Chapter 41
SOMA: “Mark, I have to go now,” I announce, getting up from the training mat set up outside the main quarters. A sudden odd feeling just took over me. Really strange to me I just say because I have never felt that way before. Feels more like a thorn in my heart and I can’t seem to explain how it came to be. “Where to?” Mark’s voice gets to my hearing, bringing about a further confusion in me. Can’t even say how much bother I am going through at the moment. “I don’t know,” I say, and with already somewhat conviction of what I have in mind, add, “My room, maybe,” “Are you okay?” he asks as I begin to take a move say from the location to head into the building to freshen up from the sweaty skin of mine. I should respond to Mark’s question but I do not see the reason for suc

Chapter 42
SOMA: The ride into the Dark Moon territory with Leonard was super awkward. Probably the most awkward I’ve ever been involved in. Since he hopped into my car, we haven’t exchanged any words with each other. And in as much as I would like to keep it that way for the sake of arriving at our destination fast — which I have no idea of — I can’t flag off the things eating me up. I’ve got questions. A lot of them. I need a better understanding of what happened in this pack that has me rushing down here without having a clue. Just an eerie instinct. To be honest, never would I have imagined the possibility of an internal penetration in the Dark Moon pack. With everything I’ve heard about their forces, I would be expecting much better from them. That’s if what the guard out there told me is true. I finally figure out that it truly is when I see a group of warri

Chapter 43
SOMA: I have proof that he is alive. It wasn’t enough smelling his scent off the piece of clothing I saw on the floor, but at least, it gave me a clue about his existence. And the feeling, the bond that I should say pulls me toward him, was still there. Faint, but still functioning. Even with no idea of his whereabouts until I left the premises of the Dark Moon territory, I already have something figured out. And it is to start to look for a means of saving him myself no matter the cost that it takes. I’m going to make whoever caused this disaster pay in double folds. ‘Cassie! Get my weapons ready. I’m almost at the quarters,’ I apparently yell into the link with my sister as I drive to the main quarters of our pack. ‘What do you need them for?’ she throws back a question at me. ‘Just get them ready,’ and I block off the link

Chapter 44
SOMA: “Where did you say he is?” I ask Mark after we get to the living area but realize it is empty of people. Thought we would find him there. “He’s outside,” Mark says, and I nod in response as we continue to walk, this time to the main entrance of the building. I’m a little bothered about Tyrone being here, especially after knowing that it hasn’t been long since I left his territory. I can confidently say nothing would warrant him coming at me for the issue with his pack. At least not on the negative side. Still one has to be wary. Another problem is how presentable I look at the moment. Can’t say I’m well dressed to meet with a fellow leader. I should be in the best of outfits to probably look more presentable than this to paint a better picture of me to him. But this moment was critical. If not Tyrone, whom I know has never been to the Blood

Chapter 45
SOMA: “The Black Lotus,” Tyrone says and then looks over at every one of us circled around the round table, landing his gaze on me eventually. “We think that is the group that wreaked havoc on this pack yesterday. And not that we are thinking about it anymore, we might have as well concluded that it is their doing,” The first thing I do when he released the information to the round table is to first have a look at the rest of them to get their reaction... apart from Tyrone himself. Hailey, Leonard, and Zane the head warrior all had the same reaction — neutral. Probably because they were informed already about how this meeting was supposed to go. Mark, instead, gave out a little twitch. That, I was able to observe as he was seated beside me. Well, they all gave out something one way or the other. Now it is left with me. “And what group is that?” I suddenly say

Chapter 46
SOMA: “Arrgh!” I yell out in frustration as I hit the pillar in front of me. Everything that went down in there was horribly terrible. And it was no way to solve the ongoing issue.  I can’t believe I actually announced that I have a mate in their pack. Now they will be curious as to who it is. The worst thing is that I might eventually not be allowed to go on the intended mission because they would feel I might let my emotions have the better of me. Speculations upon speculations. That’s just how I live my life most time. Most of the time it is a means for me to make out excuses for the wrongs of someone and I’m starting to find it annoying. There is this urge to hit the pillar again but I withhold myself from doing it. Mainly because I do not trust the strength that would accompany the hit. What I eventually do is grab on to it, gripping it in full force to vent my

Chapter 47
SOMA:   “Hmph, new hair,” Leonard comments as I make my way to the front where he is seated alongside several warriors that I can hardly make out their identity. There is also Zane who, to me, isn’t dressed like he is accompanying us on the mission.   “Yeah,” I say as I bend with a knee to the ground to lace my booth for the umpteenth time. I don’t know the reason I still haven’t gotten it right.   “Black sure looks good on you. But why did you have to dye your hair black now?”   As much as I want to facepalm myself for how stupid that sounds, I still have to finish the lacing of my booth so I keep it in me. But when I stand upright eventually, I shake my head in disappointment. Really disappointed that Leonard would even make such a ridiculous statement.   “Leonard,” I start by calling his name in a manner that reverences my disappointment, “You already know what we are going fo

Chapter 48
SOMA: “Dammit,” I mutter when I feel a slice on my leg, prompting me to look down for confirmation. Whatever that might have been cut through my pants and into my skin, with blood already trickling down my leg. When I sight it, it looks like tiny wire but seems to be pointy, which probably was the reason for the cut on my leg. “What is that?” I say, a little loud enough for Leonard and the warriors to hear while still staring at the tiny wire, a bit uneasy at what it might be. “That is— Oh shit, get down!” Leonard suddenly yells out loud, and quickly I find myself on the ground, awaiting what was going to happen next. And something sure did happen. I could hear the sound of things moving in the air. By the sound of it all, I’m sure they were metallic. Pretty fast I must say as they were cutting through the air. I might have been fas

Chapter 49
LUIS: The liquid from having sweated a lot trickled down my skin. And at this time it was a lot uncomfortable for me because I could not reach out to wipe it off lest it made the tingling sensation in my body like it is doing now. I wiggle my body a little, with the hope of reaching for my pit. The rattling of the chains that I am bound to make a lot of noise from my tiny movement that I am sure I am going to alert those who put me in here. It was a useless bid to try to change the course of direction of the bead of sweat because I can suddenly feel it go down my right pit in a manner that has me wanting to shake it off me. I may have gone a week bound this way. I have no idea what the time is or how long I have been placed in this hellhole. I just know that I opened my eyes to this place and have been like this all along. I have yelled a lot and requested to know the mastermind

Chapter 50
SOMA: I peep from behind the rock we choose to take cover with as I look down into an environment that I would never expect to see deep into the woods. I do not see myself crossing through the route that we took to get here. But here I am, trying as much as possible to get a better view of the supposed location that has given us problems for the past two days. “So, this is it?” I ask, directing the question to Leonard who was right beside me doing the same thing. What I can see down below is a group of men walking back and forth the whole supposed territory of theirs. They all have one thing in common though despite their lack of features and recognition. And that thing was their black outfits with went with a black facial mask only giving out their eyes. If I can see clearly. “Yes,” Leonard whispers as he responds to my question, “those men over there are the Black Lotu
