Prologue
1696, St. Austell, Cornwall, EnglandI awoke with an unusual burning sensation enveloping my entire body as I tried to open my arduous eyelids, but the smothering heat engulfed me, drowning me as I started to shake uncontrollably, impelling me to the darkness as I lost consciousness. I was relieved it wasn't very loud, so nobody noticed my strange behavior, yet enough to send my pen flying to the floor. Could you guess where did it fall? It fell beside his right foot! I immediately sat upright and waited for him to pick up my pen and return it to me since it was the polite way to do it, but seconds passed and still, I didn't hear him move a single bit. I held my breath and decided to turn my head and peeked. I almost gasped to find myself staring at those icy-blue specks. They looked so... Dangerous and...
