Chapter 232
A gentle knock on the door prompts Alpha to stand. “Come in.” He calls, causing me to wince. “I’m sorry.” His voice is much quieter as the door opens. “Thank you for sharing. I understand how concerned you are about Jessa and we will start doing some research to figure out how to make you stronger.” He finishes while looking at her, reassuring her that she has help. “The storm is letting up. It’s time to start over to general. Allen is waiting for us.” Luna walks in with Madilyn and Madisyn. “Can you handle Madilyn riding with you?” I shift my legs apart to make room for her, groaning as I realized what I just did. I lay back harder than I intend, sending searing pain through my head. I can’t hold back the yelp or the sudden panic it causes. I lift my hands to my head only to be harshly reminded of the break in my arm. I’m making one mistake after another and even the residual effects of the ketamine isn’t slowing it down. I feel hands on me but I’m helpless to identify

Chapter 233
Wednesday, June 20th(Jamison’s POV)It’s been three and a half weeks since the majority of the prospects that were left in the run got into a brawl over a female in heat. Due to three dozen prospects getting involved in the brawl after the young female was raped multiple times alpha ended up calling the council for some help. They arrived on the first and stayed in the guest rooms for two weeks. They just left this past Friday. I was shocked to learn that Alpha Black moved Cole in with Dr. Pierce. Even though she never found her mate or had children, she lives in a three bedroom house. I found out later that Jessa often spends evenings with Dr. Pierce so neither of them are dining alone for dinner. While alpha never admitted his motive, I believe this was the best thing he could have done for Cole considering what happens after the council leaves our home pack. Alpha had several meetings with all of the prospects that were here. The first one was the day after it happened. He expl

Chapter 234
Over the last three or so weeks I have made myself familiar enough with the place that navigating isn’t a problem. It’s as I turn down the wing that holds alpha’s office, plus numerous rooms I have never asked about, that I suddenly find myself turning tail, running out of the hall back into the common room. My phone rings for another incoming message and I know I’m in for something bad. I have never had this strong of a reaction to the other alphas that I met on my other two runs but then again I interacted mostly with their beta and delta. Only the ones causing problems got called to the alpha’s office, similar to the principal's office while in school. “Are you okay, Jamie?”Dr. Pierce’s voice alerts me to her presence before I lift my head to see her. “Yes ma’am. I’m just heading to a meeting with Alpha Black.” I try to sound confident in my statement but know that I have failed miserably. She nods her head without moving from her position in front of the stairs. I take anoth

“Give into the submission. Everything is okay. Nothing more is going to happen to you. You are right, Jamie. Absolutely correct with everything you said. I am not Alpha Redmen. I would never punish you like that. You were the only pack member left that Cole could reach out to for help and the girls were too far away to link with me. Even if he had a phone it would have been destroyed by his time in the water just like all the trainer’s phones, including my own got lost in the field while we were trying to break up the brawl. I made the mistake of not giving out my office number as I’m rarely there unless I know of a call coming in. While running to the pack house to inform me of where they were at would have allowed us to get to them sooner, I didn’t even think of grabbing the mule to speed things up, Damian did. How can I fault you for running after them when I did the same thing?” My head is on his shoulder with my eyes closed as he finishes his statement. My breathing is still har

(Demetri’s POV) “I guess the best place to start is approximately where I stopped, Cole was a week or so from turning twenty-one and I was a month from turning nineteen.” Jamison starts slowly. “You said that you were twenty-one when you got here in January. When is your birthday?” I interrupt, confused by the time difference between them. “Sorry alpha, I tend to move my age up once I hit the new year. I turned twenty-one on March 1st.” I nod as I apologize for interrupting. “I imagine it would be confusing since I said he was eighteen and I was fifteen when he moved in. I’m not certain why I didn’t say sixteen as my birthday was only two weeks away when dad finally won and he was allowed to leave the pack house.” He stops to take a drink of water in front of the same window Cole looked out of when he was talking to me months ago. “So I guess the last time he came to us after he left was just before he turned twenty-one. Even though the prospect program allows wolves as youn

