“Kisses” Daniel’s voice wakes me up immediately. “Yeah?” I yawn, rubbing my eyes. “Are you okay?” He asks, throwing a t-shirt over his head. “Yeah, why wouldn’t I be?” mumble, ransacking my closet. “Last night. You were pretty shaken up” He scratches his neck, nervously. “Dan, can we talk about this another day? Please” I throw my closet door shut, not seeing anything to wear. “Yeah, okay. I’m sorry” He hugs me, grabbing some clothes from my closet. I slip the white crop top, grey shorts and cardigan on. I pull some slip on vans on, keep my hair natural and do some quick makeup, putting some chopstick and lipstick on. “Do I look okay?” I dab concealer under my eyes. “You look gorgeous Kiss. Just really tired” He frowns. “I know, I have not been sleeping” I sigh, grabbing my bag. “Want to sleep over tonight?” He asks. “Okay, that works. I have a double shift after school but I’ll stop home after work and pack a bag for your house” I nod, kissing his cheek. I feed Porsha whi

~Skip a month~ “Class of 2019, We made it. For 12 years we have been wandering the school halls with each other. At the time it crawled but standing here in front of you all, I can’t help but think it went so fast. In a couple years we are going to be wishing we could go back, even for a day. We are going to want to relive these moments. Its now time to move onto bigger and better things. As we say our goodbyes, we can’t ignore the fact the memories will forever be burned into our minds. I’m honored to be up here today. On behalf of the class of 2019, I want to thank all the teachers, parents, guardians and all the other supporters. Your love and guidance meant more than you know. ‘Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts ’Winston Churchill. This quote has given me the motivation to be standing here, in the flesh today. No matter what challenges I was put through, I thought about what could be. You can do anything you put your mind to. I woke up early today and decided to go to the barn after leaving Daniel a note. It’s been a while since I rode so I’ll get on for a little. “Hey bud” I smile, petting JD. He nudges me with his nose, happy to see me. “Come on, lets go” I put the halter on him and bring him to the cross ties. I quickly brush him and tack him up, not wanting to be here forever. Maybe I’ll take Daniel someone later, on a date. “Okay, come on Jay” I pet his neck, mounting him. “Lets make it a good one” I smile as we walk around the ring twice, then change direction for a warm up. After a half hour of riding I put JD back and walk back to Daniel. “Kiss?” He calls out. “Yeah Dan, I’m back. Go back to sleep” I kiss his forehead. “Lay with me?” He hugs my waist. “I was at the barn. I’m all sweaty and I smell like horse” I laugh. “I don’t care” He mumbles, snuggling into me. Give in and just let him fall back asleep before I swiftly slip out of his arms and take a shower. After the shower I wrap

I wake up to an empty bed. Where’s Daniel? I slowly get up, wrapping a robe around my body. I brush my teeth and complete my usual morning routine. ‘Hey Babe, sorry about the early leave. I had to run out quickly but I’ll be home soon. I love you -Mason’ I smile at the note, slipping some socks on and making my way downstairs to feed Porsha. She runs down the stairs, right after me and jumps at my feet, seeing the bowl. The house is eerily quiet, not a sound besides Porsha eating. Its very rare the house is completely empty at 9:00 in the morning. I shrug, preparing myself a large cup of coffee and sitting down on the couch, grabbing my book. “Kisses?” I hear the door open. “In the family room” I call, taking a sip of my coffee. A couple minutes later he comes in, kissing the top of my head. He sits next to me, picking me up and placing me on his lap. “What are you reading?” Daniel mumbles into my hair. “That book I started. One of Us Lying” I show him the cover. “How

~Daniels P.O.V~ I woke up, made Kisses some breakfast and drove her to work, telling her, I’ll call later. I speed off to Brooks house, finding his driveway empty, regarding his car. A nauseous feeling courses through my body. There’s always a car in the driveway, if not more. I jump out of the car, knocking on the door. Brooks opens the door, his eyes bloodshot and droopy, his hair is sticking in many directions and his clothes are wrinkled and stained. “Dude, what’s going on?” I stutter, taking in his appearance. “Man, I’m a mess” He ushers me in, closing the door behind me. “What happened? Does Kylie know?” I sit on the couch. “Yeah, yeah. She knows. I’m having some family stuff” He rubs his eyes, almost hoping that will give him some energy. “Like what?” I question, not wanting to pry. “My moms not doing well. She’s been admitted to the hospital. The doctors think her cancer is back” He says. My heart drops. Ms. Price, my second mother is sick again. “What?” I gasp. “
