Chapter Thirty One
The silver moon festival was tomorrow and the day of my departure was the day after. I know it seems like we're rushing, but we need to move fast. Phoenix had called for a meeting at the pack house dinning area. My eyes shifted around the table as everyone took their seats. By everyone I mean, Tobias, Landon, Trevor and Felix. The last two looked like they wanted to be anywhere but here. I wouldn't wonder why, since Phoenix won't stop glaring at them, Trevor especially. Remember that I told Phoenix about him and Giselle being mates. I'd managed to stop him from ripping the poor guy apart, but that wouldn't stop him from wishing he could. I chuckled and placed my hand over his clenched fist, " stop it" I whispered to him. Phoenix scoffed and entwined our fingers, " Can't I just strangle them a little?" He asked loud enough for the two men to back away in fear. I rolled my eyes and turned

Chapter Thirty Two
********************************** We've been walking for like thirty minutes and Phoenix hasn't said a word to me. I could feel his uneasiness and I could tell that he wasn't in the mood to talk, so I respected his silent decision and followed quietly. I wonder where mate is taking us... Me too... His wolf doesn't want to tell me... I think we should let him be... I told her and glanced at his hand, buried deep in the pocket of his coat, playing with his cigarette lighter. It's a miracle that he hasn't been burned yet. Finally, we got to a small clearing with a cabin standing in the middle beside a tall oak tree. Although the cabin looked old and was covered in vines, it still had the power to falter my steps and stare in awe.  It looked like something out of a fairytal

Chapter Thirty Three
It was finally the day of the festival. Every single person in the pack was even busier than yesterday. I was standing by the long banquet table, staring in awe at the beautifully decorated clearing. Just yesterday it looked like the work would never end, but now it's...glorious.   " Um...e-excuse me Luna, can you please move a bit?" A small strained voice asked. I made way for the small teen boy, " Sorry" I smiled and helped him put the tray on the table. He blushed a little and bowed, ready to walk away. But I stopped him, " Simon, is it?" I asked the boy. He flinched and nodded.    I used to see him stumbling around the pack house kitchen, the boy was quite clumsy and small for his age. " C-can I help you with s-something, Luna?" He asked with his head down. I want to pinch his face.   "Can I pinch your face?" I asked without missing a beat. To say he look

Chapter Thirty Four
" You're going to throw up if you keep eating so much" Tobias told Doe who just ignored him and put the remaining piece of chicken in her mouth, " And as I've told you...I'm eating for two" she said. Tobias huffed and continued to glare at her. I chuckled at their cute banter. The festival had been great so far, but I couldn't wait for the main rituals to begin. The main rituals were three in total. First we have The Mate Dance, this is for mated pairs only. It's a strange dance that shows or gives praise to the goddess for our mates...or something like that. Then there's The Marking. Not like biting or stuff like that. This one is for the entire pack. Special paint made by witches, from moon dust, sun dust, first snow water, dew drops and white roses. Weird, right? Anyway, this one is mostly like drawing tattoos, but with the feather from a white owl.

Chapter Thirty Five
Third person   The time for the rituals had come and Clover felt every fibre of her being tingle with excitement. It wasn't her fault. Although back in her former pack they did celebrate the moon festival, they didn't really enjoy it because they were constantly on the run from that beast.   As she looked around at all the mated pairs that stood in the clearing, who were ready to perform the mate dance, which was the first of three rituals, all her previous excitement washed away and butterflies fluttered about in her stomach.   She faced her mate, who was listening intently to what the elder on the stage was saying.    Phoenix felt her distress before she could even speak up. He looked at her and asked in a worried tone, " What is the problem?", She chewed on the inside of her cheek before standing on her toe and whispering in his ear, "

