Chapter 21
“What are you talking about?” Xavier\'s eyes widened in shock. He grabbed my shoulder, and asked, “Where are you going to take my child? Are you going to be with your other man? Yasmin, I’m warning you, don’t you dare.” “What do you want me to do then? Be with you instead?” I raised my head and grinned. I smiled widely and sneered, “Xavier, we are already divorced. Why does it matter who I date?” Xavier frowned as he wiped the sweat from his forehead, “You are the mother of my child. Of course it’s my business!” “Oh, so now you recognize me as the mother? Didn’t you take my baby away from me so that a gentle and kind woman like Rachelle could take care of him?” I asked sarcastically. I laughed hysterically and kept attacking him desperately, “You accused me of carrying another man’s child, that I killed Rachelle’s child. You blamed me for ruining your wedding, you forced me to have children, and threatened me with my parents and g

Chapter 22
In the afternoon, Timothy visited my ward. Holding a big bouquet of lilies in his hands, he smiled brightly and said, “I have resumed the partnership with Mr. Jin on my project.” “Congratulations!” I said, nodding. He put the flowers in the vase and said, “It\'s just that, Mr. Jin has a request. If I want his partnership, I have to agree to a long-term implementation which could last for two years or as little as half a year.” Oh, it\'s really Xavier\'s style. If the project couldn’t be terminated, he would make sure to prolong it instead. Timothy frowned and his handsome face was filled with uncertainty. He clasped his hands and pondered for a moment. He raised his head again to stare at me, “The scenery in Europe is also beautiful. Would you like to go with me?” I was stunned. I didn\'t quite understand what he meant, but he looked at me intently, and said deeply, “The only person you knew when you woke up from

Maybe my tone was too decisive that Xavier finally decided to leave me alone. And because of my refusal, my parents quarreled with me again, so I left my parents’ house and went to my grandmother’s instead. Grandma was very happy to see me. Although there was a hint of worry between her furrowed eyebrows, she didn’t say anything so I deliberately ignored her evident concern. During this time, my grandmother and I started a life of mutual dependence. After a short period of self-cultivation, I joined as a designer for a small company. I didn\'t make too much money, but it was my own money and I felt very confident. Xavier never harassed me anymore. I gradually got used to the quiet and peaceful days of going to and getting off work, eating and sleeping. Two months passed in a flash. Today, I accompanied my boss to the bidding meeting. After I got out of the car, I realized that it was actually one of Jin’s projects.

Xavier caught me as my emotions wavered. He declined the call. He stubbornly remained standing against the door and refused to let me go, “Yasmin, I’m not forcing you, it’s just that, we are the child’s parents. There is no need for us to be like enemies.” “Have you forgotten everything you’ve done to me?” I sneered. “Xavier, maybe you’ve forgotten, but I can’t. I’d remember it for the rest of my life. In order to stay away from you, I would rather abandon my own flesh and blood. I’d rather die than shake your hand and say hello like everything’s okay, do you understand?” “We still have a son, and we can start over again,” he said, his eyes pooling with pain. “Do you swear you have no feelings for me at all?” “Of course I do, I hate you. Hate is a feeling too, isn’t it?” I asked with a hint of sarcasm. I clearly saw the hope in Xavier’s eyes fade a little as tears started forming in his eyes. I sneered, “Now that we’ve reached an

I was so angry that my eyes almost popped out, “You threatened me with grandma again, you are so cheap!” “If you’ll allow it, as long as you let me see you every day and make me feel better, then there’s no need to threaten you,” Xavier said in a serious tone. I stared at him fiercely, but in the end, I couldn\'t do anything. That afternoon, I was preoccupied with work when the office door suddenly opened. “Since everyone is working so hard, here’s some afternoon tea,” he said in a cheery tone that made me shudder. I lowered my head and pretended not to hear him. Xavier divided the afternoon tea among my colleagues and he sat down beside me with the last one. I was about to stand up and leave, but his long legs stretched out and hooked my legs to stop me. He spoke with a smile plastered on his face, “Miss Ye, you seem to have an opinion of me.” I furrowed my eyebrows and whispered to him, “Stop it with your littl

