Semua Bab Fang Chronicles: Bab 171 - Bab 180

Hiding in the trees, Talya watched Dmitri throw the flowers from the window. Her heart seized. Because of her age, the taciturn vampire was not giving her a chance. She pulled her hand up and looked at where her matching limb should be. She would make him get past her age and her deformity. She was falling in love and Talya had something to prove. She made her way back into the vampire's house, but quickly realized he was no longer there. Removing her clothes, she shifted form and wandered through his home, rubbing her pelt against any personal items she could reach. Maybe her scent, spread everywhere, would make him come around. She shifted, put her clothes back on, and returned to her clan's assigned cabins.Esta approached and after a few seconds began sniffing the air. "You smell like the vampire."She couldn't help her testy response. "So what if I do?"Esta's eyes hardened. "Zenya is too lenient with you. I have no such problem and regardless of your missing arm or age, I wi

It was harsh, but Dmitri knew honesty was the only thing she would listen to. This one small cat could cause untold problems in the middle of a war and it would stop now. And just taking control of this situation allowed the red haze to recede slightly."You want Nikka," she spit out.He could tell she held so much fury in her small body and didn't know how to face her inner demons. Loathing, bone deep - a killing hatred haunted her eyes. The two of them had a lot in common. Dmitri remained silent for a few seconds, loosening his grip slightly on her chin. Her youth and the painful agony she hid gave him more control over himself."What does Nikka have to do with you throwing yourself at me when I have shown no feelings for you?""She told me to stay away from you because you were hers."An instant spark of pleasure raced through Dmitri, his pulse increased, and the red haze all but dissipated. "Did she now?" He couldn't help his husky tone."You do want her." Talya's scream w

She loved his voice, his words, his body - everything that made him her vampire. He slowly rose to his feet, lifting her at the same time and standing her before him."I'm taking you back to your cabin."She frowned."It's hard for me, too, but it's the right thing to do."Nikka violently shook her head, but he stopped her, bringing her chin up so she met his eyes."Yes." His lips brushed over hers, moving to her jaw before rubbing his scruffy chin across her cheek.Pure need dripped from his voice. "Shift or I cannot walk away from you."She stubbornly refused until his powers sparked again. Giving in, she sauntered beside him on four legs, brushing against him every few feet. She wanted her scent to saturate his skin and clothing. It was her way of marking her territory. His smile flashed, he knew what she was doing, but he didn't stop her. "I need your help with Talya."Another growl rumbled from Nikka's throat. She didn't want him talking about the hell cat."I agree. I t

Five hours after the sun's rays dropped behind the highest mountain of the territory, bear and northeast clan members walked to the final resting place of the fallen. It was high in the mountains surrounded by tall trees and thick woods cleared from the middle where the dead came to rest. Six bears carried Rufus's body on a ceremonial wooden pallet and laid him on an elevated pyre. Vorlyk and his clan stood silently by as the bears paid their last respects to their fallen brother. Rufus had spent most of his time at the nightclub, but when he was home, he'd gained the respect of Nicolas's pack by warm greetings and offered friendship. He'd also died protecting Talya and he would forever be a hero in the eyes of the northwest clan. The soft sobs from his mother filled the clearing, her grief as powerful as any mother who loses a child. The Kodiak approached the body and laid his hands on Rufus's human face. Power rippled across the large clearing, casting a glow around The Kodiak and

Dmitri paced the confines of his great room. It was done. He'd made his intentions clear. He didn't shower when he woke up because he could still smell Nikka on his skin. Did she understand what he'd told her? Had he expressed the danger she was in because of his curse? Did she believe him?All these thoughts left him exhausted, but her scent left him horny. As vampire, little was denied him, but love made him hesitate. His greatest fear was that he would harm her and it terrified him. The Kodiak thought she might be his salvation, but how did Dmitri know without placing her in danger? If there was any chance he could harness the red haze, how could he not try? But if he did, he risked everyone's life, including Nikka's."Kodiak, I need you here." Usually he spoke normally when contacting the great bear, but he couldn't stop the tight demand of his words."Grrr."Dmitri waited while continuing to pace. The Kodiak didn't knock, just threw open the door and charged in. Hair dishevele
