CHAPTER 41
“I’m sorry,” I say when we’re in our bedroom. “I understand having a little fun while training to reduce the tension and make it more interesting, but you have to understand that sometimes that tension is good. If you can handle yourself in a tense situation while training, you’ll be amazing during a real fight,” he says, walking out of the bathroom with a towel. “You’re right. Forgive me for not thinking like that?” “All is forgiven. I’m not angry with you. Take off your clothes.” “Thank you for the towel,” I say and try to take the towel from him, but he refuses to give it to me. “Take off your clothes. I’ll dry you myself.” “I’m not a kid. I can dry myself.” “I didn’t say you’re a kid. I just want to do it.” I think about arguing with him but decide not to. He’s seen everything, so there’s no need to feel shy in front of him. As I take off my clothes, I smell Theo ’s arousal. Then I feel how turned on he is when his cock presses against my back. I turned away from him to ta

CHAPTER 42
I walk downstairs to find Theo after I finish talking to Mom. The castle is so big that I think I’m lost. I’m about to ask one of the guards if he’s seen Theo when I smell his scent in the door across from me. I walk toward the door, and I’m about to open it when I smell someone else’s scent inside. He must be in a meeting. I’ll come back later. I turn around to walk back to my room when I hear their conversation, and it pricks my interest. Werewolf hearing abilities make it hard not to hear everyone’s conversations. “We cannot afford war right now, my King. We don’t have the numbers,” the person with Theo says. “What would you have us do? Surrender to the vampire king?” “Of course not.” “Then what the hell are you saying, Jeremy?” Theo yells and I hear a bang on the table. “There are other ways. We can offer a peace treaty. Maybe talk to him and find out why he’s suddenly killing our kind. If he wants something from us, and we have it, we should give it to him. It would spare a

CHAPTER 43
“Tell me what’s bothering you, dear,” Mom says when we take our seat in the living room. “I need you to tell me how the vampire king plans to use my blood to revive his brother.” “You’re doing no such thing!” she screeched, understanding immediately why I’m asking the question. “Mom, werewolves are dying. More every day. I can’t sit back and continue to allow my people to die because of me.” “You’re not responsible for their deaths. Only the vampire king is responsible for that.” “I’d love to believe that, but it can’t be pure coincidence that he started killing werewolves after we rescued you from his prison.” “The vampire king hates werewolves. He might’ve been planning to go to war with us for a long time. Maybe it just happened after I was rescued that he suddenly decided to wipe out the werewolf clan.” “Mom, you know there’s very little chance that’s true. I’ve decided to offer myself to him with the condition that he stop killing werewolves.” “You’ll do no such thing. I

CHAPTER 44
Mom comes back in a record of time with a lot of hospital supplies. I quickly take them from her and begin to work on saving Mason's life. Mom helps me wear the gloves. I take a huge chunk of cotton wool and dip it in hydrogen peroxide. I use it to clean his wounds. Everywhere I touch on his skin with the cotton wool, he winces in pain. He has a lot of cuts on his chest. Who did this to him? I don't know how many times I mutter ‘sorry’ to him, but by the time I’m done, I’m saying it like a mantra. I used the bandages Mom bought and covered his wounds. He'd need stitches, but I’m not a doctor, so I can't sew his wounds. I don't know how to, and I couldn't even if I was told how to. I would feel like I’m hurting him more than helping him by passing a needle through his skin. Bandages are what we will use to stop his bleeding for now. Once I’m done with his upper body, I remove his pants to see if he has any injuries. His knee seems to have popped out. I close my eyes and pop it back in

CHAPTER 45
It's been a few days since I found and healed Mason. Theo will be arriving later today. He’s supposed to come and take me home, but only he will be going back to his territory. I plan to leave Theo , but I need to break his heart in the process. I wish I could just leave him, but we all know that Theo would search the world for me. Things were fantastic between us. He’d never leave me alone even if I ran away from him. The only way to make sure he won't look for me is if I break his heart. Later in the day, I stand in front of Mom's door as Theo walks toward me with a smile on his face. He looks happy to see me. I wish I could reciprocate the feeling, but all I feel is sadness because of what is about to happen. “Hello, love,” Theo says, leaning in for a kiss, but I move my face away before he can make contact. He immediately starts panicking. “Did I do something wrong?” he asks, worried. “Why don't we go inside and talk,” I say, walking inside the house. But before I can fully