This time, Xavier seemed to have really given up. He was out on a long-term business, and I ended the project and returned to my company. In a blink of an eye, winter has ended and spring has come. I was single and was also favored by single men. A colleague in the company began to pursue me enthusiastically. His name was Charlie Lin, he’s the manager of the marketing department with a mediocre background, good ability, and good money. I knew that I had an unbearable past and was not worthy of any good man. Not to mention that I never planned on finding a new man at all, so I refused. But Charlie insisted, and stubbornly said, “Yasmin, can you have a meal with me? I have liked you for so long. Please, go out with me.” I couldn\'t refuse his determined mentality and his kindness, so I agreed. “Yasmin, I really like you. I think you’re a very good person since you first came to the company. I wanted to know you more with th

Chapter 27
I was lying in Xavier\'s arms in a daze, my mind was completely blank that I couldn\'t argue with him anymore. Soon, we arrived at my grandmother\'s house. When I got off the car, he insisted on accompanying me and I was too lazy to refuse. “Grandma, I’m dropping Yas off,” he greeted enthusiastically, speaking my nickname gently. Upon seeing Xavier, my grandmother was stunned. She was hesitant to speak so she ended up not saying anything. Xavier helped me upstairs, put me in bed, wiped my face with warm water, and when he left, he carefully tucked the quilt for me. I just stared at the ceiling stupidly and fell asleep without knowing it. The next day during breakfast, my grandma kept glancing at me quietly, until she couldn’t help herself anymore, and said, “Yas, dear, there’s something I haven’t told you about. Half a year ago, I suddenly got sick one night and I couldn\'t get through your mother\'s phone. It was Xavier

The first ray of sunlight in the morning came in through the slits of the curtains and it spread on my face. Only then did I realize that I’ve fallen asleep. I looked up at Xavier, his face was pale and his brows were furrowed in his sleep. I touched his forehead to check his temperature and I was relieved that his fever had subsided a bit. I fed him another pill. I expected he would be hungry when he wakes up, so I made him some porridge. When I was done, I called his assistant again, and instructed, “Don\'t tell Xavier that I was here. Even if he asks, tell him you took care of him last night, okay?” The assistant protested but I hung up the phone blankly. The moment I walked out of the bedroom, I seemed to have heard his murmured sighs. My footsteps faltered slightly, but I didn\'t look back. It had just stopped raining when I stepped out. The cool wind of early autumn blew and my shoulders shuddered at the cold.

I broke away from Xavier’s grasp. I sat down, stared coldly at the man beside me, and said in a low voice, “Xavier, I don’t know why you are always so determined, but I think you should remember that I clearly told you I don’t love you anymore. We are over.” “It\'s over,” Xavier confirmed, his slender fingers lifting up my chin, forcing me to look at him, “but what I want is not reunification, but a do-over.” “You are sick!” I sprang up, but I was grabbed by my arm. My brows furrowed in anger, and said, “I don\'t like you. You destroy me and others time and time again. Do you find this interesting?” “It is interesting. The process of pursuing you is, of course,” Xavier said as his grasp on my wrist tightened. Staring at me coldly, he said, “What’s more, it’s not that I wanted to destroy you and others. It’s just that, your so-called men were easily scared, they can\'t even stand up for you. Can you really blame me for looking out

When I came home with my personal belongings, my grandmother was startled to see me and asked tentatively, “Yas, this is…” I rubbed my swollen eyes and started crying. “Grandma, I\'m useless. The boss doesn\'t like me. I have to look for a new job.” “My poor little thing, why are you crying? I thought…” Grandma hesitated and paused to look at me. “Silly child, don\'t cry. Grandma is rich, even if she doesn\'t work, she can support you.” I took a breath, went to grandma and hugged her dependently. I dared not let grandma know what really happened to me. At present, she’s the only one who cared for me. I had a few days\' rest at home. When I have calmed down and moved on, I began to look for a new job. I didn\'t dare to do design for fear of bumping into Xavier again. Basically, I was looking for jobs that didn\'t require publicity, such as clerks and customer service. But what I didn\'t expect was that even after going to all the companies
