*CAIN ARIUS*“Come on in. Why are you both so late?” Mom asked as soon as she opened the door for us. She had a wide smile on her face which contradicted my state of mind. “Are they here?” I heard Clay’s voice from behind her ask and turning around to give an affirmative answer she left the door open for us to cater to ourselves as she went back in. I am sure if she had paid close attention then she would have noticed the awkward tension that Asa and I had between us and though partly it made me sad I was also happy to evade any sad questions on this night of celebration. We stood silently together for a few seconds listening to the laughter inside and then sighing as if annoyed at me she walked in first without a single glance towards me.“How dare you be late for your sister’s celebration?” I heard Leia shout on Asa’s arrival and when I walked in I saw her pulling Asa in a headlock making her take a seat beside her at the dinner table while the younger sister shouted out strings o

*CAIN ARIUS*“Save me, Clay.”That was the first thing she said with dread-filled in her voice as if she had just escaped from a villainous figure that was after her life.“What’s wrong?” Clay asked worriedly bunching her in his arms as she sniffled and cried there looking at me with accusation gleaming in her bright emerald eyes. No, don’t look at me like that! I didn’t do anything to you!I wanted to shout at her that she didn’t get to play the victim when I had equally suffered because of her but hiding her face in his chest Clay comforted her by rubbing her back as he whispered warm assurance to her.“You don’t need to be scared anymore, my dear Asa, I am here for you. Please don’t cry,” he said as he passed me a glare while patting her head with his other hand that had her wrapped in his hold.“Take me away from here, please. I can’t stay here any longer,” she said and in a swift motion and a passing smile, Clay pulled her out of my room and towards his.I was stunned for a secon

*ASA TRINE*Breaking away from the kiss I felt air fill my lungs again as I heaved out a heavy breath and smiled with fresh tears in my eyes as I realized that Clay had given up on me.I was free.“Asa?” Cain’s voice trembled as he waited for me to gather myself while a hint of disbelief still affected the warmness that it should have held.“Have you really come back to me Asa?” he asked again and fixing my green eyes on his beautiful golden orbs that had been distinctively displaying the cracked pieces of his broken heart I nodded my head and kissed him again to assure him.He sucked in a fluttering breath, trying to control his tears from sprouting out again and chuckling myself to stop me from crying as the tears slipped past my lid I said, “I am back Cain. I am only yours. I only love you, my mate.”“Say it again,” he said, his voice on the verge of begging as he let me wipe his tears away but not once did he close his eyes.“I love you, Cain,” I said my voice firmer to make him b

*ASA TRINE*“Are you serious? Asa? Why are you doing this?” Cain fretted as he walked behind me but I didn’t even spare him a glance knowing well enough that all my words and sentiments will be wasted on him. At my silence, I heard him let out a frustrated sigh and without saying anything else he broodingly followed me to the Alpha’s office. There I noticed Michael and Leia already talking to Alpha about something in hushed voices that I was respectful to not eavesdrop on. The atmosphere was tense in the room and I could tell it was related to me when everyone stopped all talking at once on my arrival.“Good morning everyone,” I greeted them with a smile, and by the looks of sympathy and hesitance that they had been garnering on their faces I could tell that they hadn’t forgotten my episode of ugly crying in the hospital yesterday.“Asa, you don’t have to force yourself to look alright,” Leia said as she stepped forward towards me and halting her with a determined smile on my face I

*ASA TRINE*“What are you doing here?” Ethan’s voice almost made my heart beat right out of my chest at the suddenness of it.Turning around to look at him I noticed that he was alone and squeezing my brows at him I asked, “How did you recognize me?”Giving me a ‘duh’ expression I realized how dumb that question was coming from a werewolf and clicking his tongue he said, “Please tell me you really didn’t think that a scarf wrapped around your head and sunglasses would be enough to conceal your identity as ‘Asa’?”Usually, he would play along and joke but this time he sounded kind of mad, and realizing that he must have still been angry with me I sighed, “No, I didn’t, and are you both still angry with me?”At my words, he gave me a look of disbelief and said, “Well how could you tell her and not me that all this had been happening with you? I thought you liked me more than Kate!”He was hurt I could see that and rolling my eyes at his obvious dramatics I apologized, “It’s been only th
