Chapter 11
Adam POV I could not believe what I was hearing. Like this made some kind of sense to Alpha Gordon. I could feel the tension and heartbreak that Jenna was feeling. I had wrapped my arms around her, feeling her coldness in the dank dungeons. I tried to move her, but she was standing firm. She was not finished with her father. “What do you get in return for turning me and Josie over?” Jenna asks her father. He looks at her confused. “Jenna, you are safe for now. They have Josie,” he says like he has saved her. “That’s just it, I am safe for now, what happens when they need me? Are you going to kidnap me yourself?” she asks her father. “Jenna, you always were so dramatic,” her father hisses. “What is the harm in healing the men and women to help them?” he asks her. We all look at him incredulously. “You want me to heal an army of rogues who want to destroy Packs?” she asks him slowly. It is like he does not see the harm of what he is sa

Chapter 12
Jenna POV It had been a couple days since we had incarcerated my father. My mother had arrived with more flair than I had ever noticed before. When she first saw me, she walked over to me standing beside Adam and Jack. I had expected a hug. What I got was a slap in the face. The parking area echoed with the slap against my face. Adam quickly grabbed my mother’s arm breaking it. “How dare you touch my mate?” he yells at her. “Oh please, you did not want her in the beginning and now you expect me to believe you have changed. It is because she is a healer and the strength she brings to your Pack!” she shrieks. I cringe back hating being reminded of our start. And now I have to wonder if my parents ever really cared for me, or did they only like what I brought to the table? “Why did you bother keeping me a secret?” I ask her as she stands there nursing her broken arm. “What?” she asks me confused with my question. “Why didn’t you tell others I had he

Chapter 13
Adam POV Since Jenna’s mother’s revelation that the rogues were coming for us, I have rallied our troops to get them ready for an impending attack. I have tried to reach Sam with no luck. It is unusual that I would not be able to reach him, but I had to assume he was having a good time. He was due back by the end of this week. I would worry if he did not show up then. Jenna’s mother disclosed nothing more than the statements, “I expect they will be here any time now.”. That had been a couple of days ago. Jenna had a lot of time for painstaking self-reflection during this time. Well reflection on her entire life. How parents could treat their daughter as they had was still beyond reproach to me. Jenna was also suffering thinking of Josie. Not lost on us was the fact that Eric tried to become her mate. That reflects how little everyone knew of the deceit of Jenna’s parents and the Rogue King himself. Had they known the truth, they may have avoided a

Chapter 14
Adam POV Jenna’s father was brought back into the courtroom. Her mother, Luna Ashley, was also brought in for her husband’s sentencing. She sits directly behind Alpha Gordon, with warriors on either side of her. Everyone was required to stand as the judges returned to their seats. They looked solemnly at those of us present. “There is no winning side in today’s proceedings,” the judge starts to say. “There is only room for justice. The atrocities committed by Alpha Gordon Frasier in the case of trying to kidnap his own daughter, in return assisting with the kidnapping of someone else, plus supporting the development of a rogue army leave us little wiggle room for sentencing anything less than life in prison,” the judge concludes his spiel. Jenna’s mother screams and the warriors must grab her to keep her from lunging toward the judges. Alpha Gordon slams his fist down on the table, breaking it in half as he stands also threatening the judg

Chapter 15
Adam POV It felt great to have Sam back again. I am sure there is some story behind his mystery woman, but that would be a conversation over a cold beer once we cleared out the rogue situation. I shifted midstride, destroying my clothes but there was no time to stop and change. Our warriors were updating us that the numbers of rogues entering our territory were higher than we had seen before. They might be an army, but they were not a healed army so there would be disorganization amongst them. They would fight for so long before their own goals would shadow what the current head rogue wanted. And it concerned me that the head rogue could be Tim. He knew more about Jenna because of his connection to the Rogue King and Wendy. Clearly it put him at an advantage we would have preferred he not have. As I broke through the clearing, Sam and Jack were close on my heels. I could not believe what I saw. There were at least thirty rogues fighting o

