Chapter 30: I love you
I lie on the bed draped in a transparent white gown that leaves very little to the imagination. The sweetheart neckline cuts low popping almost half of my breast out, as the thigh-high cuts on both ends fall away from my legs. I prop on my elbows twisting my body in a slow sensual turn, lying on my stomach. My cheeks rest on the linen sheet, the slight red tint on them transferring to the sheets. I run my lips on my bottom lip, curling them in my mouth to leave a shiny layer of moisture, as my eyes follow Max around the room. He lights the candles letting the light from them fill the room, of my east chambers. Raising my legs, I curl my toes gulping through the rising heat. The muscles in his back flex, with my every moment, and even though he pretends not to care, the protruding veins in his neck tell me he is aware of my presence in the room. —---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Crickets buzz in the surroundings as I

Chapter 31: I love you...BUT
The feel of her lips and her taste still lingers in my mouth after twelve hours of sleep. Last night was undoubtedly the best day, night, month, year of my life, and I want to shout to the world that the Queen they all admire belongs to me just me. I look at Adria lying on her bed, in nothing but her long night slip dress. Last night, she passed out between our kisses, and I carried her in here as my desires ached to wake her up and hold her in my arms forever. And as if the deities are playing a game, she looks ethereal today. Beautiful than she had ever been. Her cheeks are flushed from the alcohol, and her long eyelashes cast a shadow on the clear texture of her skin. I prop on my elbow taking in her features, tracing them down my fingers memorizing them in every muscle. Like I can sculpt her even with my eyes closed. I draw my thumb over her bottom lip, as it escapes - bouncing, hitting over her top lip, and my head spins in ecstasy. My head is unable to wrap around the truth t

Chapter 32: Happy days
Max was not joking about the concubine rules. I checked the files we signed, and the rule was overtly mentioned in one of the hundred pages that were placed to protect the rights of the concubines and to make sure they deserve a proper status from every person in the kingdom. I frown at the papers in my hand, as the statement of the rule taunts me. But what affects me the most is the cunning smile of Max standing beside me as he peeks through the writings. I squint my eyes, elbowing him in the stomach, as he groans with pain attracting the attention of both Lycan and Azrael sitting on the opposite side of the room. I roll my eyes at the setup or the game that fate likes to play with me. When I thought everything will be going all right between me and Max, now that I have confessed - we are determined to fall in love with each other all over again. I don't regret it. In fact, I love the idea of loving each other without any underlying reasons, or force, but Max has taken this punishm

Chapter 33: The day of the ritual
The folds of the lake shimmer, as small fairy lamps, illuminate the area with golden glitter. And as the orange in the sky blends with the gray hue, the light slowly blends with the air reaching every small corner across the lake. People flood in amidst the chants of the monk, placing the small fairy lamps in pristine circles to create a safe circle to bless the auspicious day with their wishes and blessings. Looking from afar, tucked in the chambers the entire place looks prepared for someone who is about to marry and dedicate their entire lives to someone, something to signify love, and purity. But all the fuss is about the acceptance and the binding of a person to a royal. Even if it means they lose everything they have. The ritual of bathing was created to ensure that both the people remain untouched by anyone outside for the next five days, and all the body must feel is the presence and the love from the person in the bond. Well, the irony of the situation- nothing about the bo

Chapter 34: The aphrodisiac
I walk down the road scattering its golden dust on my feet, the white silk on my gown conflicting, and blending the shades of silver. The path turns narrower, shedding one person each behind my back as we move forward until all that is left is me walking to the center of the lake. My toes dip on the edge of the lake, as it clutches onto the warmth seeping through the fairy lamps, but as I walk forward through the folds of silver the water turns cold sending shivers through me in the cold night. Spectators watch me through the end of thirty -six circles, as heads tip-toe above each other to get a view of the ceremony. I take a deep breath through the chill of the water, as the monk on the edge tells me to stand in the coinciding hexagons. He chants verses, blessings, and prayers, as I dip myself in the water until it reaches my chest. “Dip your head in the water. This will wash you off every touch that you have had until now.”, the monk says, and I dip inside the water. The water sl

Chapter 35: Sleeping Potion
I turn on my heels, raising the bottle in the air to hit the person when the bottle gets caught in mid-air, as a hand covers my mouth. My eyes widen in disbelief, as I shrug away from the grasp of Max, standing in front. “Why the hell are you sneaking around?”, I whisper under my breath. His eyes travel on my naked form, tiny beads of sweat forming on his forehead. He gulps, the intensity of it making it audible between the four walls, and I smirk. I place a finger under his chin, tracing his jaw to make him lookup. The green in his eyes turned dark with lust, as I felt the heat in them peeking behind his lashes. “Like what you see”, I say moving closer. His hands snake around my waist, as they burn through my skin at the touch and he pulls me in. My breasts touch his chest, the metal on it pressing cold against my skin. My head dips back at the sensation, as I curl my lips into my mouth to stop from making any sound. Snaking his other arm around my neck, he brings my lips closer t

Chapter 36: Jealousy
I walk out of the bathroom wrapping the nothingness around me - covered with the emotions, the feelings, and the touch that lingers at every pore of my skin. Water trickles down the length of my body, latching the beads on my curve, as I cross my feet before each other making my way to the room. A howl of wind gushes through the drapes of the night forming a new skin of cold around me and I shudder - not at the cold, but at the pair of dark eyes that stare at me through the fire reflecting them. Azrael seems all innocent, timid, and soft from the way he carries himself, or whimpers around me. Yet there is something in his eyes that speaks the devil in him. Like the tales of hatred or revenge that peek through the corner of his lashes, oozing an aura of danger. My toes curl against the cold tile, as I will myself to not fall under the spell of the gaze and give away any ounce of emotion that will let him through me. Walking further, I attempt to take a deep breath, only for it to be

Chapter 37: PARADISE
His fingers unlace through my hairs, making their way around my neck, engulfing the flesh between muscular fingers that wrap around the entire length. His body moves backward, slamming mine on the window, his lips crashing down on mine in a fervent kiss. They nibble along the flesh, tugging at them, pulling them, soothing them with his tongue, and my senses go into overdrive at the intensity of his touch.  They speak the possessiveness to me, his tongue removing every trace of other man’s name from inside me, and I reciprocate all breathless to his advances. His lips torture me with their sweetness, never leaving me even when my lungs had drained all the air in them. They burn in my insides at the lack of air, and I wrap my fingers around his neck to break him from the possession he was under. My nails dig in his neck, surely leav

Chapter 38: Paradise -2
A warm tickle of breath wakes me up from my deep slumber, the light of the day making a way even through my closed eyelids. I open my eyes, feeling the hard and warm surface beneath me, and I do not have to check twice to know what it is. Tilting my head to look up, I feel the warm tickle of breath on my skin, as a small smile creeps to the corner of my lips.  Max lies like dead meat below me, yet his grip on me is so tight that I can barely move an inch of my body out of his embrace. At this angle, I can see the beauty sprawled along his neck, the marks of my nails, mixed with the bites of our love. His lips part slightly - depicting their swollen form tinted with red, and I smirk at the fierce love we made the entire night, contorting in weird and different positions.  And well, the fact can't be denied, the best sex is a
