Chapter Twenty-One
SolumArwald’s RealmPalace•LOTHAIRE• “He certainly asked for a trade?” I tried to confirm as I faced all of the gods. I clenched my fist whilst I tried to make a decision. “Indeed…” Arwald uttered, “Five demi-gods—Tiva, Ameyalli, Kabecka, Brynhild, Inghard, and Trygve—were in his hands.” “Apophis wants the key in exchange to them,” I stated. “What if we deceive him?” Naeitha asked, “We should think of a plan where we can retrieve the five demi-gods without granting him the key to the Void.” “It would not work,” Caliban countered. “Why?” I asked. “If ever you grant him an inaccurate key and he headed straight to the underworld, Lothaire’s realm will be in danger,” Lorcan replied and I clenched my jaw in his statement. “Neither will I risk my queen nor put my denizens in peril,” I said as I agreed with Lorcan. “He desires for it within seven eventides,” Arwald stated, “Otherwise he will slaughter

Chapter Twenty-Two
Underworld RealmLothaire's DemesnePalace•PHAELIN•            Two days have passed and Lothaire had been preparing to face Apophis. I looked at him as he trained with one of the underworld warriors. His movements were calculated. He swiveled his sword swiftly like a runner’s certain feet. When he called for a short period of rest, he headed towards my direction and took the weight of his feet.            “Are you doing alright?” he asked whilst he breathed heavily. He placed down his sword and I reached out for a glass of water to quench his thirst.            “Without a doubt…” I replied as I gave him a smile. I know throughout my entire being that I will long for his presence. However, I have to be valiant.

Chapter Twenty-Three
Underworld RealmLothaire's DemesnePalace •PHAELIN• I opened my eyes as I heard a familiar voice outside our chamber. I burrowed myself on the soft sheets as I still desired to lay down. However, I felt the urge to sat up on my bed. I simply gave a moment for my mind to shed sleep. “Pallaton…” Lothaire barely said, “Help the queen in obtaining the Xiphos from Ephemerium. She will need to bring it to Solum.” I stood up from my bed and headed straight to the door. “Indeed, sire,” Pallaton answered whilst I wandered my eyes and saw that Lothaire was nowhere to be found inside our room. My husband placed his helm on the bedside table and it was there no more. “I would leave now,” he uttered and I abruptly opened the entry of our bedroom. I stepped outside and Lothaire was already wearing his battle gear. Pallaton bowed in front of him and left at an instant. I rushed towards his direction and called, “Lothaire.” He turned around jo

Underworld RealmLothaire’s DemesnePalace•PHAELIN• Fortnight. It has been fourteen days and we have not heard anything from Lothaire. “One hit to the chest!” Braska exclaimed and I threw a blazing ball of azure fire to the warrior. He fell as I aimed my sword. I spent all the days in the training grounds for I know I will need it. The warrior rose upright and a hole in his gear was visible. He stepped aside to take off his cuirass and plackart vambrace. “Let him rest,” I told Braska and she ordered the next combatant to come forward. The warrior rushed towards my direction, and I dodged his sword as I parried. He kicked his left foot to wound me with his sabaton. However, I grabbed his leg, and he stumbled on the ground. Swiftly, he stood and advanced towards me but I intercepted his blade. The sound of our swords as they clang and whistle in mid-air filled the abode. “He is the best warrior, my queen!” Braska yel

Mortal RealmEastern BordersPrairie PHAELIN• Iron. The scent of blood can be smelled throughout the piles of corpses. The wind blew cold and strong. We separated our paths and settled to meet at a certain location. Naeitha, Denali, and Vaughan walked through the temperate grassland with me. The messenger of the gods led the way. Some of the carcasses were eaten by crows. I quite heard a rustling sound and one of the corpses sat quickly. I threw a dagger beside Vaughan as I struck down the enemy. I rushed towards his direction and went close to it. Cautiously, I bent down and opened its eyes. It was an ominous red and I felt adrenaline all of a sudden. The chest of the Apophian radiated cerulean and I swiftly pierced it with the Xiphos. “He was still alive,” I uttered whilst I let out a glare. “Indeed,” Naeitha replied and checked the other bodies. Few of them cried, “Golden blood!” Denali drew his

Mortal RealmCity of LucienDelphine Park •PHAELIN•           It has been the second day of the search. The gods and warriors scattered throughout the land of the living to proceed on looking for Lothaire.          Time flew swiftly in the underworld realm as I waited for the word Awena and Vaughan may bring. Albeit it was necessary, patience was not in my vocabulary at that point in time. The heavy silence of the throne room gradually awakened my vulnerability and the thought of him caused disturbances to my mind and inner being.          As I headed to the Delphine Park, the wind blew cold and passed by the side of my cheek. I went on one of the crepe myrtles and changed my clothing as fast as I could. When I came out, few mortals ambled

Underworld RealmLothaire’s DemesnePalace   •PHAELIN•             The messages filled my thoughts as I sat at the throne room. I reckon they certainly convey a thing. All of them are connected to one another. However, I failed to identify the individual who wrote the book. Whoever made the compositions might have an idea about the felted sheets on the last pages.           “Azael…” I called the servant, and he came forth.           “Your majesty,” he greeted and bowed upon arriving in front of me.           “Where is Naeitha and Denali?” I questioned for I believe they can help me seek for answers.           “They left early at dawn, my ladyship,” he answered. The Solumian warriors have returned from the search. He spoke, “The land of the living was never peaceful barely.”          I sat at my throne in the Council Room as I keenly listened. Lothaire was not present for he was recovering from the encounter. I left my husband in our chamber early at daybreak. I replied, “It was quite eccentric that the vagabonds disappeared.”          “Indeed,” Caliban said, “Their ships in the Myrtoan Sea dropped out of sight as well. My

Underworld RealmLothaire’s Demesne Palace•LOTHAIRE• I summoned the Weavers of Destiny for there were plenty of questions in my mind. I sat at the throne room as I waited. A mass of smoke entered the abode and gradually spun as they arrived. All of them greeted and bowed. “Lothaire…” Acrasia started as she came forth, “Why did you call for us?” “I apologize for the disturbance I caused to all of you,” I stated as I leaned on the back of my throne, “I simply want clarity on the existing occurrences, and I reckon you can grant answers to the thoughts in my mind.” Ischales let out a smirk as she spoke, “I was not mistaken.” “You were not mistaken?” I tried to confirm. “We know your questions beforehand,” Britomaris replied, “It is about your consort—the queen of the underworld.” “Indeed,” I answered. Acrasia let out a grin as she uttered, “We are fully aware this period will come. The succeeding questions w

Underworld RealmLothaire’s DemesnePalace •LOTHAIRE•           I went outside my lair and looked at the groundwork of the palace as the servants were placing the crystal sculptures for the Winterfest. Few of them rolled the white moquette.          My thoughts remained static inside my mind for I was still thinking about what the Weavers of Destiny stated. They told me I should be the one to solve my own labyrinth when I do not even know what maze they were denoting. I could not grasp the meaning of their words when they said not being answered was part of my fate as well.          Azael came towards my direction, and he greeted, “You called for me, sire.”          I told him to rise wh
