CHPTER EIGHTY-ONE
Diane's POV(…reunion)“Father?” Diane asked weakly, as she turned to look at Williams by her side. She wailed heartily as the three embraced. “How did it happen?” Williams asked as they broke apart. The sight of her family made her ache. “I don’t think it’s the best time to have an inquiry session. She isn’t strong enough for that. The best we can do for her-” The doctor backed away when her father shot him a dreadful gaze.“He tortured me so much,” Diane stuttered as she leaned back on the pillow heap behind her. The doctor took a bow and left, thereafter.“Is it Pablo?” Alex asked. “No. He’s my half-brother. Xavier…”Alex turned to his beta, who seemed horrorstruck at the new development. They all listened to her recount, from the night of her capture till her arrival at the borders. They all gasped at intervals at the kind of torture she endured. Retelling the story made her relive the memories again. She knew it would take years to get over the trauma, if she ever did. “I just kn

CHAPTER EIGHTY-TWO
Diane’s POV(…revenge at last)One cool afternoon, Williams came in with a gleeful countenance, while she was packaging the new portrait of Melissa she drew—in hopes that her wish of being hung on the hall of fame would be fulfilled whenever she eventually passes on. Her bowels had begun to inflate as she was placed solely on liquid meal and chemotherapy, to extend her life span. “I’ve missed your presence.”“I miss myself too. This body is a lot of work. Waking up daily to this reality is tiring. You hardly visit in the afternoon. What brings you here wearing such a smile? You have a potion for me?” Diane asked.“Not so. Although, I wish I had. None of my attempts brought positive results. I’ve also tried using my blood, but the mixtures will be harmful to your cells. It has been a major challenge making the one for only the cancer cells. I came to check on my beloved twin, along with good tidings”“Don’t make me wait too long for it. I’m no friends with suspense” she announced eager

CHAPTER EIGHTY-THREE
Alex’s POV(…the last call)A stable region and an assurance of a reliable heir with a mate, were enough reasons for him to be happy that morning. They experienced peace from their enemy in the pack and his daughter was still alive. He was grateful for this sudden period of his life. Nothing could be more satisfying than seeing all one has worked for in good hands, at old age. So was the case of Alex. He was still basking in the mood of celebration, preparing to visit his daughter, when Mike rushed up to him. The persistence in his knock wasn’t a good omen as he permitted his entry. “The hospital reported that Diane was missing again. No one claims to know when she left, including her guard. I’m afraid she might have gone at will, because I met a few paper mess and a change of robe”Alex heart pounded as he spoke. “Are you suggesting she ran away on her accord? The borders are still inaccessible to our enemy. How long as she been missing?” Alex asked, choosing to stay calm. After all

CHAPTER EIGHTY-FOUR
Larry’s POV(… a chaotic beginning)The loss of two iconic werewolves in one day, was a tragic news for even the neighboring pack that depended on the Grey moon pack for protection. Everyone had believed the pack’s beta died, but no one wondered why his father’s attacker chose to spare him. “I need you to come over with all your things. You stay with me from now,” the new Alpha, who was also his childhood friend mindlinked him. He would have refused the order if not that he was the Alpha and the pack was in a panic state. He thought of how it would be possible for him to live with seeing the woman he loved in the hands of another. Not just any other person—which would have made it a little less unnerving, but it was his very own friend. He had nursed the betrayal since he heard she’d been marked. He regretted ever delaying on confessing his feelings. He also regretted not being the Alpha. He would have snatched her forcefully from him. But all these were impossible. He packed up his r

CHAPTER EIGHTY-FIVE
Larry’s POV(…the insider)He was surprised to find a woman instead of the man who had killed his father. “What about the Alpha?” he asked. Her lips were lopsided, as she searched his features with her lustful eyes. “Who are you?” he asked again. “Don’t tell me you got brains without looks. Isn’t it obvious I work for the Alpha? He is sick of parading this area without positive news about his next attack. I hope you’re trustworthy enough or else, be ready to end up like the rest of your kind. I’m Lola. A big hug for the macho man.” She wrapped her arms around him. Larry, who was uncomfortable and clueless about why she was sent instead of Xavier, repelled the embrace.“Fine then. Back to business. The Alpha says you have a message for him. What is it?”“I’ve no message,” Larry replied out of fear, and immediately, his cell phone rang. Another unknown caller. He stared at her for a while before answering the call. “Don’t play games with me, Larry. What am I expected to know? Look aroun