Chapter 16
Adam POV As I come through the forest and come upon the scene in front of me my heart sinks as I see yet another ring of rogues surrounding Jenna. I can see the two warriors in front of her being destroyed as Tim makes his way towards her. I roar my anger as Jake pounces forward destroying all rogues in his path. My only goal is to get to Jenna. When I heard from her it was Elder Fred who had betrayed us, I was filled with rage. I wanted to destroy him myself, but I see someone beat me to it as his insides are spilled out on the ground in front of Jenna. I know, from Jenna, that the Pack members present are unable to shift as they were affected by the wolfsbane. It also explains why they could not communicate with me. Fortunately, the rogues were not bothering with them, and I could see the women were pushing the children away as best they could without drawing attention to themselves. I make my way through the crowd of rogues along with th

Chapter 17
Sam POV I sat back in my chair in my office at the Pack House, as Jack filled me in on everything that had happened since I had been gone. Josie was trying to get healed so we could have had a chance. I could not believe that she had not felt herself worthy of me. I understood being a rogue had its challenges, but it never occurred to me she would see herself as less than. She was a powerful woman on her own. Jack continued to talk as I listened. He caught me up on everything that had happened with Jenna. Jenna was like a sister to us, and I was pissed that she had to go through everything she has. It blew me away that Jenna and Josie were half-sisters. Jenna would be devastated to know we had lost track of Josie in the attack by Tim and his gang of rogues. The truth was I had mixed feelings on Josie. I still held the pain of her rejecting me. However, it had gotten a little easier with Lana coming into the picture. Until Lana di

Chapter 18
Josie POV As Tim walked away, I could hear someone weeping in the dungeons. I had to strain my ears to hear them. “Hello?” I ask waiting to see if they responded. Nothing. “Hello,” I repeat a little louder. I knew my own voice had been weakened by the poison in my system. I heard sniffling, “Hello?” the woman replied. I shuffle trying to sit up. Realizing I was still too weak I laid on my side, asking, “Who are you?” I ask. The woman replies, “We shouldn’t be talking, we will get in trouble,” she says in a forced whisper. I pause for a moment. The woman sounds terrified. “I will take my chances,” I reply to her. “I am not sure I will,” she replies softly. “What is your name?” I ask her softly so as not to draw attention from the guards. “Sarah,” she replies. “My name is Josie; how long have you been here?” I ask her afraid to hear the answer. “A month by my calculations,” she replies. A month. What the hell has she been doing her

Jenna POV The day had arrived. The Packs were starting to arrive. The excitement among the various Packs and their guests was infectious. Adam and I had the responsibility, and pleasure, of greeting each Alpha and Luna of the Packs who were attending. We had a couple Alphas attending who were single. I knew one was bringing a guest with him. I only hoped they did not encounter challenges if either found their mates tonight. There was some tension among the Alphas with the current rogue situation. With the hit Tim took in his army of rogues, we were not certain he would be able to gather enough rogues and organize them for another attack. I knew we were well prepared, and I had never seen so many warriors present in once place with the additional support from the ten Packs. It was quite incredible to experience. I was most proud of our own Pack members. Our Omegas had planned an amazing dining experience for tonight. As we had discussed

Chapter 20
Josie POV I was so warm inside my body. The healing power of Jenna has been incredible to experience. I had always been cold, although I was a wolf. Wolves were traditionally warm and rarely cold. Being a rogue and the daughter of the Rogue King meant I was in a perpetual state of pain and cold. As Jenna worked on my stomach, I felt the ebb and flow of pain. I knew she was struggling and had taken many breaks trying to cleanse me. I had suggested we stop. I did not want her to experience the pain I had endured this long. I was used to it and could handle it. I knew she had almost died when she had worked on healing my brother Eric. I felt a closeness to her during this time. A closeness I had never felt to another. Including my brother. He may have been my twin, but we were never close. He endured me, and killed for me when he killed our father, but I had no disillusion that he cared for me. I did not know if he was even capable of
