Chapter 20 My pleasure, Sarah
Frank released the last four bullets that forced the two remaining terrorists that had attacked the border dead. It was revealed that the terrorists were getting support from other countries and had planned to bring them into the country today for an attack.   Frank went with some troops to the border, waged war on them and were able to stop them just in time. Pleased with the success of the troops in defending the territory, he was all smiles as he shook hands with Kelvin who was standing next to him. Frank turned around to celebrate with the rest of the men as they hugged one another. Just then, he caught sight of a lady standing on a small hill and thrusting a gun into her waist.           "Sarah," he murmured as he walked up to her to confirm what he was seeing.      &nb

Chapter 21 You aren't my choice of man
"How exactly busy are we today, Richard?" Sarah said through the teeth as she trod behind Richard.         "Just as busy as this," Richard replied without looking back as he continued walking with long strides. This brought Sarah to a halt.         "I'm not just a toy that you can control at your wish. If you aren't telling me where we're headed to, you can as well go without me," Sarah said defiantly. Richard studied her for a moment before deciding that it was better to fight a battle with a drunk man than with thousands of women as they only think with their mouths and not their brains. He handed Sarah a paper that contained t

Chapter 22 You mean a lot to me
"I didn't know that you were in love, detective," Rev. Daniel said to Sarah.  It happened that Sarah and Rev. Daniel knew each other and were very close friends. The relationship started after Sarah fearlessly and successfully investigated the murder of his cousin, bringing to book all the people that had their hands in the crime.       "The spice of love lies in its secrecy, father," Sarah carefully responded. " How have you been faring, father?" She asked, trying to change the topic. She couldn't bring herself to lie to him anymore.         "Thank God we're still alive," Rev. Daniel replied. "You're sure you have known each other well enough to form a union?" He asked, lo

Chapter 23 It was truly Richard!
"Will you be alright, Sarah?"         "You've nothing to worry about, Frank," Sarah replied.         "Then we head to the north," Frank led the troop up the hill to lay siege to the desert as squad 2 headed to the Southern side of the desert.         "Watch out!" Frank yelled out when he realized that they were under attack. Continuous shooting erupted and filled the air as the troop retaliated and shot back at them.  Frank hurled a grenade to the far end of the desert where the shooting had erupted from and many of th

Chapter 24 This is how much I care about you
"What the heck were you doing there, you idiot! Why the dickens were you there?" Richard yelled as he furiously jammed the door. Sarah watched those angry eyes stare deep into hers, heat shimmering on his forehead. She was too weak now, so she sat on the bed and looked up at Richard.         "The same reason as yours, fighting," Sarah replied.         "You would have been killed, you scrag! I have always known that you're stupid but never seen the extent," Richard said through the teeth, his eyes blood-red.         "You don't expect me to cower in here while Frank and others are out there in great danger..."

Chapter 25 Not everyone is a priest
"Hello," Sarah said to Frank as she took a seat, stretching her legs under the wooden table. Frank seemed to have waited for too long in the small coffee shop. His coffee was almost cold.         "Did you sleep at all last night? You look like someone that hasn't slept for a decade, Sarah" Frank observed as he stared at Sarah's face for a while.         "You're right, Frank. Can I get a cup of coffee and cake please?" Sarah requested as she rubbed her hands together to stay warm. The whether was a bit too cold this morning. She was wearing a blue jean trousers and a lemon yellow furry overcoat with a blue wool knit cap that went together with the blue muffler around her neck.  Frank placed an order for

Chapter 26 I love you, Sarah
"Well, I'll not ask you about where you slept last night since I saw you sleeping in the reception room but I don't think such action will be repeated if you still want to see the four corners of this room again," he uttered nonchalantly as he dropped his gold bangle on a table by the corner of the room.         "And I'll not ask you for my freedom either since I believe you know my boundaries already," Sarah said angrily.         "Yes, I know your boundaries and that's what I'm trying to keep. I'll be stupid not to know that," Richard said calmly.          "Then you should know that my whereabout

Chapter 27 Too mean to say to one's husband
The restaurant in Bridget's guest house was filled with people. Men and women chattered away their sorrows and losses over some bottles of drinks.         "It seems like the country is taking a strategic move that will bring the war to an end. Reinforcement has been made and the army reserve will be joining the troops immediately," a husky voice that belonged to a man in a blue oversized t-shirt that couldn't hide his potbelly, was heard as he said to a man beside him who seemed to be in his early sixties. The people around his table began to discuss the war and its effects. Not long after, everyone in the restaurant began to talk about the war as they were all keen to know its details.  Richard sat quietly over a cup of beer which he hardly sipped. He was idly

Chapter 28 Don't ever think of leaving me
Sarah was roughly folding a pair of blue shorts into a pink duffle bag.         "You can tell me how much you hate me now, Sarah," Richard said as he calmly walked towards her. "How do I say that I'm such a  scumbag for hurting you and giving you a reason to want separation?" He added as he rested his hands on her shoulders but Sarah shoved them away furiously.          "How do I let you know how deeply sorry I'm for acting unreasonably, Sarah? I can apologize to your friend, Frank if you want me to, if that's the only way of proving to you how sorry I'm, Sarah," Sarah brushed past him and she walked to the window side. Her back was turned on him now.  She needed time to digest all

Chapter 29 Not so soon
The atmosphere was covered in thick smoke. So many men lay about, dead. Some were burnt beyond recognition by the atomic bomb the terrorists had detonated.   While Richard was fighting with Barukas, a serious war was going on, on the outside. An explosion had occurred a few miles away from them. One of Barukas' Men, cobra, as he was called, had used this opportunity to sneak into the room where the weapons were kept and caused a massive destruction. There were so many casualties. The situation outside was so ugly. Richard had never imagined that it would be this bad. There was no trace of Sarah.  He wandered dejectedly through the thick smoke but found nothing. His breath became lower with every passi