CHAPTER 46
I open my eyes to a dark, smelly place. I look around to try and see if I recognize where I am, but I don't. I try to change my eyes to my werewolf eyes, but I can't. I try to contact Eva, but I can't either. Where the hell am I? I stand up from the cold ground and try to feel around the room to guess where I’m. I groan a little as my muscles hurt when I move them. I think I was on the floor for a while. I put my hands in the air and try to feel anything around me. I move toward my right and my hands come in contact with the wall. I lean toward the wall and continue to walk around the place. I quickly remove my hand from the bars when I touch them. They’re made out of silver. They burn me the moment I felt them. I must be in a vampire or human hunter’s prison. I don’t know which one to wish for. I’m turning back to where I think I woke up from when the lights suddenly come on in the room. I shield my eyes as I try to adjust to the light. “Hello, beautiful, we finally meet,” a voice b

CHAPTER 47
I can't believe he did this to me. I trusted him. I know I planned to give myself to the vampire king, but it's different when your friend gets you kidnapped. It makes sense now why he came to my old pack injured. The first place to go was Theo's territory, not my old pack if he was looking for me. I can't believe I didn't think of that, but how could I? I trusted him. I still remember him telling me that no vampire could find me in his cottage the first time I came. When I woke up and found out that vampires kidnapped me, I brushed it off, but it makes sense now. I’m even starting to wonder if the thing he said about Theo dying when he marks me is true. My mouth gapes in shock. Of course, it's not true. He knew I was going to take him home, and that's all he needed. He needed me to go to his place willingly and to make sure Theo wouldn't ruin his plans. I can't believe Mason would do this to me. “Why?” I ask, tears streaming down my face. I can't believe I hurt my mate for nothing.

CHAPTER 48
ANASTASIA I don't know how many days have gone by since I got here. It’s always dark, so I can't tell when it's day or night. I hear footsteps approaching me. I’m sure it's Mason bringing food. He brings food twice every day like clockwork. I haven't forgiven him for what he did. I don't talk to him when he tries to make conversation. I just take my food from him and go back deeper into my cell to eat it. I expect to see Mason walking toward my door; instead, I see women. They’re three of them. The one in front opens my cell door, and they all walk inside. The two behind grab my hands and make me kneel. They spread my hands wide as the one who opened my cell walks toward me with a needle in her hand. I can't see clearly, but I’m sure it's silver inside the syringe. I struggle to free my hands from the two women holding me, but I’m unable to. The leader finds a vein in my left hand and wastes no time injecting me. I scream in pain as the silver enters my bloodstream. The fastest way

CHAPTER 49
Nickolas drags my body on the floor using my hair. By the time he releases me, I’m surprised I still have hair on my head. “Do it fast, Ava. The werewolf king's army is stronger than we anticipated,” Nickolas says to a woman standing across the room. “You don't have to tell me twice. Tie her to the ground,” the woman, who I’m guessing is Ava, says. Nickolas drags my body to the center of the room. He uses a rope to tie my body down to the ground. My legs and hands are spread wide open. Ava places candles all around me. She releases a ball of fire that spreads across the room and lights up all the candles. She begins to chant words the same way Ekaterina does every time she casts a spell. Ava is a fire witch, but her hair doesn’t glow as she casts spells. I watch as her tongue moves fast as she speaks in a foreign language. The fire in the candles around me suddenly grows high and meets each other at the top. She placed the candles around me at a specific position, so they form a st

CHAPTER 50
“Nickolas!” I shout as he is about to step out. He turns and faces me. “Let’s get this done with,” I say, running toward him, but I see something in my peripheral vision that makes me halt. That’s not good. Ekaterina creates a portal, but before she can pass through it with Anastasia, someone closes it and makes it disappear. Ekaterina has told me only one witch in the world could close another witch’s portal. The witch Queen. “Hello, dear, it’s been a while since I last saw you,” the evil witch says to Ekaterina with a smirk on her face. Ava must’ve told her sister, Rebecca, Ekaterina was here. Witches can send messages to each other by using spells. I want to keep my promise and help Ekaterina, but right now isn’t the time. Nickolas is getting away. I will help her once I’m done with him. I continue to run toward Nickolas. Grabbing him by the collar, I spin him around. I punch him square in the face, but Nickolas quickly heals from it. I hit him two more times in the ribs, but