CHAPTER EIGHTY-SIX
Larry’s POV(…the sick Luna)Baby Meagan was placed in a child safety seat as Claire was made to sit in the front. Weakened from the dose of potion administered to her, a dark shade was used to conceal her weary eyes. Larry strapped her seat belt and positioned her head in a comfortable position that seemed as though she were conscious, while the other guards stocked the vehicle with loads of boxes and some of his things. “She has a mansion in her name. It’s a perfect hideout,” the Alpha remarked as the convoy was set to leave. It was a peaceful ride as opposed to how Larry had imagined. Larry drove past the warp hole and was left alone for the rest of the journey. It was his first time out of the pack. He had a shallow idea of how humans ran their lives. The map was easy to navigate until a cop car began to chase after him. At first, he thought it was another attack from Xavier as he increased his speed to outrun them but later found more cop cars were trooping behind him. One of the

Xavier’s POV(…the second Alpha)Another tenure was here. He was ready to give his all to acquire the position. The failed attempts only made him more brutal on The Grey-moon pack, as he added more members to his pack. His pack had gotten larger than he’d expected even without a breeder as he planned. He had killed the beta of the Grey moon pack to weaken the Alpha and also succeeded in winning the beta’s son as a weak link.Since he heard of the death of Diane, which stopped him from visiting the pack at the time, Xavier had sought earnestly for a second mate until he found Irene, who was part of the newly absorbed members, during the reign of Alexander Duke. “There aren’t enough resources to cater to the increasing crowds, Alpha,” Derrick remarked, as Xavier returned from seeing Larry.“It’s for a while. We have an access to the pack, Larry.”“How can we trust him, alpha?”“It was all part of the plan. I’ve known him since my university days. He has always been a coward. It’s easier

CHAPTER EIGHTY-EIGHT
CHAPTER 88Meagan’s POV(…a nightly cry)A loud door slam followed a blaring cry. Megan sprang up from bed with her eyes gleaming in the dark. It was a familiar cry but the one she heard that night sounded too uncanny to be ignored. She uncovered the sheets from her legs and slid out of bed. Careful not to make any sound or stumble, she took a step at a time with her two hands hanging forward in search of her glasses a few meters from her bed. After groping on the adjacent wooden surface, she traced a rectangular case with a leathery texture, snapped it open, and took out her glasses, taking a comfortable position on her pointed nose. The door gave a slow creak as she pulled the cold doorknob backward. She made her way out of the room through the dimly lit corridor towards the source of the cry that took Mother Nature’s call from her bulgy eyes. Another loud outburst exuded from behind the door that stood in her way. She swung into tremendous palpitation, staring blankly at the entra

CHAPTER EIGHTY-NINE
Meagan's POV(…a fight with little Missy) It was a gay morning. The brightness of the sun gave no clue of the weather last night. Chirping birds and crickets, were the usual sounds Meagan was accustomed to on days where her alarm clock failed to yank her out of bed early, since her mum had taken a compulsory break from anything aside just breathing. Having mastered an emergency routine for special late days, she hurried herself to the bathroom and in no time was thumping down the carpeted stairs in her uniform, heading straight to the kitchen where she found Larry already serving breakfast. “Good morning, angel” he remarked as Meagan stepped into the kitchen, “Morning Dad,” she replied in a vibrant voice. “I didn’t want to disturb your sleep. Oh!… and your door wouldn’t even let me in. I suppose you locked them in your dreams last night”, Larry teased with a short glance at her. Meagan made a subtle chuckle in response to Larry as he gave a smirk. She stuffed in the brown toast Lar
