Chapter 11
(FAYALITE) Being caught in such an awkward situation by the very father of Mr. Ryso was so embarrassing that I did not hesitate to push his son to the side and stood on both feet. I wanted to clarify to him that we were not going to do ‘that’ but explaining it would sound more awkward. “I… I am sorry, sir. It’s not what you think,” I stated but it sounded unconvincing especially that I even stuttered. I watched him take his seat on the sofa just near me while his son fixed himself and stood beside me. Stealing a glance at him hoping he would tell me what to do since this was such an expected turn of events. We were just talking about his proposal and yet his father that looked more intimidating than he was suddenly showed up. I gulped when he looked up at me with a frown on his face. I simply flashed a small smile before he turned

Chapter 12
Reaching the dining room while trying to catch my breath, I saw Alexander fumbling at his Ipad with a cup of coffee served on the table. Just like the other day, he was wearing a pair of suit but this time, instead of a black suit, it was gray this time. Well, I do admit that he looked better in black but set that thought aside since that was not the purpose why I came to see him so early in the morning. He seemed to have noticed my presence that he lifted his gaze at me with his usual non-expressive look. “Are you that hungry to run your way here?” he asked as he casually returned his gaze at his Ipad. I walked in his direction and towered over him with a hand on my hip. He never spared me a glance and still kept his eyes on the screen which was more infuriating. “Alexander, what was the document you made me sign last night? And please, I do not want to hear that it is a marriage contract just like wha

Chapter 13
Out of impulse, I raised my hand with an open palm and slapped him across the face. I felt my hand sting in pain after the impact and I could see the red mark on his cheek. His head was still tilted to the side so the moment he turned to meet my gaze, I cupped his cheek. “I… I… I am so sorry,” I apologized. “But it was definitely your fault for kissing me without permission. Do that again and I will slap you still.” I could not maintain eye contact with him out of fear that he might snap at me but then, he held my hand that was cupping his cheek. I gulped as he kissed the back of my hand whilst looking into my eyes. “Is that an invitation for another kiss?” I stared at him with a blank face. How could he act like this? But seeing him acting all smug after doing something without asking for my permission just made me want to slap him on the other cheek

Chapter 14
Out of impulse, I immediately crumpled the paper into a ball. I fell back on my seat in surprise when Alexander suddenly lunged at me and tried to grab the paper away. This guy was probably the only person I met who lacked the practice of self-control. Just because he wanted something, he would go about and take it without even considering the feelings of others. “What did you write?” he asked as he grabbed my wrists and pulled me towards him, still trying to get it. “Nothing,” I replied briefly. I brought my hands behind my back so he would not dare get ahold of it. Even though I was so sure that he would not be able to read them but I was simply worried he might become suspicious of me. Getting too much attention just because of who I really was and where I was from was a matter I did not want others to do. Before he could take it away, I pushed him to the side with a grunt, and with a rather lo

Chapter 15
Groaning in pain behind my back and at my neck, probably stiff neck, I slowly opened my eyes. The awful stench that still smelled like the combination of rotting flesh and the sweet perfume lingered in the air. It made me wince. I was about to sit up but I realized that both of my hands were tied behind me and my mouth was gagged with a cloth tied around my head. “She is awake!” one of the men yelled. I could not see who he was because of the mask that covered half of his face. My guess was that he was probably one of those men who took me from the mansion. Looking down at myself, a shower of relief came down on me when I saw that my gown was still intact and there was no sign that they took advantage of me while unconscious. My gaze shifted to my right where I heard footsteps becoming more audible. Just like the first guy, I could not see this man’s face because of the mask. Though, I could see his smi

Chapter 16
(FORSTERITE) Lansford’s warm breath brushed my skin but before his lips could even touch mine, I pursed my lips. Opening my eyes, I raised my hands and held his firm chest. He must really be working out a lot… but that aside, I pushed him and without hesitation, my hand landed right on his cheek. My hand stung in pain but either way, it still felt satisfying than the first slap I gave him a while back. Grinning, I flipped my hair as he returned his gaze at me. “Should I slap the other side to balance the pain?” I asked. He held his cheek that was turning red and simply snickered. I thought after doing that when he almost thought he could kiss me would totally tick him off but it was puzzling when he just returned a grin. “Playing hard-to-get, huh. I like that.” He winked at me as he took a few locks of my aubu

Chapter 17
“Why do you look so scared?” I never dared look up to Ciel because I was too scared to face him again. I… I did not prepare myself for his sudden appearance. Shutting my eyes closed, I felt him sit just beside me and his warm hand cupped my cheek. “Frost, is everything okay?” F-Frost? The only person who called me that was… Taking the courage to open my eyes, I slowly lifted my head and looked at the person in front of me. It was Lansford. I let out a breath of relief when I saw his annoying face and just slapped his hand away. He almost gave me a heart attack with how similar his voice was to Ciel. “I am okay. Leave me alone,” I said before grabbing the blanket and covering myself. Letting him see me scared and vulnerable like this was too embarrassing and he might just take advantage of me. I would never let a mere human like Lansford gain control o

Chapter 18
Pacing back and forth in my room with my heart beating fast, I could not find an excuse that can possibly explain what Lansford saw just a while back. I should crack my head to come up with a lie while he takes that woman away from this place. What should I tell him? Oh, shit! If only that woman did not anger me, my eyes would not glow in anger. This was nothing but a bad sign. Should I just escape and leave this place? Maybe this was also a sign that I should leave Lansford and find another person who would help me. But… But how would I take my bead back from him? I mean… I could not just go and kiss him while he was awake. Oh, that was not something I would do because he would surely assume that I like him. Ew! I stopped in my tracks when I heard his footsteps coming into my room. Maybe I should just hide. Running towards the large closet, I heard the door open even before I could hide away from his sight.

Chapter 19
I could not answer his question so I simply looked out the window and said nothing. If I were to lie to him, would he believe me? But I just had this feeling that he was not in the mood to be fooling around and if he caught me lying, he might just throw me out and I had nowhere else to go. I did not want that to happen, especially since those new places scare the hell out of me. “Are you not going to answer me?” Lansford asked after a few moments of silence between us. “I… I am just someone from the countryside,” I muttered as I remembered the words Lydia told me before in the hospital. I heard him scoff, a sign that he probably knew I was lying. But… he does not know that I was an immortal, doesn’t he? If he knew that, then, I’d be doomed. Stealing a glance from him, I saw that he was wearing that serious expression again. Seeing him like that honestly scares me a little

Chapter 20
Hoping that Lansford would come back and find me, I stayed at the shop for who knows how long. The ladies in uniform started to probably get annoyed at me since I was staying in their shop and was not buying anything, making me feel uneasy and uncomfortable. I did not want to embarrass myself so I hauled the bags with me and left. His scent was all over the place but even though I followed its trace, he was still nowhere to be found.  I did not know the direction where Lansford parked his car nor can I read the signs around me so I simply trusted my instinct and walked towards the stairs moving downwards. I knew I was lost but it was just hard to admit it to myself. After several minutes of going back and forth just to find the exit, I finally found myself exiting the huge building. There were a lot of people that I could no longer smell the scent of Lansford. With negativity hitting me right at that moment, I could not help but think t
