Chapter 11 - Mr Valence is Waiting
ROCCO Be proud of me here, I didn’t go charging in demanding to be seen. I didn't take a big bunch of flowers or an invitation to dinner. I am going to play her at her own cold game. I spent at least an hour pondering my next move. Admittedly fifty-eight minutes of it were spent trying to get hold of Callum to get his buy-in for the Alpha’s new venture. Business partners or hostages he'd grimly joked. A good portion of my time was spent fending off jokes from Jacob about the disgusting state of my office too. I ordered the new desk by the way.But here we are a week later, I have a clean, spunk-free desk and a suit made for seducing on. Fabulous. Getting up at a decent hour in the morning was a trial instead of my usual lazy lie-in but such sacrifices must be made sometimes. I went for a deep navy, almost black suit, white crisp shirt and a matching navy tie. The Godiva Corporate Entertainment office was as soulless and predictable as one would expect.

Chapter 12 - Do we have a deal?
SELENEThere was no way to know it was him. Fuck my life sideways, upside down and back again when I walked out of that lift. He looked like a dream. That navy suit and tie was just what I loved a man to wear. His dark eyes looked me up and down and I knew he liked what he saw. A rush of excitement flooded straight to my panties and I just about managed to pick my jaw off the floor. It was getting increasingly hard to stick to my zero shifter policy. Not when he looked at me with those coffe-coloured eyes. So rich and warm I keep getting lost in them.So of course I made a shitty remark about the scotch. Standard pushing people away instinct. But he seems to enjoy the challenge, especially given the fact he looked at my lips for way too long.

Chapter 13 - Diamonds and Cigar Boxes
SELENE“Honestly you should have heard Jax all afternoon,” I moaned to Troy as he sat on the end of my bed. His long brown hair fell down to his shoulders and his green eyes squinted at me as I put on some red lipstick.“You don’t need that shade,” he groaned, “it’s too much, I keep telling you.”“Just because you’re gay doesn’t mean you know everything about fashion you know. It doesn’t go hand in hand with liking guys,” I smirked, ignoring him as I applied the final touches.“I'm an expert on you, not fashion. You know that dress is going to wreck this guy. I’m very proud of myself to be honest,” he mocked as he lay back onto my mattress and looked up at the ceiling.

Chapter 14 - That Dress
ROCCO "Rocco, you need to play it straight with this one," Jacob urged. "What do you mean?" I replied, delicately balancing a coconut and a bottle of ten thousand dollar vodka like a bloody magician. "You like her. So don't do anything too clever," he said. "Is this an intervention in my love life?" I huffed, ignoring their smirks. "You know what he means," Callum chipped in, "I know you think it's no consequence but you are hung up on this one. How many floozies have you turned down since she came in that time" "At least a dozen," Jacob helpfully chimed in. I only grunted and pretended to be too busy with my arrangement.

Chapter 15 - Can I ask you something?
ROCCO My kiss was returned just as greedily. Suit jacket clenched tightly in her fists, jerking me forward. I had one hand on her bare back, revelling in the softness of her skin. Tingling electric followed my hand as it felt up and down keeping her close to me. My other hand was bunched into her hair, twirling blonde curls.I was sunk. Utterly sunk by this gorgeous woman. I moved to kiss her neck as she tilted her head sideways and let out a little sigh of pleasure. My blood racing like an express train, my roving hand trailed down her back and found her round, peachy ass. I couldn't help squeezing it, like a helpless moth to a flame."No panties, what are you doing to me?" I groaned into her neck."It's all your

Chapter 16 - A Tangled Tango
ROCCOAs the casino winds down following the millionaires drunkenly falling into their limo a whole new tango begins. How to get rid of every other person apart from Selene. Thankfully Jacob and Callum were the world's greatest wingmen."Everyone!" Jacob called out, taking off his suit jacket and rolling his white sleeves up. All the staff turned and looked. "We have smashed it tonight - drinks on us at the Jericho Bar! We will sort this place out tomorrow!"The dozen or so croupiers, doormen and waitresses left cheered and filed into the locker room to get their coats.I saw Troy talking to Selene furtively, she smiled widely at him and stroked his face. God I am incredibly relieved he's gay. Body and face from Baywatch that

Chapter 17 - Only Love Can Break Your Heart (Selene)
TWO WEEKS LATER – FULL MOONSELENESensible, boring Selene has been in full control of my life from the second that bastard uttered his cheap line. Two weeks might have passed but still I moan relentlessly at Troy. He's listening, just, but I can tell the patience is wearing thin. Having to hear Jax rave after each of her lunch meetings with him isn't helping. The very next day, Rocco rang Jax's desk asking if he could take her to lunch. The fucker. Yes it was business, a casino launch takes a lot of planning, things to discuss but still. Jax raved to the whole office about how fabulously he had treated her, a lavish bouquet of flowers arrived soon after thanking her for her support on the project. He'

Chapter 18 - Only Love Can Break Your Heart (Rocco)
ROCCO Let me be clear right from the off. I am not 'dating' Jax. She is an interesting, cute woman and might be into me but these are business lunches. If you must know I am having these lunches to avoid having to go into her place of work and see you-know-who. Especially since impulsive idiot Rocco has set some fairly dangerous wheels in motion. Johnny Deco had shown up a week ago at the Gilded Falcon. He was a short, scrawny guy with a receding hairline. If you passed him in the street you would think he sold flowers but he's a fixer in the local mafia. He likes to brag, when he's had a big win and everyone else has left. Lolling on my bar stools with a cognac telling me tales about how many men he had to take teeth from to find out the latest snitch. Interesting yet terrifying.

Chapter 19 - Massage with a Message
SELENEI have never checked into a hotel as fast in my life. Like an edgy KGB informant I quickly skirted around the foyer, keeping out of sight, ducking my head down, until safely in the elevator. After locking the door behind me I stayed there, hands pressed against the white wooden frame. Whether it was to make sure I stayed in it or to keep someone out was a question I didn't dare ask myself.Resting my head against the door I sighed in frustration. Even though he'd embarrassed me a fortnight ago I couldn't help my stomach flipping and toes curling at the way he looked at me. Those brown eyes were devilish. Like whirlpools they just sucked me in every time.Turning around, I tilted my head back against the door, lightly tapping my skull as though it would knock

Chapter 20 - Twisted Fates
ROCCO My nervous energy carried me homeward, back to my cosy nest of a casino. At least here I was confident I knew what I was doing. As Jacob helped me set up for the evening alongside the red-waistcoated staff I found myself checking my watch. I wonder what she thought when it all arrived, did she think it a cheap move, was my note too vague? The massage I couldn’t help adding to the list of gifts, despite me trying to convince you of my higher, more moral aims to apologise. At the same time someone should be touching that silken body of hers tonight, even if it wasn’t me. I received raised eyebrows from Jacob at my jaunty new mood, as I bounced around the casino floor, but he went along with it smiling to himself.I realised I had been so caught up in the last few weeks chasing Selene I hadn&rsq
