"Well hello Ami, I see you still haven't learned to look where you are going". Connor said looking down at her with a smirk and a raised eyebrow.  Seeing her again brought him immense joy. Even his docile Wolf peaked up for a moment, whimpering the word ‘mate’ over and over. She looked up at him, her eyes meeting his, those eyes that were nearly impossible to escape and which changed colour depending on the light and his mood. Right now they were a chocolatey brown with green flecks. She sighed, of course it was him, typical of her luck. She hadn't entertained the possibility or maybe she had just pushed it far away.

 "Well you two looked kind of cosy". Jasper looked at her when she walked back out on the balcony. She sat down and picked up her glass of wine. "We had an okay evening and I hate to admit it, but you might have been right. We needed to talk about some things". "Well I am happy to hear that, maybe it will make working together a lot easier".  "What do you think about LA so far ?" Connor glanced at her, weaving through traffic on the highway. Ami looked out the window. "I haven't seen much yet, but so far I love it here". "Just ask if you need a guide… I have lived here like forever, so I know most places. The known and unknown". He sent her a sweet smile.  “Only forever ? I actually thought you were born here”. She asked curiously.  He shakes his head slightly. “Born in Texas, my … family is still out there. But I know my way around LA”. 

"Hey sweetest girl, what is wrong ?" Jasper had just found her rolled up on the couch crying her eyes out and he looked very worried. A small sob escaped her and she handed him the tabloid before cradling herself again. She didn’t want to talk about it, but she knew she couldn't pretend it was nothing. Jasper read the short article and looked at the pictures, then he looked at her with compassion. "Oh sweetie I am so sorry. But before we cry those pretty eyes out, are we sure there really is something there ?" "It says so and you can see the pictures". She sobbed again. She just felt really stupid

"Connor are you out back ?" A woman's voice sounded behind them and Connor’s lips left hers for the first time in 10 minutes. He turned to watch the woman walking towards them. "Hi sis, well you are looking at me aren't you ?" "Now don't be such a brat kiddo, be a gentleman and introduce us. And you must be Ami, please be Ami". His sister looked at her. Ami couldn't help smiling, his sister looked a lot like a female version of him. They had the same hair colour, same eyes and same smile and she kind of sounded like him too. "Hi, and yes I am Ami".
