Derek As soon as s Gabriel and Dimitri leave, all the shifters regroup and head for the battlefield. We can hear the creatures and Alastor getting closer. This time it’s no surprise, he wants us to know he’s coming; he wants us rattled, however, we are stronger than he thinks. “This ends today! We will protect the silver dragons with all our strength, just as Ryuu intended when he gifted us our animal counterparts. Maliyah  I feel as if I have been stabbed in the heart. I clutch my chest and tears roll down my cheeks. I know in that moment, uncle Gabriel has died. Anger surges through me as I call upon my powers. I may not be able to cause pain to the zombie creatures by boiling their blood but that doesn’t mean I can’t kill the traitors. Screams echo across the field as traitors drop to their knees in pain. Davina   I hear Maliyah through the mind link, but it’s faint as if she is severely weakened. I scan the field in the direction I saw her last and see Alastor throw Maliyah over her shoulder without her fighting back. I shift and give Akira full control to sprint towards her, shifting back into my human form just as I approach Alastor. “I had Dimitri spell this field so no one can teleport in or out. Put my daughter down,” I growl out.  Kat arrives at my side and shifts into her human form.  “You will pay for taking my mate from me,” Kat growls.  I thought the loss of her mate would severely weaken her but she seems stronger and determined than ever before. Davina   The minute Maliyah became unconscious her swirl of power dissipated. I drop the sphere of wind and see the zombie creatures are dropping one by one. I rush to Maliyah’s side in a panic with Kat right at my heals. “Maliyah!” Her head is bleeding badly and she is not responding at all. I quickly teleport her to Dr. Smith.  “What happened,” asks Dr. Smith. “She hit her head on a rock and I am afraid she used more power than she can handle.”  Kat pulls me away from Maliyah to give Dr. Smith room to work and I reluctantly back away.  “Davina!” I look up and see Mark and Derek running into the tent. I can feel he is just as scared as I am right now.  “Thank Ryuu you are okay. What happened to Maliyah?”