He sighs heavily as he pauses for a drink. “I locked the door behind me not even thinking about alpha having a master key to every room in the pack house and outlying buildings. It was a gruesome sight to see. As I forced myself to walk through the small training room all I could see was my friend’s lifeless body lying in the middle of the floor. He was nude and bleeding badly from all the cuts left by the belt buckle. His body was facing away from me but I could still make out the growing puddle that surrounded his head. It looked like a scene from a horror movie, only it’s his reality. I circled his body so I could see his face and as I expected he was unconscious, bleeding bad from his nose and mouth. I reached out to him, touched his hair as I called his name. It took several minutes but I did get him to yelp himself awake. It made me nervous that the noise would cause alpha to come back but it wasn’t the same as the fear I have now in helping him.” “What changed to make you af

He nods his head as he open mouth breathes. “I’m sorry alpha. I didn’t expect this to be so hard.” There’s a whine behind his shaking voice as he continues to pace. “It’s the difficulties you have telling your story that shows the true terror you’ve suffered at his hands.” I stand and make my way over to the mini fridge again, removing a bottle of water from inside. I wait patiently for his pacing to calm, holding the bottle out towards him when he stops.“Would you be interested in the same comfort that I offered Cole? While it doesn’t seem that your ptsd is as severe it would still be helpful for you if I provide a grounding point.” “A ground, sir?” He states confused. “Cole hadn’t heard of it either but it’s a way of staying connected to the present instead of getting lost in the past. I would like to hold you.” I chuckle slightly when I see his bemused expression. “It’s not as babyfied as you think. Even adults need to be held when things get tough.” “No, I think I’ll man

(Content Warning)(Jamison’s POV)“They just left you hanging there?” I nod my head as I stand and start pacing again. I know that I appear calm on the outside but I’m really starting to struggle on the inside. “The one warrior that chained me actually apologized quietly to me. Said he hoped alpha showed me mercy compared to what he gave his own son. The one that had punched me so he could get his hands on me held me so the other could chain me. He made a comment about Cole being a ped and deserving of what he’s getting. I held my tongue even though I wanted to say something. I don’t know how long it took but alpha made his presence known when he got there. He started into a calm rant about how I keep helping his son. I made the mistake of trying to argue with him the way I just argued with you. He made the remark that if I felt that strongly that I was right and he was wrong then that changes what he was planning to do. The change in his voice was evil. It sent shivers down my spin

He lifts his head from my hand as I maneuver myself from on top to beside him. He opens his eyes, slowly looking around. While he may be lucid after several minutes of being psychotic the effects of it are still there. While I’m hoping I can avoid sedating the young man so far his body language is screaming how much he still needs it. He pushes himself up off the floor but being in the middle of my office spooks him again. “No! Get out of my head!” He screams as he tries to duck into a ball.“No, Jamie. Don’t curl up son, don’t fight me.” My tone is firm but neutral as I attempt to pull him into me. He fights me briefly before giving into what I know he needs. Suddenly he is completely wrapped around me as if he forgot that he is a twenty-one year old man. We are now sitting chest to chest, his legs wrapped around my waist and his arms around my chest clinging to the fabric of my shirt. I recover quickly from his unexpected response wrapping my own arms around him as he silently sob

(Content Warning)(Jamison’s POV)“Cole. Cole.” I tap my friend’s cheeks trying to get him to wake up. Alpha Redmen has started getting very creative with the locations he takes Cole and there’s no way to get him back to his room without him being awake. “Cole!” I try again and finally get a groan in response. “You’re going to be the life of me.” I speak with a nervous chuckle in my voice. “I told you to leave me.” He speaks with a heavy wheeze. I lay down facing his battered body as I run my fingers through his hair. “You know I won’t leave until you do.” He sighs hard in response.“Where am I supposed to go?” He whispers after a long pause.“Anywhere would be better than here. I know my parents would follow. We could make our own pack. You’d be a lot better than Alpha Redmen.” “I may be his son but I have no money, no land, and going rogue would put everyone that comes with me in danger.” I wake suddenly from the dream. I’m groggy and can tell that I’m not going to be able
