Taming the Big Bad Alpha のすべてのチャプター: チャプター 321 - チャプター 330

Jacob floated in a sea of memories, each one more vivid and enticing than the last. He had agreed to the ancient process of recovering his lost memories two days ago, and since he had sunk into the soil bed, he hadn't woken up. The healer had warned him that the journey would be perilous, that he might get lost in the labyrinth of his own mind. But Jacob had been desperate. He needed to remember, needed to reclaim the pieces of his past that had been torn away. He needed to overcome the taint that the vile creature of the undead had left on him. If he had decided the easy way out, he knew that he would never have forgiven himself. The first three hours had been agonizing. He had felt his body convulsing, his muscles straining against an invisible force. The spasms were violent, jerking him around like a puppet on strings. He had thrashed on the soil bed, gasping for breath, his mind bombarded with fragmented images and sensations. It was as if every memory he had ever had was tryi

That’s what had nagged Jacob at the back of his mind. He was barely twelve, or was it eleven, so there had been no way for his wolf to have metamorphosed. His wolf at that time should have been a mere gene in his body, not a full-blown wolf that had been strong enough to wade off the full effect of an attack by the undead. It shouldn’t have been possible, but thank the gods that it had been. He would have been as vile as ever, or he would have been dead. “You are right, healer. I am not sure the reason why it had come to the surface to protect him at such a young age. But does it matter?” Amia asked, speaking up for the first time, since they had congregated here. She was sitting between Prest and Rich. “We should just be glad that he came out unscathed. That’s all. I think we should just proceed to discuss the other, Olivera, if he has the strength to talk.” Caitlin shook her head. “That would have been the right thing to do, seeing that it is all in the past, but on our way her

“What are you going to do?” Raul shrugged his shoulders to Nick’s question. It has been two hours since Olivera had left the office to her room, two hours since she had openly rejected the offer of being his Luna. He knew that his comrades blamed him for this outturn, including Nick, but that they weren’t that heartless to jab him too. The only person who hadn’t cared was Jeremy. If anything, he seemed relieved that Olivera had rejected the Luna title. Was he that selfish? Raul thought, looking at the lad, almost regretting giving him the gamma title. He had known of Jeremy’s escapades with two of the slave girls that always fought over him. Olivera wasn’t aware. But Raul was sure that she wouldn’t be too quick to defend her best friend if she knew of this. Maybe he should let her know. He didn’t mind it was petty. The problem was that she wouldn’t believe him. And that was his fault. “There is nothing else to do, if not accept his fate, and perhaps go further with Azeera. I am no

Olivera's finger throbbed with pain as she stared at the small drop of blood on the page. The circle, now darkened with her blood, seemed to pulse with a life of its own. She pushed it away from her lap, and shifted to the other side. Her eyes widened in incredulity as white smoke began to rise from the book, curling and twisting in the air. The scent of lavender and rose filled the room, a soothing contrast to the sharp pain in her finger. She watched in awe and trepidation as the smoke began to form shapes, reacting as if it were alive. What was going on? Her mouth remained shut, unable to say a word. Her whole body remained the same way. The only part staying a little active was her mind which was trying to make sense of the scenario. The smoke solidified, creating a vivid image of a couple standing on a hill. The woman was pregnant, her hand resting protectively over her swollen belly. Her eyes shone with love and determination, and she was donned in a regal attire. Olivera coul

Olivera shuddered as she felt the cord that bonded her and Vee. She looked down at her new guard, and smiled at him giddily. “Did you feel that?” Vee nodded, and stood on his feet. He was way taller than her. Olivera mused, taking stock of this new Vee that was never to disappear from her sight anymore, forever, until she dies. “Do you die?” Vee chuckled, the sound bouncing off the room. “Of course. I am not an eternal creature. As a matter of fact, part of the agreement is that your death means mine.” Olivera scrunched her face. She didn’t want that. “Don’t bother regretting it. The deed has already been done. And besides, it's my duty. So, if you want me hale and hearty, don’t give me much trouble by disappearing on me, or giving me heartache when you disobey commands.” Olivera huffed. Already bossy? She didn’t know guards could be bossy. She had seen the way that Raul was with his subordinates. ‘You can be that way, if you choose.’ Verity opined, but Olivera shook her head.
