Jaxson POV It was 4:30am the next morning and the storm clouds had rolled it. The thunder and lighting was impressive but the rain had yet to show itself. The wind was blowing up to 40mph gusts of winds as the heavens threatened harm to those who were outside. Unfortunately, we will be braving this storm to get the assassin. Sitting in my office, Kyle, Mason and a few head warriors were present as we strategized. This needs to be perfect and if he is keeping those people for experiments, then we can’t wait another day. They needed to be saved. The plan was to be discrete so he wouldn’t be spooked or kill his hostages before we could get to him. With my skills, I would be going in alone and Kyle and Mason would be very close incase I needed help. Everyone else will be waiting back a little for the signal to attack. We were dressed in all black. I had pulled out my black cargo pants, black athletic jacket with a tank under it. Our faces had black smeared on them to blend it but w

Scarlet POV We watched the guys leave the office, slamming the door shut behind them. I was lost for words as I looked down at the layers of boxes in front of me. Stacked three high and overflowing with papers. The only thing I could think of was how many paper cuts I will be getting by doing this. “The…fuck…” Jennifer dragged each word out as she too examined all the boxes. “How nice of them to be labeled.” I said sarcastically. Each box said either Jared or Isaac on it. “Which office would you like?” Jennifer asked me. “I’ll take Jared’s, you can have Isaac.” I responded with a heavy sigh. If there was anything to find, I feel like it will be in Jared’s pile. “You got it. I will pick them up and move them for you since they are pretty heavy. Where do you want to work?” Jennifer asked. “Umm, I’ll work at the desk since bending over isn’t my strong suit right now.” Putting all of Jaxson’s papers in a pile and putting them on a shelf so I could put all of Jared’s office pap

Scarlet POV “Scarlet, you can take the alarm off. Water is all clear.” Jaxson mind-linked me. My ass hit the chair hard enough that it rolled back a little. Exhaustion was setting in with all these scares and drama that is happening lately. “Okay.” I messaged back. “You can turn that off, water is clear.” I told Jennifer. She quickly got up and turned it off. “Water restriction is over, use it at your own will.” I mind-linked the whole pack. I had a massive headache from doing so and the replies didn’t help. “Did Jaxson say anything else?” Jaxson’s phone started to ring. I mindlessly reached for it. “No.” I said as I pressed accept and held it up to my ear. “Hello?” “Oh, Scarlet! How nice of you to answer Alpha Jaxson’s phone. I take it, he is away?” I physically felt the blood run down my face and my throat to become instantly dry. My eyes widened as I mouthed ‘oh shit’ to Jennifer. “He stepped out of the office but will be back shortly. It is nice to hear from you, is the

Jaxson POV “Scarlet! Just come out!” She was holding herself hostage in the bathroom, not wanting to leave it. Apparently, her formal dress didn’t flatter her growing belly and she was upset. Since she wouldn’t let me look at her, I couldn’t tell her how pretty she looked, regardless. “I’m just so huge!” She yelled out “You will have a few months and will get bigger!” I don’t understand what the issue is. She is beautiful with my child growing inside of her. “WHAT?” She sounded pissed. Shit. um… “Scarlet, honey.” pinching the bridge of my nose, I was overwhelmed with these mood swings. “You are the most beautiful person and I love seeing your body change with my child growing inside of you. You are creating life and that is a beautiful thing. I would be worried if your belly wasn’t growing!” She opened the door and my jaw dropped. She was wearing a deep purple gown, it was very form fitting and showed off her belly. She still has a perfect figure and the sweetheart neckline tra

Jaxson POV“Jaxson! Over here!” I heard from afar. Looking over the heads of the crowd, I saw Damian waving slightly at me. Nodding and then picking up my bags, I headed over to him. “Hey man!” We slapped hands and into a grip before our elbows hit each other's chest into a manly hug. “Flight go okay?” “Yeah, I didn’t realize we were landing in a public airport.”“Well, my private one got shut down due to “improper lane length” according to the government.” He put quotes in the air around that. “Makes sense really.” I teased“That’s why I need you to get this done ASAP.” “Me too, I would really like to shove his own ass down this throat.” I murmured as we slid into Damian’s car. “I understand you have met the driver before?” Damian motioned and none other than Anthony turned and nodded at me. “Well, fuck me. What are you doing here?” “I worked for the council on government assignments and since we aren’t doing that anymore, I have come to lead my skills to you.”“Please tell m
