Konrad POV"You look great," Minerva admired when I came to pick her up. I wore a simple black button up shirt paired with jeans. "Thanks," I grumbled. I didn't know how to take compliments well because I was not used to them. They always made me feel uncomfortable. I'm pretty sure I glared at every girl who called me handsome and then scared them off in the process."Golly gee, Minerva. you look gorgeous too!" Minerva said in a mocking tone. Pointing out the fact that I was supposed to compliment her back. I laughed. "Sorry, I should've said that too. You do look great, Minerva." She rolled her eyes and linked her arm with mine. "Why do I feel like you are only taking me to make your mate jealous?" she raised her eyebrows. "That is simply not true," I said but in the back of my mind, I felt like I was caught. I kind of did invite her so it would bother Sophia and I'm glad I did after what she did the other night.Matthew and Sophia thought they were being sneaky but I heard them

Matthew POV [They are getting pretty cozy over there, huh?] my wolf barked inside as I watched Konrad and Sophia dancing slowly. At first, Konrad looked like he didn't want to touch her, but now they looked closer than ever. She hugged his waist and rested her head on his chest while he held her close. Jealousy stirred inside me. I proceeded to go get my date, but someone grabbed me. So I turned around to face Valentina. "What are you doing? she asked. "Going to get Sophia out of Konrad's grasp," I said irritably. "Now, let go of my hand." "No, don't do that. Don't ruin their moment. I've never seen Konrad look at somebody like that, not even his own family. I think she's finally getting through to him. Maybe she can change him," Valentina said. I hated to admit it, but she was right. If anyone can change Konrad, it has to be Sophia. She was good, and she needed to use her kindness to fight whatever evil lived inside him. "You are going to be okay, Matthew. You won't lose her.

Matthew POVThe encounter with that strange man left me surprised and confused. I wasn't sure what to make of it."He had purple eyes?" Valentina asked. She looked like she was deep in thoughts."It was brown but with a purple hue. And he had a strange aura surrounding him. He was a shifter for sure, but I couldn't tell what kind. He wasn't a werewolf, that's for sure," I said."How can you be sure?" Callan asked."His scent...it was different. It was almost rancid," I scrunched my nose at the memory."Maybe he just hadn't showered in a long time," Callan joked."Shut up, Cal. I know the difference. Trust me on this. That guy was evil. I could sense it. He kept saying crazy things to me," I shook my head."He was trying to create problems between you and Konrad," Valentina said absent-mindedly.That, I figured out myself. He was trying to tell me that Sophia couldn't be with both of us. She had to choose. But what would happen if it came to that? Will I have to fight Konrad? I sure wa

Konrad POVI struggled to get up, but I couldn't.Something was restraining me. I felt something painful and hot digging into my skin, so I pried my eyes open. It took a lot of effort to open my eyes as if I had been heavily drugged.I yanked both my arms to see what was confining me and heard rattling noises of chains. So that's what was holding me.Memories came flashing back to me, and I remembered what had happened. That bastard Alpha Jeremih...he is still alive, and he had the audacity to capture me.I let out a howl and tried to break out of the chains, but they didn't budge. I was stronger than the average werewolves, so this should've been easy. So what was the problem? Each time I pulled, my skin stung. It was as if tiny pieces of glass were piercing through me.They must have used the same iron to make these chains, so I couldn't get out. It looks like Alpha Jeremiah is smarter than he seems. Fucking asshole...I closed my eyes and tried to use my twin telepathy to communica

Matthew POV"I can feel him. They haven't taken them far," I said grimly as I completed the spell. "Re...really? Can you locate them?" Valentina asked. "Poor Sophia must be terrified.""I'm trying to pinpoint their exact location but having a hard time." I winced.Anger and concern didn't mix well together. Part of me was missing Sophia, while the other was ready to dig the grave of whoever kidnapped her. I wanted vengeance, but I also wish to find her. Damn it!I was supposed to be the calm and collected brother. The mature one, but fuck that—I want my mate! With shaking hands, I drew a circle in the garden while chanting words I've heard my parents use. It was for a blood ritual to find what my soul and body have lost, the person closest to my heart. Fae people have used this spell for centuries, and I hope it will let me locate Konrad and Sophia.I finished the circle, and it lit up the entire ground.Suddenly my mind was traveling. My body remained in the garden, but I'm floati