Chapter Thirty Six
Clover The pack was finally quiet after everyone had retired to their homes. The pack members cleaning up were also sent to their homes, cause Phoenix knew that everyone was tired. Such a thoughtful Alpha. I pulled my shirt down my body and rushed back to the room were Phoenix laid sprawled on the bed. " Look out below!" I yelled as I leapt and landed on him. " The hell?--Clover!" He wheezed out painfully since I took him by surprise. He easily threw me off his body and glared down at me as I rolled over on the floor in laughter. Tears spilled from my eyes as I laughed, " oh my goddess! What were you thinking about that you didn't even sense me running to you? Pfft...and you're supposed to be the most instinctive? Ha ha!" I laughed and got up from the floor. Phoenix sighed and smiled up at me, then he grabbed my arm and pulled me down to his laps. I chuckled and put my arms around his n

Chapter Thirty Seven
Hours later... We've been walking for hours. The sky was so dark we had to use our wolf vision to tread through the thick forest. I was extremely tired and had to lean on Millicent as my support, who didn't seem at all.  It's not fair...we used to walk for days without rest..so what's happening now???... Maybe it's cause we haven't done it in a while... You're right...it's all Phoenix's fault... My chest tightened at the mere thought of my mate. We'd lost contact hours ago, but it was like I could still here him whispering how much he missed me through our mind links. I sighed mentally and looked towards the other eight wolves in front of me. Trevor and Felix were walking further than the rest of us. I smiled a bit at their great zeal to push forward. I was tired but I didn't want to let them down.

Chapter Thirty Eight
Clover I opened my eyes and realized I was falling...falling from only goddess knows cause I was surrounded by thick darkness...and that scared me... " Clover..." Someone was calling my name. A smooth, sweet voice...It echoed into the darkness. "Clover..." I wanted to answer, but I couldn't speak. It felt like my body was paralyzed. Suddenly from the darkness above me, a large hand reached down to grab me, I tried to scream but no sound came out. I squeezed my eyes shut as the hand engulfed me and pulled me upwards. In a second I could no longer feel the warmth around my torso and light reflected through my eyelids, I opened my eyes and found my self in a field of beautiful tiger lilies and my mother crouching in front of me. I blinked rapidly, her red hair fell down to the floor and her clothes were immaculate white. "Mo--" I tried to speak but my voice only faded. Then she smiled and cupped my face in her hands, her lips parted and she spoke some words, but I couldn't hear what

Chapter Thirty Nine
CLOVERThe short cut was very narrow and eerily quiet. My skin crawled and the hairs on my neck stood at attention. Since I was the strongest here, me being a Luna, my senses were higher. As we went deeper, I could feel something watching from the trees, “ Hey...we’re being watched. Don’t panic or else they’ll attack. These rogues have lost their senses so they rely on sounds and body language. They’re extremely irrational and unpredictable so try to stay calm and don’t look them in the eyes” I said quietly and they nodded in response.Another pair of eyes followed our movements and I could hear the pants and wild heartbeat of the rogues. Well, as long as we stick to my advice nothing will go wrong—“ What. The. Fuck?” Millicent whisper yelled. My eyes followed to what they were all looking at.The sight before us was stomach wrenching and very disturbing. Two rogues feasting on another rogue. Cannibalism. “ What should we do now?” Millicent asked.Nobody had the guts to move as the si

DANNY As I walked past rows and rows of tents, the smell of my mate drew closer and closer until I stopped in front of the one I had ordered to put them in. Back at the border, I had smelt the most amazing scent but I couldn’t even take a look at her because I was focused on capturing Clover. And I was only able to see her back when they put her and the others in the tent. I’d never thought of my mate before, neither have I ever imagined finding her. So her sudden appearance is quite shocking and uncalled for.Standing in front of the tent alone made my palms sweaty and my heart beat faster. ‘If I was this nervous when I haven’t seen her face, what would happen when I do?’ is what I thought as I reached out to open the tent...just a little more and I’ll see her face....”My Lord?” My hand froze mid-air, ‘so close’ I thought and sighed. I faced elder Simon, “...Yes?” I answered the older man. His eyes looked between me and the tent before he said, “ Some of the warriors we sent to th
