At the close of school, Emily and Amanda made their way to Leslie's locker. They needed to pack her things since they didn't know the time she'd be coming back. They had already gotten the permission from the principal before doing this lest they'd be in trouble for raiding another student's locker. When they were done, they left the school grounds which were already desolate and lonely. The only students who seemed to be within school were those taking extra lessons or those who served punishments for one crime or the other. "Em, could you please take Leslie's bag to her. I just remembered, I won't be going home directly. I need to pick up something from the mart first." Amanda said "Sure, don't be long. I'll be at Leslie's." Emily said."Okay, see you later".Amanda made her way out of the school, hailing a cab that was passing by. The cab was occupied as it simply drove away. Amanda decided to ditch getting a ride and simply walked the short distance to the Mart. A few meters awa

During lunch time, the whole school was agog over Parker's arrest. Newspaper clippings perpetrated by some of the school's miscreants filled the hallway, the locker rooms and even the bathrooms. The clippings had Parker's picture on it, calling him all sort of names. For a moment, Amanda felt bad for him. Nobody deserved this but if he was found guilty, he deserved everything he got."If you ask my human side, I feel bad for Parker." Emily said."And your inhumane side says what?" Amanda chuckled."Well, not so much pity there." she said."It's just so weird. Someone who just came to the school and now, he's being suspected for murder. I wonder how his parents would feel especially his mum." Amanda said."Away from that. Leslie called yesterday, she'll be resuming school the following week. At least, it's over a month since her mother's death. She said she's ready to resume." Emily sighed."Okay. We'll just be here to give her all the support she needs." Amanda said."Yeah"."That rem

The next morning, the school was restless. As Amanda walked through the halls, she had no idea why this was so. She made her way to the locker room, depositing her bag and books before making her way to her first class. On her way, she met Emily who was to attend another class. "What's happening?" Amanda asked."You haven't heard. Parker's been released, he's at the principal's office. Apparently, the gist is that the real murderer was caught yesterday while trying to escape the city. Parker's off the hook." Emily said."That's good. At least, we're not going to school with a murderer." Amanda said."Honestly. I have to run now babe, I'm running late. See you and oh, Leslie's coming back tomorrow.""Yeah, she called me yesterday. See ya." Amanda said.On getting to class, Parker was already seated in his usual seat at the back of the class. Ian and his friends crowded round him, no doubt trying to scoop for gist. Amanda settled in her chair and soon, a shadow fell over her. Looking

"Hurry up Em." Amanda said for the third time that evening. They were going to be late to the concert just because Emily couldn't decide on what to wear even though she bought three different gowns. They were going to the annual concert which was holding this weekend and Ariana couldn't afford to miss it. She had told Leslie and Emily about Parker's odd behaviour two days ago. Even up until now, she still wondered what came over that day. It just seemed like he was in another body."But you just got new clothes, there are even more in your wardrobe." Amanda said"But the colors look as if they're off." She sighed, walking into the room where Emily was having a hard time deciding on what to wear. Amanda picked up one of the gowns, handing it over to her."Here, wear this. It's much better. "she said, handing the dress over to her. "You're sure?" Emily beamed.Amanda laughed, rolling her eyes. She knew Emily could be dramatic but this was just overboard."Now hurry up or we won't get s

"Guys, you wouldn't believe what happened." Amanda said. They were on a lunch break, it was the same day Parker made his stupid proposal. Amanda toyed with her lunch, thinking about what he said."Give the gist girl, what's up." Emily said.Amanda related all that had happened to them. Thinking about it now, she couldn't understand why Parker would propose an idea in that manner. Did he really think she was cheap and easy to sway?"To be honest, this guy has got some boldness." Emily said, stabbing her chicken."I agree. But Am, are you going to be his date for prom?" Leslie asked."To be honest girls, i don't really know." Amanda said."You can't be considering it. Remember what we talked about on our way from the concert, don't let this guy take your mind. He's not good for you."Emily said."She's right. I totally agree with her on this one. Parker is a no no and the earlier you run away from him, the better for you darling." Leslie said.Amanda knew they were right but everytime sh
