'mon, lieutenant! Three against two, it's gonna be a cinch. And we've fought hand to hand with these guys before, they suck.""You don't have to join in, Lieutenant, Sanders, but I am going to save Lindsey," Alec told them."Alec, you are a pain. Fine, let's get on with it," said Phil as he curled his hands into a fist. And the three men readied themselves as the two soldiers came at them...*********"They're trying to escape! They heard you, Lindseymiles!" Garullo was telling the girl what he is seeing in his mind's eye currently."They are? I'm gonna get rescued!" She cried gleefully. She could hear muffled thumps, groans, and yells from outside. I

Chapter 37
The ship is a complex maze of rundown passageways. Lightings that lined the halls provide sparse and choppy illumination. The air is musty and the dark, stonewalls and floors dry. The walls seemed to be made of concrete instead of metals and stuff. If they didn't know any better, they would think that they're running around inside a very huge dark, dismal gothic castle somewhere in Scotland that seemed all deserted.Garullo was ahead of them with sure steps, his antennas moving and shifting about. Lindsey had to surmise that his navigating ability is rendered by those antennas---a biological sensor, or something more complex than that. Maybe they really are a race born to explore and navigate this universe more than any one else can, she thought.Luckily for the past half an hour they haven't run across any Zhinra. It seems that their escape hasn't been discovered yet as an alert is not evident. They locked the three Zhinras back in the chamber to make sure they won't

It was already evident in the air that the entire gargantuan ship had now been alerted of their escape attempt."They're everywhere now, in every path," Garullo announced. "It's becoming increasingly difficult to find a way around,""If that's the case, then we have no choice but to try and get past them," lead Phil."Yeah, the sword will do the job!' said Sanders.Phil grunted. "We should not underestimate them,""Well, there is no other way," said Alec."We can always engage in hand to hand combat if we need to," said Phil. They reached a narrow iron bridge that cross a wide canal of running water reservoir underneath it, to their sheer amazement, through to a staircase in the end.As soon as they made to halfway through the bridge, a lanky, walking machine of some kind with weapons for arms emerged from behind them and began chase fast. Alec knew he will have to stand in its way if the others are to make it to the other side."I'll hold it off! Go, hurry!" Alec shouted.Alec turn t

Chapter 39
Ava found herself being escorted towards a close huge metal door. The guards then pushed it open, slightly illumining the dark room inside."You may enter," ordered one of the guards. She stepped inside without hesitation. The door closed behind her, engulfing her in darkness. She felt compelled to walk a little further and stopped when she felt she had to.Suddenly the lights came on---dim lights from a few hanging chandeliers above the ceiling. She found herself in a spacious hall. There was a large, round platform in front of her. Soon the lights went out, plunging her into searing darkness again. But there was something soothing to it all --- to this darkness. The detached feeling from the world, from reality, brought about a feeling of solitude to her. Hiding in the shadows had always been her solitude.Strange sounds came to her, the sound of moving walls. Then the room lit up once again, not from the chandeliers but from bright blue lights that flared from the center of the rou

Chapter 40
Alec had followed her to this hall after taking out the two guards at the entry. He made some noise, waited at the corner, as one of the sentry came about to investigate the ruckus. He quietly pounced on the unsuspecting guard to unconsciousness and as the remaining sentry came looking for his comrade, Alec repeated the tactic. He then snucked into the hall and chanced upon this alien conversation in the hall where Ava stood. Obviously he missed a lot and could not understand a single word. Without much thought, he barged in and grabbed Ava's wrist by force, determined not to let her have her way this time. "Sorry, folks, she can't stay to chat," It was a dumb and futile attempt at rescue that he will mule about later. Ava Kinski had made it very clear to him not to meddle with her affairs, and yet here he is. He knew for certain that Ava is no helpless damsel. Yeah, she is not one anyone has to worry about. And yet he feels that she needs all
